Reed: A Cold Fury Hockey Novel (Carolina Cold Fury Hockey Book 10) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 1,665 ratings

USA TODAY BESTSELLER • The offseason is heating up for one Carolina Cold Fury heartbreaker who’s eager to make nice with the girl next door.

No one plays like Reed Olson, whether it’s hockey season or not. After back-to-back NHL championships, he’s craving a little R&R. Reed leans to a specific type—blond, busty, and interested—and fortunately he has a little black book full of options. So why is it he can’t stop dreaming about the new girl who just moved in next door? A certified brainiac, she seems to want nothing to do with the hard-bodied athlete.

Josie Ives desperately needs something her celebrity neighbor obviously doesn’t: solitude. Reed is everything she imagined—a little too good-looking, with a body that puts Greek gods to shame. But she didn’t expect he would also be funny and charming. Josie knows she’s the opposite of his type, and that’s fine with her. Still, the chemistry between them is undeniable. Their newfound friendship certainly has its benefits, but she’s starting to wonder if opposites really do attract.

    *4.5 stars*

BIG fan of this series and this addition did not disappoint at all. Loved that this was a bit more of a light hearted romance with bits of seriousness thrown in. I think this was mainly due to Reed's character. He is a fun-loving guy and this sets the tone for the book. It also helps balance the scale when he meets Josie as she is a bit more serious (being a Doctor) but still has a fun side that Reed draws out of her.

I quite enjoyed the progression from friends/neighbors to lovers and watching the change happen in their relationship. As always Ms. Bennett plays it just right for optimum reader enjoyment.

Could have done without the initial scene with the 'Barbie' ladies that Reed is initially drawn to but I get that it was part of the story and sets the tone for the book. (Just beware if you are a 'safety' reader. It is right at the start but once they meet Reed starts to change his ways)

Eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!!

We’re back with the Stanley cup champions, the Carolina Cold Fury. Reed is our man in the tenth book in the series.
Reed is enjoying his summer after winning the Stanley Cup. Sure he’s got women in his bed but is he really enjoying them after the deed is done?
After one particular loud romp with his typical type of woman, his neighbor decides to pay him a visit. His new exhausted er doctor neighbor. Who he shares shares a wall with. His bedroom wall. And she’s not a happy new neighbor after hearing said rom through her wall.
After meeting his new neighbor Josie, Reed realizes he’s definitely has a “type” when it comes to women he “dates” to use the term very loosely. They are beautiful with nothing in the brain department. Josie is beautiful, intelligent and fun to hang around. Maybe he needs to venture into different “type” territory. Josie and Reed enjoy hanging out and decide to be friends. Then they become friends with benefits. And those benefits are in the freaking amazing category. Josie thought her previous relationship, even though it ended in her heart getting broken, she felt it was pretty good in the bedroom. But after meeting Reed she knows it wasn’t good, it was just meh. Reed rocks her world and she enjoys spending time with him. For being a former “man whore” Reed is unbelievably romantic. She is surprisingly really enjoying their relationship. Until her past comes back to shake things up. This makes Reed take a look at their relationship and where it’s going. With pre-season coming up on a very critical year for the team, he’s not sure if he’s being fair to Josie.
I really really enjoyed this so much. It was the perfect love story. It has two great characters, humor, sizzling romance, and just enough emotion. It was a really enjoyable read and I can’t wait for more from the Cold Fury and this series.
One click and find out what happens to Josie and Reed as they fight for their HEA.

Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury Series is one of my favorites and Reed was a fantastic addition. While this book can be read as a standalone, I think reading the series in order makes it more well rounded.

The season is freshly over and Reed Olson is ready to celebrate. Not only will there be plenty of parties, he knows there will also be plenty of women just like he likes them. Reed definitely has a type and he's ready to party with them all. So ready in fact that his bed frame and his wall are getting quite the workout, which leads to him meeting his new next door neighbor when she pays him a visit.

All Josie Ives wants is some sleep. After her long shifts in the ER at the hospital, she just wants to get some rest while she can. Instead she's listening to the incessant banging of the headboard on the wall in the apartment adjacent to hers. Josie goes and pays her neighbor a visit and she gets a lot more than she bargained for when she meets the carefree hockey player who resides there.

As Josie and Reed settle into an unlikely friendship, they begin to spend time together and they realize that maybe there is something to the old adage of "friends with benefits." Will this unlikely duo be able to make something last long term or will things from the past come up and cause problems?

This book was full of heart, off the charts chemistry, humor and emotion. There were times I was laughing out loud and other times I felt extremely emotional for the characters. Sawyer Bennett has a knack for balancing these emotions so well and in the end gives us a well rounded, absolutely beyond enjoyable story! The other thing I can say is that I am very intrigued and ready for Marek's book! It should be a good one!

Reed was a good book, but I felt the ending was a bit abrupt. Reed and Josie are neighbors. Fresh from a Stanlycup win, Reed is well on his way to having a hot boy summer. He meets his neighbor, who isn't his typical type for a conquest. He quickly realizes Josie is on a whole other level. I like the build-up from platonic neighbors to friends to lovers. The Spice was fun and sprinkled throughout. I do wish this book gave more of a peek into their HEA.

We first met Reed in Lucas and Van, he was funny and cute just waiting for his time to be the leading man. He does not disappoint.

Josie and Reed’s witty banter, seemless chemistry, and mature honesty are refreshing and entertaining.

Reed is a light, casual, friends first, lovers second read that Cold Fury Fans won’t want to miss.

PS...The Barbie Brigade is hilarious and laugh out loud funny.

PPS...Marek is an a-hole and I am counting down the days for his book release.

A nice and easy book, really fun to read,
I couldn't put the book down until I've finished it, the relationship between the 2 characters comes slowly and easily without too much angst with is a nice change.
The only bad point would be that the end felt a little bit rush,
Otherwise if you just want to relax and enjoy it's the perfect book

We’re 10 books into this series and Sawyer Bennett can still create a read for these boys that captures you immediately. Reed is so loveable, fun and super sexy and Josie....so awesome!!! She’s smart, caring and independent and one of my favourite heroine’s. I was hooked from the start and throughout there was just a sneaky bit of angst that gave it the edge. I thoroughly loved this book. Reed has just made some serious competition for the top spot with Max!!!

I am a Carolina Cold Fury addict and I cannot see me recovering any time soon. Nor do I want to. I devour every book in this series, some I prefer to others but I have enjoyed every single one.
Reed Olsen is one of the good guys. He's a hot hockey player who loves pretty girls and no strings sex. He usually opts for the 'Barbie' type until a pretty, sassy, smart & dry humoured ER Doctor moves in next door. She isn't interested in his money and pro Hockey athlete status. But she does like hanging with him and being friends. And soon they're friend's with some seriously HOT and heavy benefits.

I liked how Reed had to do the pursuing and I loved Josie's backbone but we still see her vulnerability.

Sweet story with excellent secondary characters.

    HEA? Yes
Cheating? No (She has an awful kiss with her ex but it works within the plot and it proved a point)

Finally, just saying, OMG.....I NEED MAREK''S BOOK NOW!!!!!
