Eurydice (Evie) Prentoulis Teacher at the International School of Prague
I would like to congratulate you for the wonderful materials that you have created which I am enjoying very much. I volunteered to give conversation in English to 5 years old. I might have been an English translator for 30 years but trying to capture the attention of 12 children is a different matter. Needless to say how helpful your games book has been, our classes are now very animated and I can see how the children look forward to the next lesson. Olga Díaz, Spain
I am writing to express my gratitude for your remarkable resources. They have become part and parcel of my work because my students always want more and more fun with your PowerPoint and videos at the lessons. I appreciate your creativity very much.
Tatyana Potapova, Moscow, Izmaylovskaya gymnasium Language School
How wonderful to have short activities ready prepared, to throw in at a moments notice, when the children's attention span starts to dwindle. I have so much more confidence in my teaching abilities now, especially when I see the children learning and enthusiastic! I am looking forward to the next class I teach now! Kathryn Williams, USA.
Last summer I bought all of your resources...and I can only say that I have been amazed and delighted by the results. The children absolutely love the games, the songs and the stories. I have had a lot of fun with them this year and great satisfaction... I can't recommend your work enough or compliment you sufficiently for your materials. In fact, I have got so much confidence and pleasure from my year teaching young children that in September I am opening my own school here and will also offer lessons from the age of 2 years old. Alison Salmon, Tuscany, Italy.
From the Author
Thanks for your interest in this book of fun preschool games.
This games book is part of my collection of fun ESL games books that have helped tens of thousands of teachers already. Now you can be sure to make your preschool English lessons fun and effective.
This games book is for preschoolers, aged 3 to 6. It contains listening and speaking games but not much in the way of reading or writing activities. If you want to teach reading and writing then I recommend my book for primary school children: 176 English Language Games for Children.
If you need me, I'll be here to help you make your lessons fun, using this games book, stories, songs and theatre. Just email me via my website Teaching English Games.
I'm always glad to hear from teachers. I'll also send you a free story with lesson plan and flashcards, to use in combination with these fun games.
Kind regards
Shelley Ann Vernon

- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2017I’m a big fan of inventive lesson ‘recipe’ and resource books as I try to be spontaneous and creative and original in my own lessons. It's so easy to slip into a rut and end up doing the some old same old out of simple laziness or lack of inspiration. So Shelley Ann Vernon's ESL Games for Preschool fits right into my way of doing things.
Continuing my long career of English teaching here in France, I’m now running my own English school called Rainbow English School, based on a positive pedagogy approach, and I’ve easily incorporated the book’s activities into my ‘maternelle’ class (4-6 year olds) already and the kids love them and so do I.
I’ve been a fan of the author’s Teaching English Games website for a while now and I appreciate her generous and genuine style.
There are a few standout things I really like about her new book in fact: 1) There are a lot of activities, clearly categorised into easy and more advanced speaking and listening activities, as well as ones which focus on specific vocabulary which is great when you’re covering a particular topic; 2) The activities are really clearly explained usually in only a page or so, with variations noted and easy to follow instructions which is vital when you’re always pressed for time like I usually am; 3) The variety and fun aspect of all the games is brilliant – it’s so clear that Shelley Ann has poured all her long experience into this book and it’ll be in my teacher’s kit bag for many months to come 😊

- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2017Over several years ago i bought my first Shelly book "176 English language games for children", being a new teacher, not to teaching but to teaching English, I found this book an incredible asset to me, consequently as my English career grew I then came into the adult teaching world, which again I purchased her book. So when i noticed she had launched a new book for preschool and this is my new area, i was straight on to the shopping cart to get my copy! As always its an inspiration especially to new and old teachers alike, all her books are packed with great ideas which can be adapted to any situation, classroom and culture, not only that she has included something for everyone, Now being a Director of an Academy, Examinator for international exams in English and teacher, time is not something i have so this series is a real plus I would highly recommend it to new teachers, busy teachers, teachers who need help, teachers who need a difference, teachers who have been teaching forever, all of you! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for use with young kids!
This is a great book to use for ESL children. I’m teaching two toddler Romanian girls to speak English and I use this book to find helpful activities to use with them. Each activity is broken down into little steps and it tells you how much space you need, if it’s a calming game, it it’s good for getting active, and so on. I definitely think this book is worth the money for young children’s education

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tips!
I'd really recommend this book to everyone starting in the world of Preschool ESL Teaching! It has many different activities and games that will surely inspire. The explanations are simple and easy to understand, and the organisation is incredible. I'll store my copy in my school so all teachers can share it and have a quick look when feeling uninspired.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad packaging.
The book itself was good, but due to the bad packaging, the oil from the shower gel leaked from its housing, affecting the other items in the package, including the books I've ordered. It is a shame.

5.0 out of 5 stars My students loved them. My lessons have been more enjoyable and ...
I'm an English teacher from Hungary and I find Shelley and her book extremely helpful. The day I got the book I started to read it on my way to my next lesson and straight away I could use some of the ideas. My students loved them. My lessons have been more enjoyable and playful since I started to use these ideas. The games are easily adaptable to any age groups, I think some of them can even be fun to use with adults to ease the stress on the lessons. :)
All the games are fun and can be varied in an endless combination with any vocabulary. I got a lot of inspiration from it and the feedback from the children is amazing. They became more enthusiastic about English. Thank you very much for the opportunity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb livre
