    Heaven, the newly crowned Sun Queen, along with Layne, her soulmate and twin flame, are having a hard time reconciling the events that occurred in What the Heart Seeks. As the story progresses an attack is launched, the enemy continues to evade them, and the final battle they face may not be the most difficult for them. Kelli McKracken draws out the feels in What the Heart Keeps. The journey she set out for these characters was more twisted than a winding road, I’m just glad they are able overcome each obstacle.

    I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

    What the Heart Keeps is the final return to the Soulmate series and Heaven and Layne's life. Chaos is erupting as Dylan falls deeper into what he said he would never do - give in to the darkness and Fall. But his resentments toward Heaven are too much for him and all he wants now is to make her hurt. Take their child and disappear. Those who wish to subjugate regular humans are brooding for war and the biggest fight is yet to come.
    I honestly had mixed feelings when it comes to this book. I honestly had thought that things were done with book 5 but apparently, that wasn't the case. We get one more big epic battle between the forces of good and evil. I honestly feel that the series could have been done with book 5. But I get that this book is wrapping up all the loose ends that were left floating around. I struggled a bit with this book due to the characters and the revelations the author puts out there. Some make sense, while others I'm left scratching my head wondering - what was the point?
    The characters have really developed throughout the series, but I'm disappointed with how some things ended up playing out. There is a lot of chaos and drama in this book, but the ending brings some satisfaction, but not as much as I would have hoped. I'm rating this book a soft 4 out of 5 stars.

    I’ve read these books from the first release and anxiously waited for each carefully written book that has evoked so many emotions for me! I felt like I was on the ride with the characters… such vivid imagery and the characters appeared real… well to me anyways! The journey that Heaven, Dylan and Layne have been on was a journey of not only growing up but a journey of growth for every character. Kelli McCracken has written not only an amazingly exciting series but created a world people enjoy reading about! I cannot wait for her next release….💕💕 this book is by far my favorite!

    I can’t believe that we are at the last book in the series. This was a wild ride, and this last one is the wildest. Poor Heaven and Layne are still in hiding, and Dylan is still struggling with the dark side. I feel so much for poor Heaven not only because of what she is facing, but there are more lies/cover-ups she has to face in this one. I wasn’t wild about these revelations because I don’t like when untruths make things so much worse and can’t understand why they were told. However, this was a great conclusion to the series, and the end was satisfying if not how I saw this series going; I can’t say much about that because: spoilers! Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

    This has been such an incredible series that I am sad to see it come to an end! Heaven, Lyne and Dylan are fantastic characters that I have really enjoyed getting to know and the world building is simply incredible. Action packed, this has been one hell of a Journey and as the final battles looms i once again found myself lost in this world and nothing else mattered till the finish!! The author has done an incredible job with the ending and this is definitely a series I would recommend!

    This book is a must read and it needs to be on your list of books TBR. It moves along at a pace which is perfect for the speed of the story. Speeding up and slowing down as necessary. The characters are awesome and you feel as though you know them and you want to see them overcome whatever may be in their way. The story is a must read, once you start you will find yourself hooked and unable to put this book down. This is a must read.

    I have loved this series and this is the long awaited sixth and final book. This is one series that should be read in order and from book one. This book has everything that a reader wants. Dylan, Layne and Heaven are such amazing characters and from word one this book had me sucked in. The action scenes were so amazing and well written. This book may be labeled as a paranormal romance but overall it is about love, hate, jealousy, and family. Through this series you see all the characters grow and change. I loved this story and how it truly was the perfect way to end this journey. Kelli McCracken has done it again and has blown me away with how incredibly talented she is as a storyteller. I wish I could give this story more than five stars but alas I am limited.

    Needless to say but this is book 6 in a series so do start to read in order as it is required with this one. This is the last book in the series and it is pretty awesome. No loose ends and a HEA. I enjoyed the lead caracters Heaven, Layne and Dylan a lot as they are strong and can take on the world. I also loved the way the world is described and the writing sucks you in from the beginning. I both enjoy and hate ending of series though but it is a re-read for sure. Can't wait for more books by this author. Excited to see.
