Growing up, Brooke’s mother instilled a deep respect for the English language and a love of words. She taught Brooke to read and write and shared her appreciation for poetry. As a teen, poetry became an outlet for Brooke’s innermost thoughts and deepest, often times darkest feelings.

In school, teachers always told her “write what you know”, so that is what she did. At the not so tender age of forty-three, she started to write her first novel, I Am ShelbyJames (Beauty in the Darkness) and it is what she knows—emotions.

In her spare time—when she’s not writing—you can find Brooke cuddled on the couch with her husband of 20+ years, their fur babies, and a good (often naughty) eBook—unless of course she’s having cocktails with her Bestie at one of their favorite haunts.

    I really should have known you had it in you to write really good books! I have known Brooke Lee for a little while now and she is so good at a lot of things so I knew that she would be able to write stories that would draw you in and not let go until you finish reading the story oh and did I mention that this book is hawt! And, the heat starts almost from the beginning. I think some writers must have an inate ability to put words on paper and make a good story from them. Brooke Lee is one of those authors.

    I loved Reflecting Roni! This is Book # 3 in the Beauty in the Darkness series. There is Romance. Mixed in with erotica and suspense!

    Reflecting Roni is of course Roni’s story. Roni is Shelby’s BEST FRIEND and she was in Book 1 I am ShelbyJames. Roni and Shelby are still best friends and I may be a little jealous of their relationship. Everyone needs friends like these 2 women. They laugh together, are protective of each other and they cry together.
    I loved this book and hope others will too.

    I give Reflecting Roni 5 stars. I can’t wait to see what Brooke Lee has up her sleeve next. I know I will be anxiously waiting for it.

    What an amazing story! It's a beautifully written story of friendship, love, past mistakes, and the toll they can take on your soul. Roni is the picture of a successful woman who has it all: great job, great friends, great boyfriend. Unexpectedly, Roni's past comes to lay claim to her present, and she struggles to keep herself together.

    I don't want to give any spoilers, but Roni finds out what strength truly is when confronted by something she thought was out of her life. She also sees that as horrible as she feels, she doesn't have to face these demons on her own. She needs all her friends for this battle, and they show up guns blazing! I am in serious love with Shelby, Roni, Riley, and Kyle, and I can't wait for more--hint, hint.

    To get the full impact of this story, if you haven't already, read I Am ShelbyJames, the first book in this series. You'll also probably want to have some company when you read this, either human or battery-operated. Brooke knows how to heat up a scene--and there are LOTS!!

    Reflecting Roni is the 3rd installment in Brooke Lee’s Beauty in the Darkness series. Although it can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, why would you? Brooke is a talented author and her characters have a deapth beyond that of many newer authors. So many of us make choices in our lives that we regret. But, how many of us own them and learn from them? How many of us try to shield the people we love from the consequences of our choices? Roni has achieved a lot in her life, personally and professionally. It wasn’t easy. But, just how hard it was came as a shock to me. I’m thrilled to be able to get to know Roni better. As I thought when I read Shelby’s story, we all need a Roni in our lives. I’m a little jealous that Shelby gets one. I hope that I am one for someone. I look forward to more from Brooke Lee, especially more about Roni and Shelby.

    Reflecting Roni is book 3 in the Beauty in the Darkness series, While this book can be read as a stand alone, to get the full depth of the characters and background I recommend reading at least book I first. This book will hook you with the first page and take you on one hell of a ride. The sexual tension, hot sex, action and suspense is enough to make this a must read but this story is about so much more. This story is about facing personal demons and learning to let go of those demons that haunt our dreams. Finding the inner strength to let go of the guilt of bad choices from our past and the inner peace to forgive ourselves for others actions. This book had me crying, seeing red wanting to throat punch someone, and cheer at the same time take my hubby to the bedroom for some release. This book is a one click must, if you read nothing else you need to read this.

    I'm not a big fan of erotica, but this was so much more than sex. The underlying story of Roni and her Best friend Shelby was heartbreaking at times. Having read the first book, I am ShelbyJames, now I understand why Shelby is the way she is. And my heart breaks for her. So while this is Roni's book, it's as much about Shelby, and I'm glad we find out why these two characters are so drawn to each other.
