The Man in the Black Suit Kindle Edition
Nicholas Cassirer checks into the hotel under an assumed name every three months. Usually, he stays in the penthouse suite with a beautiful female companion but on this occasion, he arrives alone and is displeased in having to deal with someone new. A match of wits ensues as he tests Acacia’s expertise with a series of almost impossible demands. Her intelligence and creativity rise to the challenge, earning his respect.
They strike a tenuous accord until Acacia discovers a famous stolen painting in his suite. Compelled to report her discovery, she contacts a former boyfriend who works for the elite BRB, a unit of French law enforcement that deals with stolen art.
Nicholas is questioned by police and released when it is revealed the painting is a reproduction. Irked with her behavior, Acacia’s supervisor demotes her, threatening dismissal and the cancellation of her work permit.
But Acacia has already attracted Nicholas’s attention. Remorseful that she may lose her job on his account, he offers her a choice—she can wait until her supervisor dismisses her, or she can leave the city of lights behind and become his personal assistant.
Acacia initially refuses his offer, but Nicholas is persistent. He reveals himself as a man who quietly acquires stolen art in order to restore it to its rightful owners. Faced with mounting familial debts and the possibility of dismissal and deportation, she agrees to work for him.
Nicholas opens up a whole new world of beauty and intrigue to Acacia as they travel the globe. Soon the line between employer and assistant is blurred, and the two lonely people embark on a passionate relationship.
Secrets and danger abound as Nicholas and Acacia try to solve the mystery of a piece of stolen art. But Acacia may prove to be the most dangerous mystery of all.

About the author

NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY AND #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR
I'm interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition - particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.
I'm also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.
I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex's Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House. For more information, see my Twitter account.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2018The Man in the Black Suit is a book I have been waiting to read for a year now, and I have to say it far surpassed my expectations! As with all of this author's books, it captures your interest from the first page, and long after I finished this book I could not stop thinking about it.
This book tells the story of Nicholas and Acacia, who through a series of events, come in contact with each other and then their lives are changed in the blink of an eye. After reporting Nicholas when she sees what appears to be a stolen painting he is trying to hide from her she contacts a former boyfriend in the BRB, a branch of French police that work on stolen art and other valuables. After the hotel is searched and Nicholas is released after brief questioning, Acacia's supervisor lets her know they are no longer happy with her work.
On the other hand Nicholas is impressed by Acacia's honesty and her attitude to do what is right. Nicholas knows that she is probably going to get fired, so he offers her a job as his personal assistant. Acacia reluctantly agrees as she knows she will have her work visa revoked, a real problem that Nicholas stated he will take care of. So Acacia starts travelling the world with Nicholas looking for answers to what Nicholas is looking for. The most important thing to Nicholas is finding a painting that his sister's life was taken when their gallery was robbed.
Although they are attracted to each other and falling in love they both are hiding very important secrets that can get them killed. There is a lot of suspense and angst in this book and a plot that does not quit. Finally all cards are revealed and the suspense almost made me crazy along with a few other things that happen. What a Great read.
The best part of reading this book is that if you have read all of his other books you will find things mentioned that took place and are mentioned! Also the way the author writes is so special, and the books are well turned out.
The most important message in this book is the necessity to obtain redemption, suffering, the human spirit and the need for love and kindness and this thought has been in every novel. We also learn a lot even though this is fiction, we learn about art and places all over the world.
I gave this book 5*****stars but it is so good there should be no limit of the rating on this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2017The time waiting for this new book from Sylvain Reynard was worth every day!
Love and appreciate how brilliantly Sylvain Reynard entwine religions and cultures. How in a once again amazing writing teaches the readers in so many ways. And mostly for cheering and emphasizing for kindness, love, hope, charity and peace.
Every word, every place every gesture has more than one meaning. Everything is so deep. For me this novel is a special surprise on many levels.
I visited Paris in October and unknowingly I went around the places mentioned in the novel several times. I also visited all the other places mentioned in the novel.
While reading it I felt being there once again, the descriptions are amazingly vivid.
Sylvain Reynard has done it again. Yes he makes us readers feel special.
What do I mean by that? Well reading The Man in the Black Suit you are experiencing places, artwork, relationships as if you are there in the middle of everything, as if you are the protagonist yourself. It is a wonderful captivating story that takes us readers traveling enjoying settings created with so much realistic and amazing detailed writing.
This is another book by Sylvain Reynard that captivated me from start to finish. The alternating chapters from Nicholas and Acacia’s POW is a new style for SR, but once you start reading you can’t stop. The mystery, the intrigue, the suspense, the secrets both characters are hiding makes this novel a “one sitting read”. You can’t get enough, it is impossible to put it down.
I enjoyed immensely to learn about the real man behind the Black Suit, but also who Acacia really is. These two new characters created by Sylvain Reynard are both facing a personal development, but they are actually survivors. Acacia is a strong compassionate heroine filled with so much understanding and love. Nicholas is also a strong and noble character. He does everything in his power to protect his loved ones.
Having three religions in my family, and being an immigrant gives me the extra experience to understand culture /religion fusions. Loved every minute of this epic writing. This is once again brilliant novel from SR penmanship.
Thank you Sylvain Reynard for your research, knowledge, love of art, beautiful places, your determination to want to lift your charachters to better insight, for wanting them to be better persons and for believing in unconditional love and kindness. Also for lifting so important issues as terrorism and weapon trafficking.
Lastly for believing in inclusion, diversity of traditions, of religions, of cultures, of language, of nations.
Thank you for writing!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2018The book was good. Better than most on the market. But for me the golden standard is Gabriel's Inferno. What disappointed me this time were the explicit love scenes. I get that they are ovet thirty and mature, but I love it when there are left out some things from describing sex.
As plot and theme, the book deserves 5 stars without question.
And no one can write the development of a relationship as SR does. He is the master at building strong and realistic couples. The way he makes character handle each other is an ideal for me. I learned a lot about navigating the troubled waters of a relationship from his novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Incredible Stars!
What a wonderful, emotional and geographical journey Sylvain Reynard took me on with this incredible, well written story. From Paris to Geneva, Santorini and the Middle East, the Man in the Black Suit is full of mystery, suspense, intrigue, romance, beauty, art and love. I was totally captivated by this story, from the beginning to the end.
You will fall in love with the two main characters. Acacia Santos is a strong, independent, courageous and beautiful young woman who endured pain and trauma in her past and is now trying to build a new life for herself in the beautiful city of Paris.
Nicholas Cassirer is a man of mystery whom Acacia meets whilst she is working as a concierge at a Paris hotel. Nicholas is tall and dark, with a lean, athletic form. He is nearly always seen dressed in one of his “ubiquitous” black suits. He too knows about pain and loss. He has flaws, but he has a beautiful soul. He has had something stolen from him and he wants justice. Nicholas, in my view, is a genuine hero.
This book is outstanding to say the least. There are numerous messages SR delivers to his readers in this book; about the importance of being charitable, showing kindness and not hatred, and that imperfections can be invisible when you take the time to look inside and see a person’s inner beauty.
I enjoyed this story immensely. I loved the dialogue between Acacia and Nicholas and the love scenes are exquisite!
Another character I grew a fondness for by the end of the book was Rick. A loyal employee and good friend.
What more can I say. Sylvain Reynard has done it again. I have always found his writing to be lyrical and flawless. The Man in the Black Suit is no exception. Sylvain Reynard delivered with this incredible story, as expected, because this book is everything I was hoping for, and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars is one delight of a story
The man in a black suit, is one delight of a story. Full of history, culture, religious behaviours, mystery, violence, romance and much, much more. All is essential to make this a great novel. Yes there are dark moments, yes there is relationship distrust, but all is necessary to indulge the reader in such vivid suspense. The all Alpha male is one complex character, that wants revenge for his family’s thieft of treasured beings and material things. The heroine is an intelligent, lady who is constantly trying to hide her past and faith. When the two characters become involved the chemistry is explosive and dynamic. Previous characters are mentioned in a way that leaves the reader feeling almost updated on their progress. The plot is fantastic and there is no way that you can second guess any outcome, even the ending, although complete, leaves you wanting more knowledge of Nicholas and Acacia. All of this author’s books are a treat to read and this is no exception.

5.0 out of 5 stars Livro surpreendente! Sylvain nunca decepciona
Esse livro me deixou extasiada!
