Past Life Lover: A Paranormal Gay Romance Kindle Edition
Beautiful boys don’t jump into your arms every night.
At least not in Sam’s experience. And certainly not in the alley behind his bar when he is putting out the trash. To say he is shocked when it happens is an understatement.
He takes the badly injured boy to hospital, where nurses confirm he is a known rent boy and drug addict in the clutches of a violent pimp.
But Tally claims he isn’t that boy anymore. He says he is a dark sorcerer from Celtic times. One who slaughtered a Roman army to avenge Sam and has now escaped Hell to find him.
Sam takes the delusional boy home to care for him.
Tally’s devotion, persistence and near constant offers, combined with his sweet and bubbly personality, start to seep into Sam and he begins to wonder…
Could it all be true?

- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2022It was really beautiful and captivating just to read this book. I’ve always been a fan of starcrossed lover books. I just wished that we have more insight into their past lives and how it reflect on them in their current lives. To see a love bloom from nothing since the beginning to transcending time never ending. But always hope for another likely book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2022Well this was unique and good, it did take a minute to wrap my head around it, and I believe some more background was needed, but it was a good read. Tally and Sam were great and the secondary characters are interesting.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2022As always an epic interesting plot. Some typos, and some corrections? still in the script, but they dont spoil the story. Highly enjoyable read.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2022The story is nice. It's kind of a new to me take, but the tone is very telling. It tells you this is Tally, it tells you this is Sam. It's so objectively third person that it doesn't connect you to Sam or Tally. It's reads like a children's book but with adult content, and that's just odd. Sam is rather passive, like everything "happens" to him, he never really does anything, even when he does, and I think this is a direct result of the strange tone. He's supposed to be a care taker and a protector. Instead he comes of as an overly cautious but generous victim. That can't be right at all.
Also for whatever reason, around 72% none of the punctuation edits were removed.
I wish this were better, because I truly think this would have been a great story.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2022This was a quick read and I really enjoyed Sam and Tally. Tally got into some shenanigans and I cracked up with Sam's reactions. Sam was really endearing because he was all like I can not boink this guy, but I wanna. And all his reasons were excellent, he didn't want to take advantage of Tally. I thought the past life stuff was interesting and would have loved to have more of it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2022I wasn't expecting the cuteness factor at all after having only read the Evil Omega series by this author. Tally was truly adorable and like Sam, I couldn't help but fall in love with him. Poor Sam. He's just living his everyday life when he's accosted into a bear hug by a sweet twink he's never met. He had no idea said twink was going to change his life forever. Nor did he know that this was definitely not the first time they met. Sam's life was going to take a turn for the weird so to speak.
My heart felt for Tally the most. Banished to hell, waiting thousands of years to find his soulmate again. Then when he does, Sam doesn't remember him or anything about their past life. Try explaining to the everyday human that they are your lover reincarnated from thousands of years ago. You can bet it didn't go over too well and Sam spends much of the book thinking Tally is stuck in some sort of delusion. That is, until weird things start popping up in his bedroom such as a demon and Lucifer's main squeeze. There really isn't much one can argue against after that.
The romance was sweet. No matter what Tally wouldn't be deterred. He was going to make Sam fall in love with him again. Honestly, he didn't have to try all that hard. Tally and all his innocence of the modern world was strangely endearing. He was one of those MCs you wanted to wrap up in a warm blanket and snuggle to death. You can't help but adore him. I really do wish this book was alternating POV so that we got to be in his head as well as Sam's.
Jinx was certainly an intriguing side character and I am excited that his book is next. It will be interesting to see how the author is going to deal with his communication issues as he is new to the world as well and cannot speak. As far as I know, he doesn't appear to know any sign language either. I will say his fashion sense is quite striking and I can't wait to learn more things about him when his book debuts.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2022I really liked this book! Tally was sweet but fierce, and Sam was a little dense but had a good heart. Would not have minded a little more heat, but that's nothing new. Every book I read, I become more of a fan of S. Rodman! Recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2022Standalone. Paranormal. Quick read. When a young man jumps into his arms, bar owner Sam doesn’t hesitate to help the hurt and most certainly delusional man. But Tally has a hard time convincing Sam that they were lovers two thousand years ago and Tally has worked all this time for them to be together again. It is too bad we don’t get Tally’s POV as he is committed to his love for Sam, no matter the time, place or body he will sacrifice everything to be with Sam again. Sam is protective and sweet because even though he is tempted he doesn’t want to take advantage of Tally. This story was entertaining but had so much more potential for the world build, with possibly more background on secondary characters and more sharing of Tally and Sam’s past lives it would have given the book more depth. Perhaps it’s the author’s intent to leave the reader wanting more, and I am here for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great
I love this authors work and how each book is some how linked to other books with a character or two popping up. Honestly it’s a fantastic set of stories that can be read alone but their work is too good not to find the read order. Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
Such a lovely story with a paranormal twist
The care Sam has for Tally without knowing who he is was beautiful and swoon worthy. Finding out about past lives and fated love was a wonderful twist
This was such a good way to spend a Saturday morning

5.0 out of 5 stars A really fun mm paranormal romance
Tally and Sam lead a very interesting life in this paranormal story that is tremendous fun to read. I loved the way that S. Rodman has combined the ideas of reincarnation and a fated mate type of thing then added in hell as more of a different dimension. The characters are definitely the best thing for me in this book and even the secondary characters are well written and fleshed out marvelously. I enjoyed this book a lot and I really hope for more books about these two characters and also some of the secondary characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars fabulous fantasy romance
I’m smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. Fabulously entertaining fantasy romance. I was swept up in this love story. Loved the characters and I had to learn what happened next. Fast, entertaining, fun, sexy read. Hope there is another book about the characters we met.
