One of the best book I've read–EVER.
5 out of 5 stars
One of the best book I've read–EVER.
Royally Matched earned all the crowns! With Emma Chase's writing prowess of male POV like no other, this book has everything a romance novel should have. It's fun, sexy, very romantic and characters (cocky prince and a silent-type bookish girl who's not even part of the Matched show) that you'd totally fall in love with. The laugh out loud moments were balanced by the intense, heart-tugging emotions that were spilling through the end of the story. Beautiful and out of this world in every turn. Royally Matched is Emma's BEST. BOOK. YET. Forget Nicholas, Henry will own you body and soul.

When I read Royally Screwed, I absolutely loved Prince Nicholas but he is going to have to move on over because Henry has taken over the #1 spot in my heart between the two brothers!

Up until a few months ago, Henry was just the spare to the heir with few cares in the world. He embraces living life to its fullest which has given his grandmother Queen Lenora more than a few moments of frustrations, but now that Nicholas has abdicated his place in line for the throne, Henry is feeling the pressure of being the future king- and he is absolutely hating it. He has always been the lovable goof who will break the tension with a good joke or prank, and he is both chafing against and drowning under the weight of the new expectations and responsibilities placed upon him. Nicholas realizes that his brother is struggling and he returns to Wessco to try to ease the way a bit with their grandmother. He has faith in Henry's ability to rise above it all, and his comparisons between Henry and their mom would be wonderful if Henry thought they were actually true when he overhears Nicholas and the queen talking. She reluctantly takes Nicholas's advice and takes a vacation leaving Henry to find his way on his own... and oh boy, the trouble that man can find! Enter an American producer pitching a bit of fun for him to sink his teeth into: a royal version of the reality TV show Matched where he can find his future queen if the urge strikes him to do so. Game on, it's time for Henry to get his groove back!

As the contestants start showing up, Henry comes face to face with a quiet beauty who intrigued him in the past: Sarah Titebottum. She agreed to come along to try to keep her sister Penny out of trouble while she competes on the show, but Sarah is completely out of her element even though she will remain in the shadows observing it all. Sarah is a quiet soul who loves her books, particularly the classics, and I loved how she equated everything in her life to a certain character or scene from a beloved book. Once upon a time she was daring but she stills bears the scars of those choices in her psyche today. Now she panics in unknown situations as she lives in a certain amount of fear at all times, and loud noises can trigger PTSD-related blackout events.

When Henry finds her hiding out in the woods reading one of her favorite novels, he can't help but notice her beauty beneath the plain exterior even as he enjoys a little verbal sparring and fun with her. And yes, Henry has a little bit of fun with her last name as he discovers how much fun it is to make her blush with his constant innuendos! Sarah may be quiet, but it's those quiet ones you need to watch out for. Although Henry is supposed to be paying attention to the contestants, insomnia and nightmares drive him to seek quiet and solitude which surprisingly leads him to Sarah's door. She has plenty of spirit and she finds herself responding to Henry as an equal rather than as the future king of their land because he makes it easy to talk to him with his carefully calculated verbal pokes guaranteed to get a rise out of her. He just never expects her to be able to see him so easily when so many others are too busy trying to figure out what it is that he can do for them. She realizes that he has never really felt needed in the grand scheme of his family and that he uses humor to deflect and camouflage the depth of both his feelings and his vulnerabilities, and she sees his potential even if he chooses not to believe in it. He is both fiercely protective and caring, and she finds herself falling hard for the simultaneously sexy and adorable man... but she is sure it can only lead to heartache for her if she continues down that path.

The slow burn and UST between them was so well written, and I loved every minute of it! Henry definitely smolders and he is drop dead sexy, but he also instinctively knows just how far and how hard to push Sarah to expand her horizons. Her daring side is still there hidden beneath her fears and scars, and it slowly starts to emerge under Henry's careful guidance. When they finally give in to the chemistry and desire, I am surprised they don't spontaneously combust!

As the shenanigans of the show continue around him, Henry finds himself in yet another sticky situation. He can't deny that he is falling for Sarah, but he has committed to Matched and has a contract that must be honored unless he can find a way out of it. Sarah's belief in him reaches Henry in a way that no one else has been able to, and he knows that he cannot let her go. Sarah's fear of attention and her painful past are a concern for him but he is sure that they can find a way to navigate this mess to find a future together if she is willing to take a chance on truly living again. In typical Henry fashion, he mucks it all up a bit before he reaches deep, mans up and finds a way to fix it. The last few chapters were pretty unexpected but they felt like the perfect path to their HEA. Royally Matched is one of my new favorite reads of the year and I cannot recommend it enough!

In book one, Royally Screwed, I met a completely different Prince Henry Pembrook of Wessco. The spare-heir appeared to be the stereotypical overindulged, out of control, rich blue blood. His days were filled with reckless adventures and his nights with parties, booze, and an endless parade of beautiful women. I liked that he didn’t take his nobility too seriously, and his irreverent humor slayed me, but I had my reservations about him. Keeping in mind Emma Chase has never given me a hero I didn’t love, I wasn’t overly concerned about Royally Matched.

Nothing will straighten you out and sober you up quicker than suddenly becoming the future king of your monarchy. Is it any wonder that Henry’s whole demeanor changes as he struggles to adjust to duty and responsibility?

Well, maybe he hasn’t changed completely. His first royal undertaking is to participate in a reality dating show where he chooses his future queen from twenty handpicked Wesscovian royals. Really, what could go wrong?

Often those who are the loudest, most exuberant, and devil-may-care are holding back large parts of themselves. That is Henry. The sarcastic wit remains, but the brash partier is nowhere to be found. In his place is a caring man with a huge heart and strong convictions. When he first revealed himself, he reduced me to tears. When he demonstrated the lengths he would go to for those he loves, he captured a piece of my heart.

Lady Sarah Von Titebottum’s impetuous sister is chosen as one of the Matched contestants, so she tags along as chaperon. It isn’t long before Henry stumbles upon Sarah reading one of her beloved books. He’s instantly intrigued by her guilelessness, sharp wit, and quiet beauty. She becomes his safe haven from the chaos of the show and the ever present cameras. The two quickly become allies, then more.

My favorite type of heroine is strong, embraces her sexuality, exudes confidence, and doesn't suffer fools or alphas. Outwardly, Sarah isn't any of those things. But she showed me it's possible to be those things yet extremely shy and perfectly flawed. Because when provoked, she is fierce. When nurtured, she blossoms. Henry excels at making her blossom. And blush. I adored her.

I thought Nicholas & Olivia’s story was the author’s most romantic, yet she’s surpassed herself with Henry & Sarah’s. Theirs is utterly charming and emotional. I lost count of how many times I was reduced to a blubbering mess. That’s not to say it’s not fun and sexxy too. It’s equally as humorous. With the quirky cast Emma Chase has created, there’s no way it couldn’t be. It will definitely keep you laughing, sighing, crying, and wanting more of this awesome new series.

Royally Matched is a perfect follow up to Royally Screwed, although it can be read as a standalone.

Now that I’ve gotten more of this royal family and their entertaining entourage, bring on Royally Endowed!

    5 TITEBOTTUM STARS

Gahhhh! I want to rewind the last 24 hours and start this all over again. I adored this book. My cheeks hurt from smiling and I'm going to have a crap book hangover for days, but who cares because ROYALLY MATCHED was soooo worth the wait.

Fellow book friends, you're going to fan girl over Emma CHASE after this read if you haven't already. She has a way with words, I tell ya. You know you're going to love a book when the first word written is, "BALLS". I mean, come on, if you haven't got a sense of humour, don't bother picking up this read because folks, I laughed my ass off. I also wanted to cry and throw my kindle, but I digress. Just read it already ;)

Firstly, I need to address the hilarious names of people in this book! Lady Sarah Von Titebottum? Who comes up with this stuff? Insert any crude joke you want but I bet CHASE has already thought of it. Nevertheless, Lady Sarah is a star. Quiet and reserved, noble and smart, but sharp witted and lovely-these are just a very few of her wonderful qualities. Standing at the front of a room before hundreds of people is not Sarah's idea of fun. So when an opportunity presents itself to avoid a presentation she's dreading, she doesn't think twice on it. She hands in her notice for a leave and off she goes. Getting cozy with the Prince of Wesseco wasn't really on the agenda, but who follows those things anyway.

Prince Henry was everything I wanted him to be. Funny, brilliant, clever and crude. Sensitive and eloquent, loyal and royal. Not only a prince, but a man of many hidden talents and qualities. Everyone thinks they know the man behind the title but only one lucky lass has that pleasure. Bored and not wanting to act on his responsibilities as future King, he decides it's time to shake things up a bit--but heaven forbid, the queen must never know.

The time Henry and Sarah spend together is gorgeous. So well written and beautifully crafted. Poignant and endearing. I found myself going back and reading some of the more intimate scenes more than once and I just couldn't get enough. A true and real fairy tale. One with a prince who has his flaws but rallied to rise and become the royal he wanted to be-not only for his family, his country or himself, but for Sarah.

A completely different story from Royally Screwed, a slower more intense burn this time around but no less sexy. I feel like I waited eons for this read-but having finished this little slice of awesome, I'm glad I had to wait. It made the real life version so much more and it was utterly and completely worth the wait.

I think I’ve found my new favourite romance author! For real, Emma Chase is incredibly talented and a genius. She keeps you hooked from the first page (which is important) and her penmanship is beautiful and sassy. What more could you possibly want? Oh, yes, the alpha and the heroine a both of which are beyond perfect.

Ahhh, this series!! If you haven’t already, BUY THESE BOOKS - I promise you won’t be disappointed. The people that haven’t loved the story of Nicholas or Henry have screws loose in their brains.

Prince Henry is much like our Princes Harry in England. He’s enlisted before in the army, he’s the wild child, lost his mother at a very young age and then fell in love (though unlike our prince Harry, Sarah isn’t American). He’s charisma’s and will easily charm the pants off of readers. He’s naughty but caring and wild and loving. What more could you ask for in a main character. He was fabulous.
Sarah - the shy, innocent girl - takes Henry by storm. She’s a virgin, she’s quiet and she’s s challenge he is willing to accept. They’re polar opposites, but at the same time perfectly matched. They do say opposites attract, don’t they?

The storyline itself is brilliantly thought out and hilariously entertaining. It has the perfect amount of drama and electricity that make it an easy read but definitely one that you can’t keep your claws out off.

    Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
    More. More. More.
