Vanishing Dream: Shandra Higheagle Mystery Kindle Edition
Shandra Higheagle Greer’s deceased Nez Perce grandmother appears in her dream, dancing at a powwow. Since Grandmother only appears when there is a murder, Shandra believes, she, Ryan, and the twins should attend the yearly Powwow at the Colville Reservation.
While out for a walk the first night, Shandra sees someone lurking in the dark between the vendor tents. A vendor is discovered the next morning strangled with her own beads.
When members of Shandra’s family are attacked, she finds it hard to stay out of the investigation. While Ryan is working with the Tribal Police, Shandra follows a suspect and is captured. No one knows her whereabouts. Calling upon her grandmother to come to her aid, Shandra realizes the dreams are vanishing and fears so could her life.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2021This was another great story in the Shandra Higheagle series! Shandra and Ryan take the twins to meet her relatives... and, of course, Shandra stumbles onto a murder!
I really love this story (and series) because of the wonderful storytelling, the great characters, and the inclusion of Native American culture! Paty Jager really tells her story beautifully so that you are just captivated with the story... you feel that you are there - and you feel the emotions of the characters as well! The characters are human, and we see that they grow, too, with the story. Shandra and Ryan feel like old friends! I love when a story teaches me something new as well as offers me an escape - it just really enhances my enjoyment!
The author is one of my favorites - and I love EVERYTHING that she has written thus far! Too, I really can't wait for her next story! Each story gets even better than the last - and this is the best of the series!
While I had been given an ARC, I am freely sharing my love for the book. I bought copies for myself and others to support this amazing author... and spread the love of a great story.

A vendor is found murdered and Shandra and Ryan find themselves involved in the investigation. The book was fast paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2021Never say never. The closing of one chapter in life leads to another perhaps. I sincerely hope so. All of the books in the series get 5 stars. Enjoy!!!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2024I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in this series. I always look for books that are some how connected to Native Americans.
Part Jager’s writing is very real the character development is superb. I felt closer than a casual reader.
Since I’m always looking for series with multiple books this one fit my needs to a tee.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2023This writer desperately needs an editor. This reads like a first draft in a voice to text program. Good story ideas but poor writing skills are seriously distracting.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2021I loved the pow wow setting in this last installment of the series. It brought Native American culture to the forefront of a good murder mystery series. The action was fast paced & the story twisted enough to satisfy any mystery buff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous, well worth reading...
Fabulous story as usual, I always buy these books on release and devour them.
Shandra, Ryan and the children are at the annual pow wow when there's a murder, once again, Ryan and Shandra are in the thick of it.
Characters from previous books are in this one too, so it's best to have read the other books in the series to know how everyone fits in, but it's not necessary.
I'm looking forward to the new series, new books in the Gabriel Hawke series and for the return of Ryan and Shandra in the future.
These are really good reads and well worth adding to your need to read list, especially if you like mysteries.
