Pretty Policeman: The Case of the Suspicious Stripper Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 324 ratings

Going undercover at a strip club owned by your mafioso boyfriend without running it past him first? Not the best idea. (Then again, a few spankings never hurt anyone… much.)

Micah Hart had learned a few things the first few months of officially dating Damon Romano, a vicious mafioso/ridiculously rich billionaire, infamous throughout New York City for his cut-throat “business” tactics:

1. Damon was soft for nothing and no one… except Micah (and
maybe his sisters).
2. His domineering tendencies
definitely extended to the bedroom.
3. Damon didn’t trust him – not completely.

That last one shouldn’t have hurt as much as it did. After all, there were bound to be certain obstacles to overcome in a relationship when one person was a mafia don and the other was a police-detective-turned-PI.

Damon keeps Micah far away from anything related to his “work”, and Micah allows it... at least until a stripper named Ginger waltzes into his struggling detective agency, claiming that her boyfriend - also a stripper - is trying to kill her. Ginger just so happens to work at Lust, the most infamous of a chain of clubs Damon has
specifically warned Micah away from.

Taking the job would require him to go undercover at Lust, and he should say no.

But Damon
is out of town for the weekend.

And Micah’s been salivating for an actually worthwhile case for weeks now.

What’s the worst that could happen?

(Psst. Spankings.)

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Fifer Rose is a happily married mother of four human children and two very spoiled cats.

When she is not wiping snotty noses or being bullied into feeding her cats (again?!), she can be found obsessing over M/M romance. She loves all the tropes, some of her favorite being enemies to lovers, hurt/comfort, sugar daddy, and mistaken identity. She also has a penchant for A/B/O dynamics.

While Fifer is a sucker for angst, a happily-ever-after is a MUST in all she reads and writes.

Unrelated hobbies include baking, attempting to golf (for her husband’s sake), and daydreaming about traveling. (No actual traveling because did you see the part about four kids?)

I loved this book and this couple! In the continuing story of Micah and Damon. Micah goes undercover in a strip bar to investigate a possible murder. When Damon finds him there, there is hell to pay. Damon is so obsessive, jealous and possessive of Micah, it makes for the hottest scenes ever. Micah gets so worked up if Damon trusts him or not. It was well worth the wait to get this follow up and I can't wait for the next one. Fifer always leaves you hungry for more. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Loved the first book. Have been excited for the second which ended up as more of a novella. I wish it was longer and I hope the 3rd will delve more Into their relationship and character growth as a couple as well as maybe add some suspense like the first book did. Still a good short read and I absolutely adore Micah's character. That being said I would like to see a lot more growth from Micah in the 3rd book. I understand he wants to save people but he is not doing this in a smart way. You can be a PI without constantly putting yourself in danger. He has no sens
e of self preservation which is a major issue in their relationship understandably he needs to realize who he's dating and the dangers that come with that which he doesn't seem to understand. I'd like to see a longer 3rd book with good character growth (not going backwards) and a good suspenseful story like the first book. I also feel like Micah should be at least going to therapy or having some issues after his abduction In the first book just something that might be included in the 3rd book.

I enjoyed visiting with the MCs of this series, and I hope the author comes back to expand this world. I love the dynamics between the MCs and seeing their relationship grow as well as the shenanigans that take place along the way. I am looking forward to more from this author.

I didn’t realize that this was just a novella. It’s about what I would expect from a freebie when you sign up for an author newsletter.

I was really surprised to suddenly be at the end because it started out like the previous case and seemed like we were starting a new case.

This book made me dislike Damon more, though. His possessiveness is out of control. In the previous book, his worry over Micah’s safety seemed appropriate, especially since he thought Micah was a sex worker. Is that he knows he’s a trained detective, he shouldn’t be treating him like he’s helpless and naive. Didn’t like him at all in this book and I guess I’m just glad it’s over since I’m not rooting for this relationship.

Please be aware I received an ARC but these are my own opinions. There will be minor spoilers.

This book picks up not too long after the first. Micah has recovered from what happened at the end of the first book, started his detective agency with Tessa but there are some minor problems between him and Damon, his mafia boss boyfriend. Micah accepts a job through Damon’s sister to go undercover at their club, Lust, while Damon is away on a trip. And quite a few things happen from there.

I had been waiting for this sequel since the first book came out, so I was really eager for this sequel to get more of Micah and Damon. It did not disappoint. Micah continues to be endearingly stubborn and brave, Damon is incredibly hot, possessive and caring (but only towards Micah). There’s a good bit of comedy in here mixed in with some tension, sweet moments and a few hot scenes.

I will say I did prefer the first book but it was longer so we had more time with these characters.

If I did have a minor problem or two with this book, I wish we would have learned more about the immediate aftermath of book 1 but it’s a small thing. Like maybe Micah should be a bit traumatized from his experience but he seems to have no issues here.

Definitely recommended for people who enjoyed the first book. Already looking forward to the next book!

Cute novella sequel to Pretty Policeman.  This story was more of Micah being an adorable idiot with no sense of self-preservation. Why bother fighting being a trophy husband & pillow princess to an absurdly wealthy man you love? 😂  This was fun, but I wish it had been a full length novel. I'm looking forward to the next book when it gets released.

I hope we get to see them walk down the aisle. I also really enjoyed the level of spice and how in love the two MC are with each.

I absolutely ADORED Pretty Policeman and have been checking to see if there's a follow-up on a regular basis, so I was THRILLED when I saw this. I loved it don't get me wrong just not quite as much as the first book. I also nearly squealed with excitement when I saw that Fifer is working on book 3!!! I love Micah and Damon they're just so 🔥🔥🔥 together!! This is a must read series imho.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quick, cute follow up on Damon and Micah 3.5*
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 17, 2023
This novella, features Damon, mafia don and ex detective Micah a few months on from where the first book finished. They are still dating and Micah gets offered a new case as a PI. It’s a bit risky , but with Damon away Micah and Tessa take it on and quickly find themselves undercover in Joelle’s strip club.

Nothing is ever easy and Damon freaks out when he finds Micah dressed scantily and in another man’s company. There are more obstacles including Micah getting in harms way again. Micah is still sorting though his relationship in his head with Damon thinks he doesn’t trust him but he forgets to realise that Micah is everything to Damon and wouldn’t be able to handle it if something bad ever happened to Micah.

It was nice seeing this couple again and I enjoyed all of the secondary characters.
