Shattered With You was a thrilling read! It was intriguing, intense, and sexy. There was a fantastic romantic suspense vibe happening, I loved that element of mystery and drama. It kept things exciting and I was hooked the entire time! Eliza and Quince were such great characters. They had the perfect combination of intensity and vulnerability to them. I loved learning about the battles they were fighting - figuratively and literally - and how it all played out. I really liked getting into both Quince and Eliza’s minds, truly understanding their struggles and what they were going through. The foreshadowing kept me turning the page like a mad woman because I couldn't wait to know what would happen next. There was a killer build as everything was discovered about their past and their complicated relationship together. This couple has an undeniable and complicated chemistry, I loved their push and pull as they fight their feelings. I love the Stark World J. Kenner has created and it was so great seeing characters from previous stories and how they played into this one. I’m really looking forward to Broken With You, book two in this series. After meeting one of the main characters in the story and the storyline that was set up, I’ll be counting down the days to release. This was an excellent series starter. I was filled with so much anticipation as everything developed. I love the timing of how all the secrets were discovered, I was on the edge of my seat. J. Kenner is an exceptional storyteller. The drama, tension, and heat were perfect. I also loved the emotion as these two broken and passionate people navigate their way back together in the midst of turmoil. It was a fantastic read!     Ok, let's get something straight right now. Quincy? He's MINE, so back off ladies (or gents). He's been claimed!!

    Eliza Tucker shouldn't be here. But, she has to pull this off. Her sister is missing and she'll do whatever she has to in order to find her. She planned on putting her acting skills to work - pretending to be someone she's not to get the answers she needs. What she didn't plan on was him. Quincy Radcliffe. He destroyed her once - made her love him and then left without a word. And now he's standing in front of her. She'll soon learn that Quincy is not the man she fell in love with all those years ago. It's like she never really knew him at all. When it becomes clear that his latest mission and her missing sister are somehow connected, can they work together to bring everyone home safely? This may be the toughest thing she's ever done. Not because of the danger of losing her life, but the danger of losing her heart to this man. Again.

    Quincy Radcliffe just saw a ghost. A beautiful spirit from his past, who hates him. She should after what he did to her - how he left her. But, despite this fact, he needs her help and he'll convince her to do it. When it becomes clear that her reasons for showing up there, and his mission, are entangled in the same web of deceit and danger, their past will have to stay on the back burner.     This was an entertaining, if somewhat angsty and over the top, read. Qunicy meets Eliza by chance in London. They hit it off straight away and are inseparable for months until he leaves her without a word. She's broken-hearted but eventually manages to pull off some semblance of a normal life post-Quincy. Fast forward a chunk of time... When Eliza's private investigator sister goes missing, she tries to pick up where her sister's case left off in order to find her. She pretends to be her sister and attends a highly exclusive and underground sex party where she runs into her former flame, Quincy. Unbeknownst to her, he was a former MI6 operative now working for Stark Security and the action flies from there. There's danger rising up all around them, including ghosts from the past.

    I take it that this book is a spin off from another series by the same author. If it is, I haven't read it and was still able to enjoy the story without feeling as though pieces were missing. Both Quincy and Eliza had troubled pasts. I'm still not entirely sure what Eliza's trauma was as this didn't seem to be fully expanded on, just that it was bad, she had trust issues and that her and her sister were inseparable. I won't go into too many details to avoid spoilers, but Quincy experienced abuse after being captured and this was the basis of him going MIA on Eliza. This is explained in the book but I still felt as though he was jerk for leaving her and basically ruining her life without even the courtesy of doing it face to face. Solid reasons were given for why he didn't but it still made me stabby. The old 'I'm leaving her for her own good' rubbish really grinds my gears as it's such a cop out from whatever character dishes out that line.

    The book flits back occasionally to Quincy and Eliza's past - how they met, fell in love, etc. and I really liked this part of the story. There are some steamy scenes in the book with BDSM-type bits thrown in. Nothing overly dark but they were hot nonetheless and I thought they were written tastefully. Speaking of the writing, it was solid throughout the whole book. There were great amounts of action with some well-paced suspense thrown in and while the case of the missing sister and resulting climax of who dunnit wasn't anything groundbreaking or terribly exciting, the author still managed to make it really entertaining even though it was over the top with a bit of a James Bond British agent flair.

    Because Quincy's martyr act made me a bit ragey at times, I found Eliza took him back far too easily and quickly, but that's personal preference as I would have liked a bit more grovelling. That being said, I liked both main characters for the most part. The book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it involves one of the secondary characters and I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that this will be the focus of the next book. I'll probably give the next book a go in the future as I enjoyed this author's style.

    What a great read for an amazing series. Love this storyline with intrigue and action. What a great start to the first book. Love how sassy Eliza has become. Love Quince with all his flaws. Love that they were both able to return to their love and get a second chance. So sad of the cruelty they both have suffered. Can't wait for the next installment of Stark Security.

    Very good plot, and likeable protagonists, but the constant flashbacks to the past, although it was important for the story, interrupted the flow and the suspense for me, so I did not enjoy it as much as I could have.

    From the very beginning it is very easy for the reader to immerse themselves in this very readable novel. This is book one, of at least three. We have possibly met some of the previous characters, but Eliza and Quincy are the main characters of this storyline. However still intriguing to meet, Nikki, Jamie, Ryan and Damien again, plus others that have had lied on the pages. The story begins at a special party, where Eliza is pretending to be her sister Emma, a PI, who is believed to have something that some very undesirable people want. Quincy is also there but not as himself. The story unfolds. We have flash backs to enhance a very explosive story. We have two people Eliza and Quincy, who met many years ago, fell in love and then abandonment, by Quincy leaves Eliza heart broken. Why and how can someone just disappear so heartlessly, without a goodbye and then on a chance meeting pretend it never happened. There are disturbing topics covered sympathetically and emotional in the book, and both parties have some horrible monsters lurking in their tormented minds. Will love eventually be conquered? Can forgiveness only be an empty challenge. This story finishes on the opening of the next in this series. A new character called Denny, who appears funny, intelligent and an important part in this story, has a reason for the series to continue. Suspense throughout is present. It is very difficult to preempt the out come, or even second guess the plot. An excellent storyline and theme, and written by a great author.

    Eliza is an actress and Quince works for a private security firm. Eliza met Quince 5 years ago whilst he was working undercover in London, they had an amazing 3 months together. Then one day he leaves and doesn’t come back.

    Eliza is looking for her missing sister, Emma when she meets Quince again after not having sen him since he left her heart broken 5 years ago. She realises she has to put aside their past as she needs his help to find her sister. He too realised he needs her not only to solve the case but also in a much deeper level.

    I enjoyed reading their stories and getting to know them both.
