Hey there! I'm Sarah Gai and I love to write a quick note on each book page about what I was doing around the time of writing this sweet little novella.
As I sat down and penned Sparkles aka Jess, my family and I were in a major transition in our lives. I'm sure you've all been there, where nothing seems to go right, everything breaks, friendships are tested and things are super tight. When I'm in that stressful place, I like to switch it up and find the lightness, the happiness in the world.

And so... Sparkles Book Club series was born! I have to tell you that writing Jess was a balm to my soul. I also got to incorporate a lot of myself into her. I love pink, books, cupcakes, glitter and my personality is quite quirky. Yep, Jess is a rainbow on a grey cloudy day.

I really hope you love her as much as I loved writing her.

    This was a delightful and quick read, I know because I finished it in one setting. It's that good. The story revolves around Jess, a quirky, clumsy lady with pink hair and a matching tutu that works as a party entertainer under her ulterior ego, sparkles the fairy. She lives next door to a sculpted construction worker named Brax who in her eyes is perfect and she loves him but also knows he's a womanizer. She decides to be a matchmaker for her friends May and Haley but things don't pan out. All Jess wants is for friends to have what she wants, their soul mates, all the while believing that will happen for because Brax could never see her like that let alone want her, right? There's plenty of humor and drama that will keep you turning the pages and before you know it, you're finished. A word of caution for other reader out there: be wary when reading this story because a pink haired, tutu wearing fairy may spill coffee on you too....I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next in this funny series!

    The book description billed this book as a romantic comedy but I didn't find this book funny or really romantic. It's more like a Chick Lit type of book.

    It's about Jess & her two best friends May & Haley. They met back in third grade after her family moved to a new town.

    It was just Jess & her Mom then. Jess wore the tutu her Dad had given her to her first day of school & was laughed at. Finally, Haley had taken up for her & invited Jess to sit with her & May. They became best friends ever since.

    As an adult Jess works as "Sparkles" the fairy. Wearing a tutu & a pink wig visiting hospitals, homeless shelters, nursing homes & hosting kids parties.

    She's in love with her next door neighbor Brax but never thinks that he would be interested in her that way.

    I found this book interesting but lacking in the romance department. I wanted more Jess & Brax but it was more about Jess & her best friends overall.

    What’s not to love about a young woman who cares deeply about others? Sparkles the fairy, AKA Jess, loves to make others smile. She started wearing a tutu at a young age after the death of her father. However, her unusual wardrobe brought Jess two best friends, May and Haley, as well as Sparkles career as a party fairy.

    While Jess is quick to recognize her own shortcomings, she’s more than willing to cut everyone else plenty of slack. Her not-so-secret crush on next-door neighbor, Brax, runs throughout the story. The characters in the book are nicely developed—likable and easily relatable.

    This is a very entertaining, feel-good story. Anyone who enjoys chick-lit will definitely want to put author, Sarah Gai, on their reading list.

    Romantic comedy is not usually a genre I dip my toe in often, but this book was really enjoyable. Jess is sweet and spunky and I loved her character. The supporting characters of her friends are all distinct personalities and likable. I wasn't sure about Brax until later in the book, but I understood his motivations later.

    The end of the book sets the scene for future books, but gives a satisfying end to the first book. I'd be curious to see if the rest of the series focuses on Jess and Brax or the other members of the Sparkles Book Club

    Fun short story. Sparkles is a fairy in a pink tutu. She does children's parties and hospitals. She has a neighbor, Brax who she has been in love with for several years. They are very comfortable with one another until Sparkles decides she cannot keep torturing herself and asks him to leave her alone. Needless to say they are both miseries. Her best friends get together and plan action between the two miserable people.
