About the author

International Bestselling Author Tim Tigner began his career in Soviet Counterintelligence with the US Army Special Forces, the Green Berets. That was back in the Cold War days when, "We learned Russian so you didn't have to," something he did at the Presidio of Monterey alongside Recon Marines and Navy SEALs.
With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Tim switched from espionage to arbitrage. Armed with a Wharton MBA rather than a Colt M16, he moved to Moscow in the midst of Perestroika. There, he led prominent multinational medical companies, worked with cosmonauts on the MIR Space Station (from Earth, alas), chaired the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, and helped write Russia's first law on healthcare.
Moving to Brussels during the formation of the EU, Tim ran Europe, Middle East, and Africa for a Johnson & Johnson company and traveled like a character in a Robert Ludlum novel. He eventually landed in Silicon Valley, where he launched new medical technologies as a startup CEO.
In his free time, Tim has climbed the peaks of Mount Olympus, hang glided from the cliffs of Rio de Janeiro, and ballooned over Belgium. He earned scuba certification in Turkey, learned to ski in Slovenia, and ran the Serengeti with a Maasai warrior. He acted on stage in Portugal, taught negotiations in Germany, and chaired a healthcare conference in Holland. Tim studied psychology in France, radiology in England, and philosophy in Greece. He has enjoyed ballet at the Bolshoi, the opera on Lake Como, and the symphony in Vienna. He's been a marathoner, paratrooper, triathlete, and yogi.
Intent on combining his creativity with his experience, Tim began writing thrillers in 1996 from an apartment overlooking Moscow's Gorky Park. Twenty years later, his passion for creative writing continues to grow every day. His home office now overlooks a vineyard in Northern California.
Tim grew up in the Midwest, and graduated from Hanover College in 1990 with a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics. After military service and work as a financial analyst and foreign-exchange trader, he earned an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton and Lauder schools on a full-ride scholarship.
Thank you for taking the time to read about the author. Tim is most grateful for his loyal fans, and loves to correspond with readers like you. You are welcome to reach him through his website timtigner.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2019I have to be honest. There are some authors whose books I pre-order upon availability, Nancy Herkness, Melinda Leigh, Kendra Elliot, and Tim Tigner are among them. With respect to other authors, I read what the book is about and read reviews from other readers. I then decide if I want to spend my money on the book?
When I started reading “The Price of Time” I had not read anything to tell me what it is about, after all, I thought I knew. From now on, I will read what even those authors’ books are about so I am not surprised. I was 2/3 through the book before I pulled it up on Amazon and read the “blurb” about it. Until that point, I kept expecting Kyle Achilles to show up and save the day. Guess what, this book is not about Achilles. Imagine my shock.
Now for my review of the book. What a novel (pun intended) concept for a book, a literal fountain of youth. I love a book that is about a new and unique idea. I was impressed that, while this book provides eight people with perpetual youth, it shows that immortality is not all it’s cracked up to be. I’m impressed, Tigner, that you showed that side of something for which people often wish. Is it at this point that I should say be careful what you wish for?
And then, the immortals begin to die. While at age 60 they still look 30, they can still fall victim to disease, accident, and murder. However, they are the only eight people who know about the injections, who would kill them and why?
Once they decide to go down the road of forever young, they realize that while everyone they know will age normally they will never look any older than they do at the present moment. So what to do? Their solution brings a former CIA agent, Zachary Chase, into the picture. Eventually, he is joined by Skylar Fawkes, a replacement for one of the “immortals.”
This is definitely a stand-alone book but I would imagine that since Zachary’s and Skylar’s histories, individually and together are in this book it would be wise to read it before the next Chase and Fawkes book hits the shelves (or Kindles).
Great, creative idea, two interesting protagonists, and a well written, intriguing, lose sleep type of novel. I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2020This is an exciting fast-paced book advertised as a science fiction thriller but really is a bit weak on the science. It starts out with the premise of an Earth-shattering discovery and then goes on to plot one possible future due to that discovery.
There's no more science but rather social consequences along that line. Added in early and sneakily is the thriller part where a spy vs spy subplot slowly emerges to finally dominate the action while the first plot thread mutates into a classic mystery.
The mystery resolves satisfactorily while the thriller plot does too winding up better than most treatments along these lines.
My skepticism and plot impossibilities avoid awarding a five-star rating. I'm content accepting the initially posited scientific breakthrough but the reactions assigned the supposedly well-connected and highly intelligent initial players have so many obvious errors as to make that thread an eye-roller. Still, an exciting read assisted by a most rewarding final act.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2019What If... I could give this book review more stars? I’d do it in a New York minute! Because that is the premise of this cautionary tale.
This book is a change of pace for Tim Tigner. Instead of a hero trying to prevent random acts of terror or evil conspiracies, it’s a smart thriller that also explores issues of morality and ethics in a world of rapidly developing technologies. The main concept asks the questions: What if you could change your life forever? How far would you go the achieve immortality?
The Price of Time revolves around a small group of corporate bigwigs who are keeping a major medical breakthrough to themselves. In a twist of fate, former CIA agent Zachary Chase inadvertently becomes a threat to the group’s secret while investigating the disappearance of his college roommate, Lars.
Chase has no idea who is after him or why. All he knows is that the
trouble started after Lars vanished. Using his CIA experience and
contacts and the help of a woman he rescues while retracing Lars’ last known location, Chase closes in on the truth about Lars and his connection to the secret.
Chase’s investigation alternates with the actions of the mysterious group to reach their objectives while keeping Chase at bay. What makes this thriller different is that the group is not inherently evil or a danger to society as a whole, but the steps they take to protect their secret are somewhat extreme. The action is full of surprising twists (especially the stunning finale). Again, Tim Tigner gives the reader an amazing thriller that will have you thinking about it days later. He is a true literary master who never disappoints his readers

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! A pleasure to read.
I really enjoyed the book! I was looking for a new book that would make it possible to dive into a different word for a while. Preferably I would have read the whole book in one piece! It was compelling and I was throughout the whole book curious to see how the story continues. I can really recommend it. I also really enjoyed the writing style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating
This was a rather mind bending book in a good way. Looking at the possibility of Immortality, and the ethical and moral considerations involved, woven into a seriously good murder mystery.
