Truth in life and love
I'm giving this book a 4.8 but that's not an option so I went for the 5. Well written, original story and loved the characters.
Jillian and her big brother, AJ Morella, have been through some of the worst problems life can throw at you. Their strong bond has given them the upper hand but then it's also their weakness. When AJ's old friend, Jameson Tate, shows up and offers them a hand they can't refuse. But why would they, the guys were close once and Jillian missed hanging with the boys. Even if Jameson isn't that boy anymore, but a strongly attractive man.
My full review was filled with spoilers but I'm going to save the surprise for you. It's seriously a "surprise". I'm going now to read the next story of author, Jane Anthony's, Chasing Casey.
Exhausting
Jillian and AJ are brother and sister who have lost both their parents. They now co-run a car repair and restoration business that is struggling. When Jameson, an old friend, comes back in town after a 5 year absence, he starts to fill in the gap around the shop. There is an immediate attraction between Jameson and Jillian, but so. Much. Unnecessary. Angst.
At first, Jameson tries to avoid the attraction out of respect of AJ, his old friend, even though Jillian pursues him to an almost embarrassing degree. Although, he is gentle and caring with her at all times. Communicates with her through it all. When he decides he can’t live without her, she uses every opportunity to push him away. A small, easily explainable misunderstanding? Well, she never wants to see him again. He looks at her cross-eyed? Don’t ever touch me again. She never gives him a chance to talk to her and immediately freaks out and it’s doomsday. Oh, but she still wants to have sex with him and will tell him that she wants nothing to do with him, wants nothing from him, but anytime she needs physical comfort, then he’s good enough. Honestly, I lost respect for Jameson. He should have walked out and made her GROVEL. Hard core GROVEL to come back to her. Poor guy. He is in for a rollercoaster of a life, especially after being dealt some pretty bad hands already in life.
Not continuing in this series. I can’t read any of these characters be abused by this author anymore. And AJ had almost no redemption in this book at all. The only person I liked less than Jillian was AJ, so to read 300 pages of his sanctimonious BS sounds like torture to me.
