    Nine (Issac) a self-made renovation expert has developed a following with his YouTube series on renovation projects. Not pursuing fame or fortune, just wanting to help people with home projects, has developed a significant following and captured the attention of a hardware and tool company to create a series for the LGBT community.

    Cooper and Nine have circled around each other having grown up in the same area and their brothers being best friends. Now find their worlds intersecting with an offer from the tool company to create the YouTube series. The financial incentive is so compelling for Cooper as it could make a bone marrow transplant available for his brother.

    These two, very opposite characters come together in a staged relationship to create the series.
    Nine’s quiet strength, unwavering compassion to help others, talent at all things “construction” and his brooding, sexy demeanor mixes with Cooper’s self-protective independence, creates a wonderful story of discovery, healing, fun, tension, creativity and what it means to take a leap. Those who say no are rewarded with safety. Those who say yes are rewarded with adventure.

    This book was just super feel good. Nine is such a giant sweetheart who is kind of lost in the ways of career and love. His attraction to Cooper is kind of a gay awakening for him, but even though he is from a small conservative town and family he is never scared of his feelings for Cooper, or ashamed of who knows how he feels. Watching their relationship progress over the summer just gave me all the butterflies. This is pretty low angst, but Cooper is trying to break into the acting scene, so his potential work in LA and Nine’s potential work after this project cause a little miscommunication due to them trying to figure out where their lives are taking them and what that means for their relationship. Quiet Nine also finds out he has a little bit of a bossy side in bed. We love to see it.

This storyline kept me really engaged with the book and characters and I only wanted the best for both men. I absolutely adored this book and could have stayed in this world forever.

    This is such a triumph of the gay4you genre that it might actually compel me to overcome my hesitancy in reading such books. Of course, it would help if they are by Lucy Lennox, who rarely fails to deliver on a promise, and in this one she delivers in spades because not only is the plotline believable but the MCs are absolutely perfectly drawn.

    Nine (real name Isaac) is the ninth of 10 children born into a rural Wyoming family of stereotypical bent--you can figure that out I am sure. He is 24-year-olld, bigger than your average bear, and on the cover thank goodness. Cooper is Nine's brother Eli's best friend, gay as a goose, Hollywood addicted and well aware that Nine hates him for no real reason so he returns the favor.

    Until Nine's wildly popular DIY YouTube series attracts the attention of a big time sponsor. Somehow at the same time Cooper has come home to Colorado (near the Wyoming border town where Nine Lives) to help his disease afflicted brother to plan for a marrow transplant that only Cooper can give him.

    It's really not that complicated.

    Just trust me on this. I kept saying to myself how could this work? We have one totally open arrogant actor wannabe and one totally muted arrogant handyman bear thrown together in an RV with an adorable golden retriever and what do you get?

    Read it and find out, you will love it as I did.

    Let's just say the Blurb is not doing this book justice. What a great premise to construct a story on!
    I just loved the entire project and the way Lucy Lennox writes. I'm always excited to read where she's gonna take us.
    The Only complain I have is with Cooper not doing enough for Nine. I think it was well established that Nine will never say No to anyone, at times to his own disadvantage and being aware that Cooper saw that and yet was still hesitant to take a plunge or be the one to take any initiative was a bit difficult. Again all the burden fell on Nine to cross the bridge. Also I'm not including the epilogue in this complaint because that doesn't matter.

    Such a sweet and fun story of discovery, both in romance and in life path. With two people that were not quite enemies, not quite friends, and overall not quite sure of each other having to work and live in close quarters to get money they need and jobs they think they want, this story had plenty of self discovery and lots of love!

    Nine is sort of the forgotten kid of his family as far as he can tell. The ninth kid out of ten but with nothing remarkable about him, he stays out of the spotlight. But when it comes to helping out Nine is always there. When it turns out his brother's best friend's twin needs money for a surgery, Nine can't say no to faking gay for a YouTube show. Nine has never really been interested in anything sexual and helping just comes naturally to him. Having lived with a traditional Catholic family in a small farming town the spectrum of sexuality hasn't really come up, though he has some idea he may not fall heteronormative. As he gets away from the structure of his town and has the freedom of trying out a different relationship things start to open in ways he didn't expect. Nine gets to discover more about himself and what he may want in his life.

    Cooper has always wanted to be an actor. His time in LA wasn't entirely successful, but Coop is still determined to get what he is sure will be best life. His father leaving his family has made Coop determii not to lean on anyone, his mother having made sure her boys will never be dependent on anyone. But there is a difference between dependence and support, and Coop can't even imagine leaning for help when something so important is on the line. Working with Nine starts to break down that barrier but it isn't an easy thing to let go of. With LA calling for acting, the need for money, and a terrifying surgery coming up Coop has to figure out if he wants to hold to his independence or if he can keep it while still accepting help.

    With lots of sweet heat, discovery, and amazing development, this was a great read! As a bonus grab the follow-up short that tells the story of another pair that pop up to make it all just perfect!

    This book has been in my list for ages. I regret that it took me so long to actually read it! It's fun, the characters are adorable, it sometimes made me cry, and I couldn't stop reading. I've borrowed it but I'm absolutely buying it now to re-read it as much as I want!
