Publisher Description
USA Today bestselling author Caitlin Crews returns with Summer Nights with a Cowboy, another emotional romance in her stunning cowboy series Kittredge Ranch….
He doesn’t believe in love…
Traveling nurse Janie Atwood has come to Cold River to uncover old family secrets and maybe, if she’s lucky, find a new home. That the gorgeous, glowering sheriff next door thinks her caring for his elderly neighbor is a nefarious scheme is a bonus. Having never been anything but a good girl, Janie finds Zack Kittredge’s simmering suspicion an excellent reason to try being a little dangerous instead…
She doesn’t believe in squandering it…
Sheriff Zack Kittredge is okay with being… intense. He takes his loner status as seriously as he takes his responsibilities to protect Cold River. And he thinks cheerful Janie might be a threat to the town. But the more he gets to know her, the more he faces the truth—she’s brighter than sunshine and he’s like a moth to her flame. When Janie suggests he could use a few charm school lessons, he surprises them both by accepting. He doesn’t need help. But it’s clear he might need her…
Because the only thing hotter than the summer sun in the Rockies is the forbidden passion that burns between them…
“This steamy tale proves opposites attract.” —Publishers Weekly (starred review) on All Night Long with a Cowboy
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Crews polishes off her steamy Kittridge Ranch trilogy with this breathless and arousing tale of old secrets and new beginnings (after All Night Long with a Cowboy). Traveling nurse Janie Atwood ostensibly arrives in Cold River, Colo., to care for octogenarian Damaris Gardner, but she has an ulterior motive: investigating her possible connection to one of the town's founding families. Drop-dead gorgeous Sheriff Zack Kittridge, who lives like a monk in Cold River while taking his (admittedly "a little bit dirty") pleasures outside the county to avoid gossip, is distrustful of her from the start. Gradually, however, his suspicions that Janie's taking advantage of Damaris dissipate and the less experienced Janie's fear that all men will forever see her as a kid sister dissolves in the face of his interest in her. Their mutual desire swells until Zack wants to "bathe" in her and Janie feels "plugged into an electric outlet." In Zack, Crews handily delivers Damaris's definition of a perfect man: "a gentleman on the street but a cowboy in the sheets." It's not all blistering heat, however; subplots about Damaris's feelings on aging, Zack's adulterous father, and Zack's brothers and friends helping him to reestablish his family ranching ties add depth. This lusty romance is sure to fulfill some fantasies.

Summer Nights with a Cowboy
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I am so torn on how to rate this book. There were some places that just dragged for me. Also I would have to re-read some sections as I felt like I was missing the point in the scene. Then there were other scenes that were just so deep and filled with angst and not just between the two main characters. Zack had some serious issues with his father. These issues where what led Zack to become the man that he is. They shaped how he lived his life and interacted with others. To him things were black and white with no grey areas. The author really built a solid foundation for Zack that she had to break down the walls that were built around him.
Then you have Janie the traveling nurse/caretaker. She comes to town to care for elderly Damaris. She also has an ulterior motive for coming to Cold River. The secret that she carries is one that will shape her interaction with Zack.
I loved so many things about this book. How people interact with each other. How something can shape and mold a person. How relationships can be so complex and yet so simple at the same time. Yes, this book is one that can take some getting though but it is one that shouldn't be missed. There are so many lessons here.
This is a sexy book so just a word of caution if you don't like reading that. The way the end was written and how the author wrapped up the characters almost brought a tear to my eye. I did get a little depressed as it almost felt like I was saying good-bye to some really good friends. I hope there are more book set in Cold River (HINT, HINT!!!!)
Pulling at the heartstrings
Caitlin Crews latest Kittredge Ranch book, Summer Nights with a Cowboy, is a journey of self discovery and hard fought change. With dynamic characters, who are easily relatable to, and a multi-layered plot that connects the past with the present and laying to rest old misunderstandings…resulting in paving the way for a future free of constant strife. Truly a story that will pull at the heart strings in many different ways, and just may leave you with a smile, as it did me.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

GREAT BOOK. Zack is scared from what he saw growing up. Janie is a nurse that has moved to town to help Zack’s neighbor. Jane helps Zack see what he was missing. She helps him break down all his walls. And she finds the family and love she has always wanted.
