Peace Out: A Peace Novella Series (Peace Series Novella) Kindle Edition
The last thing Cyn is looking for is Jericho, the quiet, soft-spoken ranch hand from the McBride place. Between the clinic closing, her mom’s health, and Cyn’s long-delayed college plans, there are already too many uncertainties. Could Jericho be the anchor she needs so desperately as her world falls apart? Or is he just another excuse not to let go of Peace and move on.

About the author

A mythmaker at heart, Sandra Hurst has been writing poetry, fantasy and science fiction since her school days in England. Hurst moved to Canada in 1969 and was deeply influenced by the wild lands and the indigenous cultures that surrounded her. Y’keta, her first full-length novel, is set in a mythical land, untouched by science or technology, an ancient world where legends walk and the Sky Road offers a way to the stars.
A member of the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society, the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association, and the Mythopoeic Society, Hurst works to build fantasy worlds that allow her readers to join her in exploring the depths of human interaction through a mythical game of ‘what if.’
Her first novel, Y’keta, is long-listed for the prestigious Aurora Award, for best Canadian fantasy novel (Young Adult) and the American-based RONE award for break-out fantasy novel.
She now lives in Calgary, Alberta with her husband and son, both of whom she loves dearly, and has put up for sale on e-bay when their behaviour demanded it.

Highly recommended for the romantic at heart.
Small town girl, Cyn Redman had a dream of leaving Peace and becoming an “actual psychologist” in a city. Yet, life’s obstacles constantly get in the way of this girl’s desires. But luck ends up on her side when Jericho Matthews crashes into her life. Cyn now has a choice to make, stay in the small town and live happily ever after with Jericho,or leave Peace and set on a new path of discovery.
I have read this author’s intriguing poems in the past and was not disappointed with this tale of love. The characters were well developed and I could relate to Cyn and how she felt about being stuck in a small town with no way out. I was even pleased by Jericho. He was truly a knight in shining armor which made the romance blossom.
It was truly a sweet story about love and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2018I’ve never lived in a small town but I always wondered what it would be like. It sounds so personal, a lot more intimate than the big city. Saying that, anonymity can be a good thing especially when neighbours have opinions about your business. In Peace, one family has overshadowed the town for years, ruling by their money and fear, rather than respect. But times are changing now. Some good, some bad…. Cyn’s mom was sick, she’d just met Jericho and her scholarship waited for her, if she was bold enough to take it…
The storyline was intriguing. Small town girl wanting more, held back by love of family and, now, for a strong, handsome man who seemed to care about her too. Jericho was a bright light but even he was something she feared wasn’t real. Their courtship, along with all the drama packed into this quick read, needed to be in fast gear and maybe that’s where I got lost a bit. There was a lot of drama in a short time, perhaps a bit much for me. Some you could predict, others not, but all of it at breakneck speed.
I liked the characters, I felt for Cyn especially as she wrestled with her own goals, measuring them against the needs of her Mom and then Jericho. At the end of the day, it all played out in a way that felt right…

- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2020Very sweet romance with an element of mystery that keeps you guessing. I like the way the story wraps up neatly but also makes you interested in the next book in the series. The relationship between Cyn and her mom is very deep and the writing gives insight into what it feels like to care for someone who is ill. Very enjoyable read!

Cynthia ‘Cyn’ Redman’s life is falling apart. Her mother has been diagnosed with cancer, and this throw’s Cyn into a spiral. Will she be able to complete her life’s goals while trying to help her mother heal? What will happen when she meets Jericho, the quiet cowboy who brings a calming peace to her life?
This story is amazing from start to finish. I really love how the story starts with a major incident, and it sets off a chain of events that keep you reading. The storyline was realistic and flowed easily. The character development was on point. The interactions between Jericho and Cyn was sweet and plausible.
I would definitely recommend this story to others. I think that readers will love the Peace Novella series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cyn and sweetness
Cyn has a lot on her plate, a lot to handle and muddle through. She’s not looking for romance, never mind anything else to make her life that bit more complicated.
Along comes Jericho, and he’s not your average cowboy. Sweet, smooth and wonderfully spiced.
A good story, beautifully developed. Well worth investing in.
