    This short prequel gives us a glimpse of one of the pivotal characters in the series before the action begins. There is a lot of insight to the series to be gain in these few pages!

    Penny has just lost her beloved grandfather. She and her mother don’t get along. In fact Penny moved out into an apartment above the old cinema her grandfather owned. Before his death he assured Penny that the building was left to her in his will, and there would be no way for her mother to take it from her.

    Now that Penny is basically alone in the world all she has is the cinema and her newspaper of strange fact and occurrences that she publishes. Penny spends a lot of time on her research and is helped quite a bit by one mysterious source, Cross.

    Cross has informed her that someone she needs to talk to will be coming to Meridia Falls soon. Logan Collins, whose sister disappeared, or was murdered, stories differ, has had unusual experiences. Penny can’t wait to meet him!

    Much to Penny’s dismay, her mother makes a claim for the cinema. Now Penny will have to fight to keep her home.
