4 stars — This was cute, but I ended up feeling disappointed by the length…and part of that is because the copy from Amazon (which might not have been the case with the one newsletter subscribers received) ends at 55%, and following that there are previews of other books by Emma Chase. Which is awesome, but because I didn’t know that, I reached the end and I was like “wait what?” since I thought there was still twice as much book left to read. I think if I’d known that ahead of time, it might not have been quite as jarring and thus disappointing. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m always going to want these things to be longer, but it was a lot about expectations vs reality, you know?

Henry and Sarah were still adorable, I loved seeing Nicholas and Olivia too. I enjoyed knowing how their lives had mapped out 20 years down the line, at least a little bit. I was amused by Henry’s attempts to talk to his eldest daughter and try to mitigate her sense of entitlement… I was a bit disappointed not knowing how that was going to end up, but perhaps that just means there may be a spin-off series for the next generation sometime in the future? I told my hubby about Jane and the conversation with Henry, and he thought there should be another book a further 20 years down the line and it’s a dystopian because Jane didn’t learn and grow…I told him he should tell Ms. Chase when we see her at our next book event. 😛

So yeah, fun, Henry and Sarah still awesome, just short.

Set 20 years after ROYALLY MATCHED, ROYALLY RAISED is a check-back-in with the couples from the series, when Princess Jane is almost of age. I enjoyed the parents' look at their daughter (and niece) as she's both brilliant and immature, shining and rough around the edges. It's good to see marriages of 20 years still going strong. It's good to see dads, whether King or pauper, stressing over daughters. I'd hoped this short story could stand alone, as I've not yet read the series, but I'd say I definitely missed a lot given I didn't know the older generation. But this short did introduce me to Emma Chase's writing.

This short needs a good editor. Dropped punctuation, repetitious words, misused words ("I peak around the door" should obviously be "I peek around the door").

Royally Raised is a delightful quick peek into the future of Wessco. This story gives a glimpse of Henry and Sarah and their kids, now that Henry is King. Since Henry and Sarah are my favorite royal couple in this series, it was great to see them and their families and friends, even briefly. This story is a sweet treat for longtime readers of this series, and definitely leaves them wanting more.

Henry is the king of Wessco, after the death of his grandmother, Queen Lenora. And his eldest daughter, Jane, at age 19, was the queen's copy.
In her haughty way, she still had much to learn about being royalty, and-irony of fate-it was Henry who would have to teach her. The most rowdy of the family.
In addition to Jane, the couple Henry and Sarah had more children.
Nicholas and Olivia, after the birth of the twins, decided to stay in the country.

This monarchic family still seems to have a lot of story to tell on the next generations.

A cute and short novella that takes place 20 years after Royally Matched. It's a snapshot of Henry and Sarah's lives, with their children in the future. It cannot be read as a standalone, but you can read book 2 (Royally Matched) as a standalone without having to read book 1 (but book 1 is amazing so you should read it anyways).

Basically this short story is a nice little gift from the author to her fans. Thanks Emma!

Twenty years after the events in "Royally Endowed" the royal family of Wessco is back. Henry and Nicholas are now in their fifties. They are still very much in love with their wives even their children are sometimes major headaches.

I love novellas or short stories like this that revisit characters after their happily ever after. Henry and Sarah's story was my favorite in the Royally series and I was thrilled to get peek into their future happiness. Plus, now I'm dying for a book about their eldest daughter, Jane, journey to find humility and love. The only negative of this story is that is definitely for fans of the other books in this series with their not being enough story for new readers.

A glimpse of life in the castle twenty years later. Only about a chapter length long. Shows Henry and Sarah with their five children and a snippet of Nicholas and Olivia. Henry is concerned heir apparent Jane doesn't respect the people she will one day govern. He both sees Queen Lenora in Jane, and sympathizes with what his grandmother had to go through raising him and his brother. A sweet little window into the future.

If you haven't read this series, then you don't exist in a perfect world. Where everything is just as we all experience it but sprinkles with royalty. Its intense, its real, its heartbreaking, it joyous and most of all there's love and second chances.

Get your copy because Emma Chase is awesome and all should experience her writing.
