- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2021Lash Brogan is a hugely popular movie star who just won his first Oscar. But, he isn't at the Awards ceremony to accept his award. Why is that? Because he has been kidnapped and is being tortured by someone for reasons unknown to him.
Lash finally escapes by killing his captors and is found wandering in the woods of Colorado, suffering from his many injuries. Justine McBride, a reclusive Physical Therapist, finds him and finds herself nursing him back to health.
This book took me a while to really become involved in the story, but once it grabbed me, I was hooked. The characters are well-developed and you really feel like you know them. The story is fast-paced and has plenty of twists to keep you interested. The book also deals with addiction in a very thoughtful way which added another dimension to the story.
There was plenty of romance and a lot of tears involved in this one, too. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book. I look forward to reading more in the series. I was given the chance to read this book through Candid Book Reviews and chose to review it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2013I still cannot believe this is Ms. Vinduska's first published work! Her writing style is like that of a seasoned author and she pulls you in from the very start. I found myself unable to put this book down, constantly looking forward to what would happen next. By far, one of the best books I have read in a long, long time. I am eagerly anticipating her future releases and encourage any one who enjoys a riveting page-turner to purchase this book immediately!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2020I thought this book was interesting and easy to read. I enjoy this author's stories. This is not the first book I have read by her. This is however the first book in this series. I read them out of order and was still able to understand all of them. I liked the relationship between the main characters. It was very sweet...it started out traumatically and ended that way...but all the in between was great. They had a chemistry that they could not deny. I would recommend this author to others who enjoy reading this genre.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2014I am impressed at Sara's sophisticated writing style, sentences that flow like water down a hill. She also builds suspense and sustains it like a veteran thriller author. She rarely lets you get to the end of a chapter without a hook that draws you into the next chapter. I got a sneak peek at her second novel, and it's even better!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2020Very emotional romantic suspense. Great characters and great series starter. I actually read Book 2 first over a year ago and going back to read Book 1 now was definitely worth it because it adds so much depth to Lash, his lifestyle, family, traits and circle of friends.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2020Excellent book. I love reading a book that is a constant page turner.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2015-- SPOILER ALERT!!! --
After reading "Drowning Man" and loving it, I decided to read her other novel, "Reflections." I have to say it took me a long while to really get into it. Only when I reached the half-way mark did I find it taking a turn for the better, keeping me engaged right up to the end. I think what bothered me the most was how quickly Lash and Justine's relationship developed so soon after his kidnapping. It happened so fast that I had to reread passages to see exactly when they were so taken with each other. In my opinion, there wasn't much of anything except for a bit of flirting on his part. And once they started their relationship, it was full speed ahead over a short span of time. She took a leave of absence of work to spend time at his ranch in a different state, then went with him to Ireland for a week. You may have a different opinion, but I thought it moved too quick. I felt that because of their quick romance, the relationship was front and center placing the story of suspense on the back-burner. Regardless, I still liked both Lash and Justine. I don't want to give too much away except to say that there's a lot going on. And the ending? Quite the surprise. Didn't see that one coming. Happy readings.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2013Reflections is more a suspense novel than your traditional romance novel, but it will grab you from page one. It’s like a modern day fairy tale with two flawed characters that you will root for and identify with along their journey. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you entertained right up to the last chapter. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

4.0 out of 5 stars She did a great job of describing and working through his mental state ...
This is the second book I read from this author. Although the relationship between the characters developed fast, I still found it believable because of their personalities and the situation in which they met. I thought it was a well told story and was caught off guard a couple times. She did a great job of describing and working through his mental state after all the trauma he goes through. I will continue reading her books.
