I just came off of a heavy historical romance novel and was pursuant of a lighter read still with substance. This story fit the bill. I am a true fan of Vi Keeland’s stellar writing and creative story telling that melts one’s heart! This book is no exception. The familiar trope is the swoon worthy male lead with a heart of gold and emotional scars that need to be revealed. In this case it is Hunter Delucia. Hunter and Natalia (Nat) meet at their best friends’ wedding and with a few obstacles in their path, eventually develop a connection that is froth with should we or shouldn’t we scenarios. The secondary characters are priceless. Izzy, Anna, Derek, Summer, and Bella are well developed and add SO much to the overall storyline.
This story addresses the complexity of life and the gut wrenching decisions/choices that are made as a result of devastating revelations. I deliberately want to remain vague so as not to include spoilers.
This story has many feel good moments and at times pulls at your heart strings. The two epilogues are overflowing with “warm fuzzies.” I recommend this thought provoking, tender, and spicy novel. Worth the read. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Vi Keeland is one of those authors that always delivers and once again Sex, Not Love ticked all those boxes. Sex, Not Love is one helluva swoon worthy romance while embracing the fears that many people have before embarking on putting their heart out there. This book was full of heart, emotion and real life and I couldn’t help but champion these two characters along.

“If Hunter was my real thing, why did I have to go back to imposters?”

Natalia Rossi and Hunter Delucia first meet at their best friend’s wedding and the instant attraction was sizzling. Neither want a relationship, neither succumb but it wasn’t for want of trying and smooth words. Having married best friends means that their paths keep crossing and that sizzling hot chemistry never wanes, no matter the months and months that pass.

“It’s been nine months, and here you are still chasing me after one night in my bed. And I didn’t even put out. Imagine the condition you’d be in if I did.”

Natalia was a great heroine, divorced at twenty-eight and incredibly jaded with the male species. However, she had all that Italian feistiness which made her character pop off the pages, Vi Keeland did an amazing job bringing this character to life. Natalia had a heart the size of Texas, put everyone before herself but she was no doormat, she was just inherently kind and generous.

Hunter Delucia on the outside was the typical commitment-phobe but there was a lot more to this utterly adorable man. Drop dead sexy, with a filthy mouth and the equipment to back it up, this man had it all, so why was he still single?

“You wore me down, and now you’ve worn me out, Mr. Delucia.”

Starting as friends with benefits with strictly no emotional attachment was a tall order considering the chemistry that these two shared, but they have a lot of issues between them to work through. I loved how Hunter’s past was slowly eeked out with flashbacks to the past and gave a greater insight to the man he is today.

“So if you want to protect her—really allow her to move on without it dragging out for years like things with my dad did—don’t leave her questioning. Because while the truth hurts, it’s like a Band-Aid when you rip it off. The pain goes away. It’s the lies and questioning that keep you aching for a long time.”

This was all about exploring a connection, breaking through the barriers and grabbing a once in a lifetime opportunity with both hands. Confiding, trusting and finding that soul mate, that no matter the bad, makes everything seem so much better. Absolutely adored it, read it one sitting and could easily re-read it again.

The more books I read by this author the more I fall in love with her writing. Her stories and characters just keep getting better and better. This book was so good, all I can really say is that this is a MUST READ!!!

Vi has a canny ability to create stories that are intriguing, engaging, heartfelt and of course off the charts sexy. Her books will bring out all the feels. Sex, Not Love is no different. I was laughing at times, but then I was kicked in the gut and my eyes had tears in them. But in the end she always puts me back together and I have a HUGE smile on my face.

What I love the most about Vi’s books is that she gives a fun and entertaining story but also so much more. Her books have such depth to them, you never really know what you’re going to get until you start reading. She knows how to balance the light and happy with the dark and sad perfectly. Her books flow perfectly and I always think the same thing in the end….I want more!!!

Sex, Not Love is her latest standalone novel and it is told in Dual POV (Kind of, you’ll understand once you read the story). You don’t need to read any of her other books to fully enjoy this story. Although if Vi is a new author to you, once you read this book, you will definitely want to go back and read all of her other books as well!!

In this story we meet Natalia and Hunter. Nat and Hunter meet for the first time at their friends wedding. Hunter was immediately captivated by Natalia and her by him, but since she just came out of a bad situation and lives in New York….she isn’t looking for anything serious. Little did she know that saying No and giving him a wrong number wouldn’t deter Hunter. I loved this story and these characters so much. I don’t want to say too much, just know you will want to read this story and meet these characters.

I also loved the secondary characters we met in this book. Anna and Derek (Nat and Hunter’s friends) brought some of the lighter scenes to the story, but were also great supports to both Nat and Hunter. Izzy gave us a “real” feel to what it is like to raise a stepchild that is a teenager. I loved watching that child grow as the story unfolded.

Sex, Not Love is so much more than a great love story, this story is about healing and moving on. So if you are looking for that fun and entertaining story that also packs an emotional punch, then this is the book you should read. If you are a fan of Vi Keeland’s you don’t want to miss this newest addition to her fantastic collection. If she is a new author to you….pick up this gem, you won’t be sorry!!!!

Looooved this book. I binge read this in one sitting, literally sat down with a brew & didn’t put this down. This is surprisingly the first book by this author I’ve read but it definitely won’t be the last.

This book is about Natalia & Hunter who meet at each of their bestie’s wedding & the chemistry between them is electric. He wants to explore their spark but having been hurt by her ex she’s sworn off charming/sexy as sin men! However after waking up beside him (not naked...she’d remember it 😏) she leaves Cali & heads back home to NYC leaving him with the wrong number.
A year goes by & they meet again at the birth of their besties baby. Their spark still 💥 but this time he demands her real number. It’s real alright..but it’s also to her mum, thinking/hoping she’d scare him away... but instead he charms her & wins everyone else in her family over.
He’s over in NYC for 8 weeks on a job & wants to spend the time together banging like bunnies, no commitment, no strings!
To begin with, they both don’t want commitment & each have a lot of emotional baggage but things obviously change (for both of them) yet Hunter still doesn’t want to commit. At this point you still don’t know what’s happened in his past to make him this way. You could see how Nat was falling for him without even realising it was happening, she thought she could do the whole friends with benefits thing..until she couldn’t. And when Hunter ultimately hurts her (and himself) my heart hurt for her.
*sigh* there were parts of this that frustrated the hell out of me but only because I’m impatient as shit but it was worth the wait. I loved the characters in this book, the complexity of them, the love & sexy charm.
I loved Hunter, he was cocky, sexy & wildly inappropriate at times but overall he’s a good guy & Nat could see that. Which I think is a huge reason why she didn’t resist him (in the end). And I loved Nat, she was feisty & sassy but kind & empathetic too.

Vi’s latest book of art had all the feels. A sexy AF male lead that was assertive but not over the top in a distasteful way and a strong female character who wasn’t afraid to give as good as she got. The buildup was a bit long but it made the connection they’d built explosive when they finally succumbed to their feelings. I don’t get teary eyed with many books however this book tugged on my heart and thankfully had me crying tears of happiness by the end. Never doubt the lengths ppl will go to to protect those they love. Well done Vi!

I freaking loved this one. Hunter was everything, and I so hadn't been expecting his story. But it was amazing, full of love and funny moments. I love the dynamic between Natalia and Hunter. I loved watching them become a little trio and I loved watching Izzy and Natalia's relationship grow and seeing her open up to Natalia and appreciate everything she did for her.
