    What a hot and fantastic start to this new series by Carly Phillips! Rock Me is the first book in the new Bachelor Bad Boys series and it's hooked me right away and I did not want to put this book down!

    Ben Hollander is a bodyguard who works for Alpha Security. He works with a group of people that are more like family than just colleagues. When new assignments are handed out, Ben's boss knows that he isn't going to be thrilled with his new charge, but he was the only one available for the job. When Ben learns that he is going to be guarding someone from his past, it's clear very quickly that he's not sure how he's going to handle it.

    Summer Michelle is on the verge of having everything she wants. She could be the opening act on tour for one of the biggest artists in the music business, but she has to beat out another woman who she's been competing with for years. The two were on the same reality show years ago and the competitive spirit of the other woman doesn't seem to have lessened over the years. While Summer is being threatened, she doesn't really understand the severity until her new bodyguard, and a huge part of her past, walks back into her life.

    Needless to say things didn't end well between Summer and Ben the first time around when their short affair ended when someone ratted them out and Ben was fired from his job. What is very clear once they are around one another again is that they both feel the same way they did years ago. They are insanely attracted to one another and it doesn't seem those feelings are going away. With Ben in a similar position this time will he be able to put his feelings ahead of his job or will duty win in the end?

    I enjoyed the characters in this book, the pace of the story was great and I also liked all of the supporting characters. I'm definitely interested in what is going to happen with the other members of Alpha Security and if they are all going to get their happily ever afters!

    I would highly recommend checking out this new series. You won't be sorry!

    A couple of weeks ago Carly Phillips offered one of her older books for free on most websites, and I jumped at the one-click opportunity. With Rock Me, Ms. Phillips tells a sweet, second chance story that I enjoyed.

    Summer Michelle is on the verge of getting her big break after her stint on a reality music show. From an early age, Summer and her parents work for her big break. Now Summer is so close she can taste it. However, she is also receiving threats that make the sponsors concerned. For her safety, they contract with Alpha Security for protection.

    Ben Hollander is assigned the job which doesn’t make him happy. He lost his last position the reality show because of his fling with Summer was against the rules. Unfortunately, Summer watched him walk away, which only fans his anger and determination to never get emotionally involved with a woman again. He watched his mother break his father; it is what women do in his mind. Unfortunately, when he is close to Summer, his heart doesn’t listen to his head, and he soon remembers everything he likes about this woman.

    Rock Me was first published in 2017. I read many of Carly Phillips’ books over the years. Her ability to create characters with dynamic personalities that jump off the page makes me come back for more. Ben and Summer are delightful characters. They are both passionate and determined to advance their careers while questioning their personal choices and hurting inside because of past events.

    I love the secondary characters too. I’m a little surprised that there are only two books in the Bodyguard Bad Boy series. There are so many support characters that intrigue me. I read the second book a year or so ago. There is an excerpt at the end of Rock Me that triggered my memory. I hope Ms. Phillips will come back to this series in the future.

    There is a little suspense, but honestly, it is easy to figure out who is behind the threats. There is a bit extra added to the intrigue, some family issues all around, but Rock Me is more romance and righting wrongs than anything else. If you have the opportunity to get this book for free or whether you pay the full price, I’m sure you will enjoy Ben and Summer’s story.

    This book is sweet and full of love. Summer and Ben thought they had it all when they were first together, but all that came crashing to the ground. Now Summer is competing for a spot on a worldwide tour but is being threatened. Ben values his job and after being burned doesn't mix business and personal. When he gets the job to protect Summer he doesn't want it but takes it. Summer wants to clear the air so she and Ben can at least be civil with each other. What she doesn't expect is for them to start where they left off. Soon their relationship becomes everything they want but will it survive? Is Ben going to fight to be with Summer even if it's long distance for a while?

    I'm a big fan of Carly Phillips but I still ummmed and ahhhhed over getting this one as I have a massive to read list and wasn't sure I'd have time to read this. Well I'm pleased I pressed pre-order because yet again Carly does not disappoint.

    Rock On is a second-chance romance that tells the hot hot story of Summer and Ben. Summer Michelle is an up and coming pop star who is being targeted by someone unknown because of her involvement in a popularity contest to be the latest big thing - Jade Glow's - opening act. Her competition is an old rival from Summer's reality TV show days - Tawny Renee - and due to the threats on her life, Summer is also revisited by another familiar face from her TV days; none other than old flame and now her new bodyguard, Ben Hollander.

    Summer describes Ben best:
    "Jet-black tousled hair, piercing blue eyes, strong jaw, and full lips she’d once experienced gliding over her body, bringing her to a fevered state of arousal, and kissing her like she’d never been kissed before. In their short time together, Ben Hollander had ruined her for all other men"

    Ben has bounced back after being fired from his job after his previous steamy affair with Summer. Ben doesn't want to go there again - especially now he is tasked with keeping Summer safe - but the sexual tension and attraction between the two of them is high. But having been burned once, and with family issues as well, Ben is desperately trying to keep things professional.

    Despite not being a hugely lengthy story, Carly Phillips manages to deliver well-rounded characters in both Summer and Ben. They display real emotions, have genuine backgrounds as well as having a real connection - add in Carly's ability to include sexual chemistry that is off the charts, and Rock Me is an absolutely fantastic book.

    I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. The glimpses we got of some of Ben's colleagues has got me ready to find out more.

    Rock Me really drew me in from the very beginning and it stayed that way throughout. As it was a really enjoyable, engaging, sweet second chance romance. With likable characters, a story that was easy to read, low angst and one that even had a little suspense. Which when it came to ahead it was exciting to read. As well as being a great start to a new series. Which I'm looking forward to reading more from in the future.

    This was a nice, easy, romantic read. The story moved along fluidly, was original and believable. The characterizations were good and were were a wide range of characters involved in this mystery, suspense, romance. Within the length of this story, they characters were clearly defined but if the story was a bit longer there might have been more opportunity to evidence growth in characters. I did like to see that both the main male character and the main female character, each had close, supporting friendships. A good read overall.
