I ruined her life. She’s about to ruin mine.

Love is a lie. At least, that’s what Damien Morgan has always believed. Women manipulate, deceive, and leave scars too deep to heal. It’s why he never lets them get close. But when his brother’s wedding forces him back into the same room as Serenity Hanscom, the one woman who has every reason to hate him, he realizes too late that some wounds never fade.

Serenity never wanted to step into the House of Morgan again. Not after what Damien’s family did to hers. But an invitation to Miami’s most exclusive wedding is too good for a businesswoman to refuse. It’s the kind of exposure her luxury spa empire needs. The only problem? Damien Morgan is there. The man who helped put her father behind bars. The man whose name her sister cursed as she went to prison. The man who—despite everything—she still can’t stop thinking about.

She swore she’d ignore him. He swore he’d never care. But in a world of billionaire grudges, power plays, and family secrets, walking away is never that simple.

Because the more they fight their attraction, the more dangerous it becomes. And when old betrayals resurface, Damien and Serenity will have to decide—

I was going to go with a 4 star but almost forgot this was book 7 in a series. I should have read some of the earlier ones to get a better feel on the Morgan family. So, fast paced, I wished it was a little longer. The events were rapid, fast in and fast out of problems but enough to let you know what was what. Serenity's character was a little empty but I got the gist of what her problems were. The sister, Serena was a scene stealer and I wished her spot was gone into a bit more. All in all I liked the story, got enough out of the plot to figure out that I need to read more of this series. It was, it seems a stand alone story and the ending was the ending. I did chuckle at Serenity's plan to bring Damien around to the "Love" realization. I could just picture the clueless look on his face! LOL I'd recommend it, yes.

I started the series here, in the middle. The characters were crazy and cute. The play of the characters off of each other was good. Being introduced to such a large family took a little time to get straight but it kept things interesting.

My biggest problem with the story is that WAY TOO MUCH happens in the span of a few days. It would have been easy to stretch the timeline (even making it all occur over just as many weeks, instead of days, would have felt more natural) to make it easier to wrap your mind around. I'll go back and read the other books but I'm not a hurry do so.

Book did well when dealing with the action scenes and beginning relationship. But what is frustrating is the fickle thinking of the main characters. From one page to the next, she has changed her mind whether stay with Damien or leave him. It really shows how poorly written the dialogue and internal thoughts are.

Another book that had me turning the page. Loved it. Strong and smart heroine. Tall, dark, handsome and protective hero. Love of hurdles for the two of them to overcome. In the end love conquered all. On to another book in the series.

Serenity & Damián both had disastrous, criminal fathers, although they didn't know at the time. This made both of theme have trust issues. How did Serenity end up married to the "enemy"?

This story was really good. There was so much happening, so the really bad angst parts were quickly solved. As I said the story moved along very quickly,. And even though some things were solved quicly, there were other happenings to take their place.

I loved the whole story, but I do wish the ending wasn't so abrupt.

Are you kidding me with this drivel? No chemistry between characters. I was 25% in before I stopped torturing myself to finish this book. I fast forwarded to the end to find out it didn't matter. If I could have given this so called book half a star of no stars I would have. It's not worth your time to try to read this mess of a book.

In 182 pages we had... a sister who tried to murder a women who was marrying a brother in law (???), a huge wave out of no where that made a woman go overboard, a one night stand resulting in a pregnancy, a literally. Literally, marriage proposal the same day the pregnancy is revealed, after a month long hiatus from speaking, a women getting ran over by another woman resulting in a miscarriage, a man kidnapping a woman to sell into sex slavery resulting in another overboard swim to shore moment, a break up, a get back together, a mother falling in love with some Swiss dude, and twins.

    182 pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every one of those books is so good. Every time the author writes a new one

Although this is a continuing story of the house of Morgan I think it could be read on its own. However, I think you would get more out of it to read as a series. Every one of those books is so good. Every time the author writes a new one, I cannot wait to read it. Great story and great series.

Too many bizarre things happening at once. I have no interest in finding out what happens to anyone, there isn’t one character who is likeable. Thankfully it was a free book!

2.0 out of 5 stars Completely unbelievable
Reviewed in Australia on August 14, 2019
Cramming in enough for a year's soap opera over a hundred or so pages isn't needed and only makes the story unbelievable.
*Spoiler* I only read up to just after the big wave that knocked her off the boat then skimmed read past the one-night stand without protection and onto the pregnancy. All this by page 42 mind you.

Another reviewer says the book also contains a woman getting run over, a miscarriage, a kidnapping of a woman to sell into sex slavery, another overboard swim, a breakup, a get back together, a mother falling in love with some Swiss guy and twins. Phew! I can't be bothered to read but I can believe it.

I guess a young adult might like this pace but I prefer characters with some depth and a more mature pace.

While I appreciate the author probably has a word limit, it seems there is too much crammed into too short a space. Makes for a disjointed, rushed story. Could have been much longer and better descriptive narrative; overall left me feeling disappointed.
