Say You Still Love Me: A Novel Paperback – August 6, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
The bestselling author of The Simple Wild and Keep Her Safe and “master of steamy romance” (Kirkus Reviews) delivers a sizzling novel about an ambitious and high-powered executive who reconnects with her first love: the boy who broke her heart.
Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.
On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.
Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group, and coincidentally the first love of her life.
The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.
Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is still alive and strong, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

I absolutely loved this story that centers around Kyle and Piper, who are from completely opposite worlds in so many ways. Say You Still Love Me is told in dual timelines, and the mc's are granted a second chance in the present after their heartbreak in the past.
Sometimes, stories that flip between the past and present can seem drawn out and aren't my favorite, because I feel antsy to just get back to the present storyline. This was absolutely NOT the case at all in this book. I adored Piper and Kyle's journey, both in the past at WAWA, and in the present as their lives intertwined 13 years after their unforgettable summer together.
I was just as invested at seeing them fall for the first time, with youth and naivety and foolishness, as I was in the present after life, with all of its weight and curveballs, had tossed them around with all of its realism and responsibilities and regret, tempting them to feel jaded and cynical.
This story was rich with nostalgia (and I never even went to summer camp! Lol) But the past had me reflecting on my youth, with all those feelings of shooting stars and adrenaline and endless summer days. It had me remembering how the word 'crush' is so representative of feelings as a teenager, because man...when they hit, you really did feel like it took over your life.
It had me hoping and cheering for Piper and Kyle in the present, that on paper have the odds stacked against them. But as Piper found her voice at work in a world of powerful and rich men, Kyle found his courage to face his biggest fear of all...giving their connection another shot, to see if somehow their relationship can truly find its way in the real world.
I cried at the end for them, but also how the story unfolded. I was so satisfied at the end, that I was left with even more appreciation for K.A. Tucker. She's one of my favorites because she always delivers.
But she always delivers, because character, story, and emotions are ever present in her writing, connecting you to the journey as if you're with them every step of the way. I felt that with Kyle and Piper and will ' say I love ', Say You Still Love Me, from the top of the cliff and will happily jump into any lake that K.A. Tucker has waiting for us readers.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024I love a good second chance romance. This one had me in my feelings with a similar relationship with the financial totem pole. Sometimes the heart wants what it wants. There’s a plan even if it’s not the plan we have chosen. This book is written in present and past with Piper from a well off family with her eventually taking over her father’s company. Kyle doesn’t come from a finally well off family. His family has made questionable choices which, in turn, make him question himself about ever being enough. They meet 13 years prior at Camp Wawa. They are both counselors that are well-loved. Like most teenagers, they get into mischief. This book also gave a lesson of being responsible. All choices have a consequence. Current, Piper is working for her father’s company with a new position to show she can take over for him, eventually. He’s a hardcore man that only wants the best for his company and daughter. Kyle isn’t it. Kyle gets a new job which gives piper the shock of the year. It’s been 13 years and things haven’t changed. I love that they earned their HEA, but I wish we got a little more at the end. I feel it was an abrupt ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2019Overall, I loved the concept of this story, and was quite invested in both the past and present storylines... Duel timelines do not always work for me, as they can make a story feel disjointed and sometimes even tedious, but KA Tucker did a wonderful job with this. Her writing was superb, and I really loved these characters.
That said, I just felt like the ending was really abrupt. The characters are still finding out/dealing with MAJOR issues, betrayals, and disagreements in the last 5% of the book, and even though Piper and Kyle ultimately "end up" together (thankfully!), it feels like many of these big issues are still unresolved in the end. Namely, will Piper's Dad ever approve of (or at least not hate) Kyle? Will Piper's demanding job be an issue in their relationship long term, especially when it comes to starting a family? Will Piper's fortune be a problem eventually? Will Piper ever be able to fully forgive her father? All of these questions are left unanswered in the end. Another thing that stood out to me is there was never really a definitive moment where both Piper and Kyle openly declared their love and/or committed to each other in any way. And although there's a short epilogue, it only takes place a few months later, so it doesn't really address or resolve any of these above issues... In my opinion, it would have been much more beneficial to have an epilogue that took place 5 or so years later, so we could see if they had managed to work through these issues.
Anyway, overall I did enjoy this story quite a bit. KA Tucker is a wonderful writer. But the ending just seemed completely unresolved, and left me feeling either sad or unsatisfied for pretty much every character.

3.0 out of 5 stars Did not meet my expectations
2.5 stars
Well, I started reading this book with huge expectations because I really enjoyed Be the Girl by Tucker. Unfortunately, this book just did not click for me.
Piper is about to take over the reins of a multibillion-dollar real estate firm from her father. However, she has to still prove herself in the male-dominated society. Things get all the more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller - the new security guard of her firm. 16-year-old Piper and 17-year-old Kyle had met at a summer camp and they clicked the minute they saw each other. However, the fact that Piper is filthy rich and Kyle comes from a family of convicts always casts a shadow on their relationship. Nevertheless, Piper is confident that things will work out between them. Unfortunately once the summer camp is over Kyle does not contact Piper and it breaks her heart. After being incommunicado for nearly 13 years Piper is confused as to why Kyle has reappeared in this life again. Is it a coincidence or he still has feelings for her?
First of all, I'm not too fond of books with two timelines, while it has worked for some of the books, for this one it was a complete no-no. It simply reinforced the reasons why I hate dual timelines. I felt that so many details on campus life were not required and I got impatient and bored. Further, I never found any inclination from Kyle to give his 100% to the relationship. All I could feel was his skepticism. I doubt how long such a relationship can sustain where one party is willing to work hard for it and the other party is reluctant. I really did love Piper’s parents, especially her father. I loved the way he believed in her and always felt she was more than capable of handling the job. However, the story simply did not speak to me. I just wanted it to get over.
Having read my share of romance books, I thought this book was a huge disappointment. Clubbing it under the “ Ok if you don’t read” kind of book.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 Wawa stars
I love me some K A Tucker and “Say you still love me” is right up there, although can I just say that nothing quite does it for me like “Until it fades” particularly, but also “The simple wild”.
Second chance romance isn’t my favourite trope that’s probably part of the reason I haven’t 5 starred this book, but also I found myself at 80% skimming a little. I want to say that I wanted to get to IT as in the vital bit of info, but truthfully it was a little suspense-y and I don’t do suspense well.
Great story, great characters, great book!
