Tank could not have been a better name for this man! He didn't come quietly and he certainly left an impression. This book showed both sides of Drina beautifully, she's not what people think, and that's the truth about most of us. I absolutely love Sybil and recommend her books at LEAST once a day!

    I absolutely adore Sybil Bartel’s work!!! Her books are smart, steamy and intriguing!! Did I mention they are hysterically funny too? She is one of my favorites especially when it comes to her smooth, seamless flow and her spectacular world building skills. There hasn’t been a book that she has written that I haven’t loved. Scandalous is no exception. I was hooked from the very first page and I didn’t put it down until I was finished that evening. From the first sentence that came out of Tank’s mouth, I knew he was going to be a fantastic character. I’m thankful to the author for giving us such a strong female lead in Audrina. She has an adorable quirk that was unexpected and charming. He has made some strange lifestyle choices that are also unexpected but heartbreaking. On the surface, the two couldn’t be more different but after you peel back the layers, you realize that they fit together perfectly. This is an amazing story that was beautifully written.

    While this book and most of Sybil Bartel’s can be read as a stand-alone, all of the books intersect in one way or another with this incredible world she has created in her previous books. This usually includes appearances from some of our most beloved characters. Because of this, every time I open a new Sybil Bartel book, it feels like coming home again and I mean that in the best way possible! Tank and Audrina are already characters that I look forward to coming home to visit again in future books. I highly recommend this book as well as all books by this author!!!!

    This author has some of the best dialogue from the male POV. In particular the H's inner dialogue and the banter between the team. This book lacked interaction with the rest of the team, so I missed that aspect. While I didn't much care for the hero in this book, the author always warns us she writes Alphas. He had his moments. The h was interesting. She made bad decisions but she also had a lot of grit. The story was straightforward and predictable but not boring, but I wanted more depth. The story felt rushed like there was so much more to it that bubbled just under the surface that we never got to see. I just wanted more of everything. A slower burn, more interaction, more details, more action, and a longer conclusion. This was not my favorite book in the series, but the author is always an entertaining read if you love great dialogue and emotionally stunted alphas that are bad boys, but good men.

    Audrina  "Drina" McKenzie is a young a-lister actress tired of her career that never felt like hers and Falcon "Tank" Gunther is her bodyguard in Sybil Bartell's Scandalous. What a great story this is, a fast-moving romance with two great characters.

    Not quite so much a romantic suspense as a straight contemporary romance, Scandalous follows how Tank gets swept up with Audrina as she deliberately throws away her career, threatening his ability to continue as one of Andre Luna's bodyguards in the process. Tank's dominant, alpha male attitude & sexy physique overwhelms Audrina, and her 4-yr dry spell of no men comes crashing to an end. Tank knows he shouldn't sleep with a client. But the attraction he feels for the fragile movie star overwhelms him. He connects with her like a "lock & key", as Tank tells himself.

    I connected with Audrina and Tank right away as these two's worlds collide in typical Sybil Bartel fashion. A hot, quick read, Scandalous is highly enjoyable romp as Audrina's world crashes down around her, leaving Tank her surprising refuge. There's the usual hiccup in the course of true love. Thankfully its a significant hiccup & not just a simple misunderstanding.

    Told in first person, Scandalous is a highly enjoyable read.

    "He wasn’t just naked and hot, he was every bad decision I’d never made but wished I had gorgeous."

    This one was a little hard for me to rate. I love alpha, controlling, possessive men but the first half of this book, Tank was just too much for me. He treats women like sex objects and trash, won't even kiss them. Then he plays weird psychological games with Audrina to "test" her. It doesn't matter if she fails or passes, he always finds some reason to be disappointed. He gets a bit better as it gets closer to the end but he still can't admit that he actually cares about her, even when he spends days looking for her and tries to get her to come home, he pretends it's all about business. It was infuriating.

    Audrina was a better character but not by much. She's a movie star who is ready to get out of the game and Tank is protecting her. What frustrates me about her is that even though Tank treats her like trash she repeatedly throws herself at him. I am always annoyed when authors have the female leads do that.

    So, while the story was semi-interesting and the book was well written, the characters really dragged down the rating for me. I mean, a dominate controlling man in bed doesn't have to be a completely chauvinistic, manipulative, pig! I had previously read another book in this series so I know that they aren't all like this so I'll continue the series but this one won't be making it to my re-read shelf.

    It was an interesting book and I'm intrigued about the next ones in this series.
    Tank and Audrina were intense and sexy, despite being so different from each other (or maybe because of it). Their chemistry was undeniable and combustible.
    I had some trouble connecting with them or even understanding their dynamics and actions. There was definitely more lust than love between them.
    It was hard finding their trail of feelings for each other, or even believing in said feelings.

    Even so, there was something about them that kept me invested in their story.
    And as I said, I'm really intrigued about the next books.

    I’d been looking forward to the release of this book so much. Sybil Bartel’s books never disappoint. After taking over baby sitting duties, or protection for the woman he believes is just another spoilt Hollywood celebrity, Tank begins to discover there is more to Audrina than he first thought. She’s tired of a lifestyle that doesn’t allow her to be herself, but merely a product of what her agent and everyone around her expects her to be. She might have made a lot of money from her career, but she’s really got nothing to show for it, other than to make those around her who manipulate and control her, very wealthy too.
    She likes Tank once she gets to know him better, but he doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t even kiss a woman. Sex is on his terms only and it’s never more than a one time deal. Still, it’s hard to fight the attraction between him and Audrina, despite the fact he does everything he can to push her away. She likes him though. He’s different to everyone else in her life. He seems interested in what she wants. Protecting her and her feelings. Not letting others take advantage of her. Something that’s been happening to her for years.
    But when something happens that puts Tank’s career at risk, he is furious with her, and she runs away. When he finally finds her, he discovers things about her past which helps him understand her better. It makes him want to protect her.
    No one writes alpha men quite like this author, and Tank is probably the most alpha of all her book men. I loved Tank and Audrina. It was a great story, a great book and I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
