About the author

Pamela Cowan is a Pacific Northwest author most recognized for her psychological thrillers. Her books are known for their dark and gritty themes, exploring the uglier side of human nature, but often with a twist of humor. Her short stories have been featured in various magazines, and anthologies, and have been broadcast on public radio.
With a background in Communications and Organizational Psychology, Pamela spent her career in social services, honing her understanding of human behavior, which she incorporates into her books.
An army brat, she was born in Germany and moved with her family 17 times before her father retired to Oregon, where she has steadfastly remained. She has two grown children, a remarkably patient and supportive husband, and a dog whose life-long goal is to end the tyranny of UPS, USPS and FedEx drivers.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIf you didn't like Storm's partner, Howard, then you really won't like her new one, Lauren. Being a vigilante is hard work and I was hoping Storm would get a break. Of course, that would mean the end of this gripping thriller. Definitely need to dive into the next book for more killer fun
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2015Format: KindleVerified PurchaseCowan did it again! An excellent, well written nail-biting novel. Her characters are so real, I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown worrying about Storm from the very start. The twists and turns in the plot are not forced and come naturally. Love the tie-ins with Storm Justice. Bravo. Can't wait four book 3.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2015Format: KindleThe second book in the series continues to follow the character Storm as she continues what turns out to be a vigilante life. From the first book you remember she doesn't discard the magical key card and you are left to wonder will she be able to walk away. A big surprise wanders into Storm's life and turns what she thought would be a quiet life away from murder into a roller coaster ride yet again. Who turns up in Storm's life and how does she respond to this change. What in her life seems normal and what really isn't. This book continues down the path of thrills and chills and follows the first book Storm Justice very well as Storms life continues to spiral to places unknown. Does she do everything right and follow the rules or does she break the rules and go out on her own. Pick up Storm Vengeance to find out and try just try to put it down before you are done.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2018Format: PaperbackI'm so hooked on this series. The author has created a town so real I feel like I've driven through it and stopped for lunch with the characters. My only drawback is personal preference, I guess, because I typically read cozy mysteries these days. This is the only series I follow that's this intense and suspensful.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2015Format: PaperbackStorm has met her match in the neurotic character of Lauren, a victim of Storm’s own abusive father. Balancing two unbalanced women through a complex plot of lies, betrayal, and self-deceit, Cowan shows an amazing mastery of her art form. Has Storm slipped beyond sanity? Has she gone too far to ever really claim the humanity she dreams of through the construct of her perfect family? I wanted to reach through the pages and shake the woman!
But then I was worried that I, too, might end up dead.
Afterall, Storm’s new best friend is just a little too over protective!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2015Format: KindleIn this sequel, Storm McKenzie continues her doling out of vigilante justice, but her new partner-in-crime lacks the discipline and focus Storm always brings to the scene when dispatching her victims. As she falls into a violent vortex of her own making, Storm questions her dedication to her husband and family. This is a wild, dark and delirious ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through to the final twist that leaves Storm facing her darkest childhood fear.
