MM, Dark, Paranormal Prison, Taboo, Freaky Fairy Tales and Shifters and she is amazing at all of it! Shift of Morals is a fast-paced, age-gap, shifter romance with suspense, steam, and a few surprises! Cyrus is Alpha of his pack and one night on a run he hears crying. What he finds is horrifying, two dead, and a young boy near death. Cyrus takes the boy back to his home, his pack, and takes care of him. Remy’s family was tragically murdered, and he was left for dead. Throat ripped out and alone when Cyrus found him. Years later, he is mute because his vocal cords never healed and now turning 18 is starting to feel smothered by Cyrus’ protectiveness and the pack always in his business. He wants to be around kids his own age, experience life, and get away from the grumpy Cyrus. Everything changes when Cash and his family move into a nearby home. Remy is definitely intrigued by the new boy next door and could use a friend, maybe something more. But when murders that mimic that of his family start happening again, the overprotective alpha goes into lockdown mode with Remy...which of course only makes an 18-year-old rebel. As the pack starts looking for the murderer...Cyrus starts to have inappropriate thoughts about Remy, the boy he raised...and Remy may be having inappropriate thoughts too. Will these two give into to each other and let the angst go or will Remy choose Cash and freedom? No spoilers here! This book was easy to read, engaging, and was definitely a page-turner. I needed to know who the killer was and why and let me tell you, you will never guess why and the twist at the end was just wow! What a twist; talk about a total butterfly effect! As always, I enjoyed this book and I do hope there will be more from the pack in the future! A recommendation from me!

    This story was rough, raw and oh so delicious is all the good ways!!! K. Webster is an absolute Queen when it comes to MM romance throw in that they are shifters and age/gap and that makes for one explosive story!!!

    I loved all of the characters in the story our two main characters Remy and Cyrus I absolutely fell in love with. Watching what Remy had to go through as a child really ripped my heart in two but watching Cyrus and the pack take care of him as one of their own was beautiful. Then there’s that shift in the air when things don’t seem quite as simple anymore and feeling start to evolve and the sexual tension and chemistry between these two are off the charts. The story had me engaged from page one and I could not put it down until I finished and the story went in a direction that I wasn’t really expecting which I loved! The other pack members are great and I’m really hoping we get their stories at some point. Their banter back and forth had my LOL at some points. Overall K. Webster another fantastic read and would highly recommend everyone read it!!!

    I’ve been hunting for good shifter romances with good plot, good writing/editing and good spice. It seems like there are so few that meet all of those criteria. Shift of Morals checked off all those boxes.

    *Trigger Warnings* There is sexual assault and graphic violence in this book.

    I really liked the plot. Reme’s character development was fantastic. Cy was a bit flat for me. I wish that we could have had a few more little flashbacks of Cy’s upbringing instead of just the one big one at the end. His family history was alluded to several times, but it was random and confusing. The pacing was great! I was never bored. It’s a quick read as it is, but I didn’t feel like anything was rushed (except the final fight - see below). The sexual tension and spice was laced nicely throughout the whole book. There are about four or five spicy scenes, and they were pretty good. They didn’t feel super rushed, they are not fade to black, and
    I felt what the characters felt which means they were written pretty well.

    There were really only a few things that irritated me.
    - She repeated the same phrases several times in regards to Cy’s developing feelings toward Reme.

    - If I did the math correctly, Cy is about 18 years old when he first met Reme’s family, but somehow he “forgot” about meeting them??? That was a stretch for me.

    - The number of times Reme got pinned (to the ground, to the dresser, to the wall, to the bed, the bars of the jail cell, etc.) No wonder he felt so trapped all the time. He literally WAS.

    - The final conflict was resolved too quickly. There was so much tension and wonderful development of the plot, but the final confrontation was over in about two pages. It wasn’t even a fight TBH.

    - Lastly, and I know I’m being petty here, but “Shift of Morals” is a terrible title. I get it, it’s a book about shifters and it’s an attempt at a play on words, but I just …. SMH.

    The best bits of the book:
    - Whatever happens to Reme at the dinner scene. I don’t even know what was happening, but you know it was big and important and it was amazing to read.

    - The scenes when Reme and Cy find each other in the darkness, that whole bit was great.

    - The bathroom scene. The tension was just… so good. *kisses fingers*

    - Any of the scenes where the characters where in there own heads for one reason or another. I thought these scenes and their transitions were nicely done.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I’m super happy to have found a solid shifter romance. It made my wolf-loving heart happy!

    The book was just ok for me. In the book you meet Remy who is found in the woods with his sister and mom killed. Then you also meet Cy who’s the alpha of a small pack in the woods. Cy decided to take in remy and raise him along with the pack.
    What I really didn’t understand about Remy is he’s a very annoying character but then again he’s only 18 and never been outside for long. But he must notice all the great things Cy and the pack does for him but he’s very ungrateful. There is the mating bond that Remy says he doesn’t feel till he hit 18 yet he still felt obligated enough to go and make out with someone else so it was really confusing.
    Cy has a protective nature when it comes to Remy and he battles his affections for him because even though they aren’t blood he feels as though he’s raised Remy in a way. Can feel like a form of child grooming. It’s strange cause the first time Cy has laid eyes in Remy he knew Remy was his.
    This book was interesting it was a different take on paranormal as both males were alphas so that was interesting but not in a bad way. I wasn’t a fan of how the ending was rushed and when your half way through the book Remy is still being his obnoxious self righteous person. Just wished the author had given us more moments of Romance between Cy and Remy. The other thing is if you write an intimate scene don’t be afraid or things leading up to it. You can tell the author does not write much M/M books if the whole scene was just one paragraph and not even enough to describe the whole experience the first time with someone your going to share your life with. To of had made the scene better Cy would’ve regretted his choices and not waiting for Remy and just the feel of how perfect he is in his arms. Remy regretting his first kiss but now with Cy everything else makes up for it and feeling his love the first time he laid eyes on him to all those times Cy had been overprotective to now how Remy loses himself every time he stares into those beautiful eyes that have always watched and protected him. Something along those lines.

    In my eyes K Wester can write anything as her attention to detail is phenomenal, and her MM is the best ever, it had it all from age gap, fated mates, plot twists and a MM wolf shifter, what was not to love.

    There was lots of growly protective caring going off from Cyrus the alpha of the wolf pact towards Remy the youngest in there pact. This was full of action steam and it was a dark and gritty story that was nothing like i have read before.
    Another addictive read from this talented author, highly recommended. 4.5 stars.
