4.2 out of 5 stars 1,824 ratings

Charming, hilarious, and emotional, Starry-Eyed Love is Helena Hunting at her very best!

Having just broken up with her boyfriend, London Spark is not in the mood to be hit on. Especially not when she’s out celebrating her single status with her sisters. So when a very attractive man pays for their drinks and then slips her his number, she passes it right back to him with a ‘thanks, but no thanks’. As the business administrator for their family’s event hotel, the Spark House, London has more important things to worry about, like bringing in new clientele.

As luck would have it, a multi-million-dollar company calls a few months later asking for a meeting to discuss a potential partnership, and London is eager to prove to her sisters, and herself, that she can land this deal. Just when she thinks she has nailed her presentation, the company’s CEO, Jackson Holt, walks in and inserts himself into the meeting. Not only that, but he also happens to be the same guy she turned down at the bar a few months ago.

As they begin to spend more time together, their working relationship blossoms into something more. It isn’t until their professional entanglements are finally over, that London and Jackson are finally ready to take the next step in their relationship. But between Jackson’s secretive past and London’s struggle with her sisters, London must question where she really stands - not just with Jackson, but with the Spark House, too.

London and Jackson are magic together!

London and Jackson are magic together!
I was so excited to be back with the Spark sisters for London’s story and it didn’t disappoint! While this wasn’t much of a surprise to me given that Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors, I still wasn’t prepared for how much I really loved London and Jackson. If you haven’t read the first book, no worries as I think this one is a pretty good standalone! There wasn’t really anything not to like about either London or Jackson and together they are magic! I have to mention the relationship between the three sisters, as it’s really beautiful even if Avery was getting on my nerves at times, (and everyone else’s), their love for each other is still apparent. I feel like they are real people and that I’m cheering them on as they grow the Spark House! London and Jackson’s story is kind of a second chance, billionaire, workplace romance and I really thought the conflict was going in another direction than it did! Due to their working relationship it is slow burn, but does get steamy as soon as they get past that🔥 While there are some sad things mentioned (parents death in the past), other than that it is relatively light on the angst and full of the wit and humor I’ve come to expect from the author!

Whoa. Starry Eyed Love gives new meaning to a slow burn romance. I was beginning to wonder if they’d ever kiss. But no worries, Helena Hunting finally gives us readers what we want about 65% in. ⁣

I really like the dynamic between the sisters - one minute it’s all sisterly love and in the next, one or more of them annoy the other. It almost makes me wish I had sisters. Almost. ⁣

This is the second in the Spark House series. I enjoyed this book more than book 1 even with the extreme slow burn. Because it starts out with London and Jackson’s working together for a big event, much of the first half is spent on business matters with them secretly pining for the other. I found the details of the event planning interesting (although some may not). But once that is out of the way, their relationship really develops and sparks fly. ⁣

Starry-Eyed Love has a little something for everyone. It’s funny, charming, and has some angst/emotional moments in the second half. There is steam, but not as much as in her indie series. ⁣

And for fans of this author, there are Easter eggs from the Shacking Up series to be on the lookout for. ⁣

After reading and not really liking the first book in this series, I am so surprised that I liked this book as much as I did. I honestly was not a fan of London in the first book, but liked her so much more in this book. Although she seemed like such a push over in this book. I'm not usually a fan of millionaire romances, and this one felt almost 50 Shades for me ( as far as an orphaned child, who built an empire. But not erotica or even close to being that steamy, but it was open door), but at the end of the day I really liked Jackson. I did like the premise of this book, but didn't care for how instalovey it was. I have adored Harley as a secondary character in both books in this series and am excited to get to hers when it comes out.

I enjoyed When Sparks Fly, Avery and Declan's story, so I was all in on London's book. I have to say that I love the dynamic between the sisters, but I was a little disappointed in Avery in this book. I'll tell you why in a little while.
I loved London!! She was such a lovable character. She's loyal, honest, funny, creative, strong, and wonderful character!! I loved how she knew what she wanted, even if she was afraid to find it. She finally realizes that she's been protecting her heart since her parents deaths. Afraid of the hurt that will happen when the person she gives her heart to leaves. It was beautiful to see her grow when she finally admits this to herself.
Jackson was an interesting character. He was very dynamic, almost larger then life. He was also very charismatic!!! He had charm for days!! I did love how he made time for London once he realized he really liked her. I wasn't too fond of him keeping things from her, but I kinda get why he did. Typical cluelessness of being a man.
Jackson and London had similar experiences with parental loss at a young age. I think this bonded them without them really knowing it. And their chemistry was off the charts!!! So HOT!! It was there from their first meeting and never wavered! I also loved that although they lived in different states, they worked to make their relationship solid.
Loved Harley and can't wait for her to get her HEA!!! She's such a wonderful person. Now Avery. She struck me as stubborn in her book, but she takes it to a whole new level in this book!! I really didn't like her much. Wanted to smack her several times!! She was just being selfish and stubborn, so uncaring for her sisters struggles!! I was so proud of both London and Harley when they finally made her listen!
I wasn't a fan of Jackson's best friend, Trent, either. He kept trying to throw London under the bus by putting horrible ideas into Jackson's head!! I'm so glad he never listened to him. And I was on the fence with Selene. She kinda pissed me off when she decided to act like the pushed aside lover, but she really made up for it in the end. I admire her for what she did for Jackson and London.
Overall, I really enjoyed the romance between Jackson and London. Some people complained that they didn't even kiss until about 3/4ers into the book, but I think this built the romance into what it became! I loved the slow build up. And the epilogue was just fantastic!! Can't wait for Harley's book!!!

What a great and romantic story for London and Jackson! This story has a little angst, romance, courtship, lies, surprises chemistry, heartbreak, love and comic relief all roles into one.

London and Jackson meet by chance 3 months after age turns him down in a bar for a date. The two start working together and sparks fly, however Jackson is set on keeping things professional until their business event is over. When they get to that point, all bets are off and sparks fly for these two. I loved their awkwardness at times and their banter. Spark House becomes busier from all their recent new accounts that the stress of it all impacts the sisters. I love the dynamic these threes have, they may argue like sisters sometimes but they love and support each other fiercely!

We get glimpses of Avery and Declan and see what they’ve been up to! Thus story has a dreamy HEA!

A modern, old-fashioned, slow burn love story. There is something irresistible when a man falls hard for his lady, and treats her so gently.

I admire how different all of Helena Hunting’s stories are. A gifted talent.

The second in the Spark House series, this one follows middle sister London. When she's asked to present for an opportunity that could bring huge revenue to Spark House, the last thing she expects is to meet the man she turned down at the bar a few months ago. Jackson Holt is immediately captivated by London. But he doesn't mix business with pleasure. But as soon as their work together is done? All bets are off.

I really loved London (and got really annoyed with Avery in this one). I also loved all of the Shacking Up Easter eggs. I do wish the dual POV had been a little more evenly spaced out, but it didn't spoil my overall enjoyment. My only real frustration was with the conflict. Jackson annoyed me a lot with his vague answers. That said, I really appreciated the resolution and I loved their chemistry. I also thought the themes of grief, bereavement, anxiety, lack of work/life balance, and pressures of long-distance relationships were really well integrated. And the Google doc sharing was an adorable touch.

I look forward to reading Harley's story.

Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting is the second book in the Spark House Series and this is London and Jackson‘s story. I love this book with my whole heart and it’s one of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year.

London is a business woman and she manages the finances for Spark House and she is also creative as she designs decorations for the events and also has an Etsy story. London is just so inspiring and I love her. When she wants to partner with some investors she meet Jackson but she is in no headspace to date anytime soon as she recently broke up with her boyfriend.

Jackson is also super successful and he is the CEO of a media and consulting company. He is the whole package and I loved him and how he encouraged London.

London and Jackson are a power couple and their romance is chef‘s kiss. I loved every page of their story and some of my favorite moments include their communication in a Google Doc as well as their deep talks. Plus you also get to see some amazing characters like the Mills brothers from Helena‘s other books.

This is book 2 of the Spark House series. Book 1 introduces us to the Spark's sisters Avery, London and Harley. Book 2 is London's story.
London has spent much of her adult life avoiding relationship where she could fall in love. Out with her sisters marking the end of her most recent relationship, an attractive man flirts with her, paying for their drinks & passing London his number.
A few months later life is as hectic as always for London at Spark House. When a multimillion dollar company reaches for a meeting about a potential partnership. Turns out the man from the bar is the CEO of this company. As attracted as they are to each other mixing business and pleasure is not smart. So they agree to be friends!
As they start spending time together, business related obviously! It is plain for everyone to see that London and Jackson have feelings for each other. Though neither London or Jackson seem to realise what is going on. At least not initial. When they do figure out their deal, they decide that once the event is over they will give their relationship a chance.
Jackson is secretive about his past and a lie off omission puts their fledging relationship in jeopardy. While London is struggling with finding a balance in her life, business pressure from her sisters & no time for her passions.
This is a beautfully written, slow burn romance with plenty going on around our couple to give the story body without over shadowing London & Jackson. All the characters are well developed, we even have Avery turning into a bit of a bridezilla.
