The Wicked Prince: A Fake Relationship Romance (Sexy Royals Book 3) Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 746 ratings

“Wicked Prince takes the crown for sweet, sexy royal romance. I was entranced with this much-needed escape, and am now looking for a wicked prince of my own.” - Laurelin Paige, NYT bestselling author

100% Standalone

My job was to clean up his reputation and find him a wife.

It was supposed to be easy, but nothing about Prince Aramis was ever easy.

I was about to throw in the towel when he came up with a solution: I'd be his pretend girlfriend. Forget the fact that I was sort of seeing someone, or that I had no interest in joining the royal family. Once Aramis sets his eyes on something, there's no use in fighting him on it, besides, in a way it would make my job a little easier.

I accept the offer but set boundaries. Boundaries that Aramis is intent on testing. Before either of us know what's happening, the lines start to blur and I can no longer tell the difference between pretend and reality.

My job on the line is one thing, but losing my heart to Aramis was never in the cards.

About the Author

Claire doesn’t like to talk about herself. Because of this, she asked a friend of hers to write her bio. This is what she got:

Claire is caring, smart, witty, and funny as heck. Despite being a New York Times Best Selling Author of a popular contemporary romance series, Claire doesn’t read many romance novels. However, when she sits down to write, those are the ones that pour from her fingers. Much to her displeasure, we like to say she’s a romantic at heart.

She is a breast cancer survivor who lives in Miami with her good looking husband, two adorable boys, three bulldogs, and two stray cats that she refuses to admit are hers (even though they live on her porch and she continues to feed them). When she’s not writing, she’s always lost in a book (the more suspenseful, the better).

“I couldn’t remember the last time I was this consumed by a woman.”
Aramis was a party boy, he was a play boy, he would sleep with any woman. But after an car accident, his sisters secretary; Joslyn, was now helping him out. He just wanted to feel how he felt before but with his new reality it wasn’t going to happen. With his younger sister about to get married and his older brother about to have a kid, all spotlight is going to be on him, wondering why the middle child is still single and partying. So his mother, set Joslyn on a mission to find him a suitor. But he doesn’t want just anyone he want his secretary.
Joslyn added a new twist to the best friends brother trope, because her best friend isn’t any ordinary person her best friend is the princess of France. From the moment she went on her first vacation with them and met her brother. But getting involved with the Royal family was crazy, especially when he’s her boss. She worked as a his secretary making sure he makes it to all the events he needed to be at and tries to keep him out of trouble. But she wasn’t expecting what was to come during this holiday vacation. Especially with Aramis’ crazy idea for them to fake date so he wouldn’t have to look for a suitor.
Between a surprise of a lifetime that the queen mother has been hiding from them and all the feelings both have been bottling up all this time, will they make it through this fake dating adventure?

I loved this story so much, and how it continued the other characters story from the first book. Joslyn is such an amazing character, I loved her in the first book and loved being able to read her story. Same with Aramis, I definitely knew it was going to be good after learning a little bit about him before in his brothers story. I loved the ‘slow burn’ leading to them admitting their feelings for each other. It was a beautiful written story, that I flew through.

Claire Contreras has brought the Naughty Royals Series to a beautiful conclusion. Of the three royal sibling, I anticipated Prince Aramis' story most. He is such a loveable bad boy. I just knew his story would be not only fun, but filled with laughter and mischief. I was not disappointed.

I have always admired Joss' frank manner. She has been such a strong presence as a supporting character in this Naughty Royals world. Her dry sense of humor, strong sense of self, and loyalty to those she loves is incomparable. These qualities have endeared her to me and earned her a place on my list of favorites.

Watching the interplay between Prince Aramis and Joss was one of the highlights of 2021 for me. I love how they challenged each other and how their personalities were complementary. Their story held true surprises and and true love.

It has been a while since I have been lost in such a fun and fancy series. I loved the Royal world with a very contemporary flair that Claire Contreras has gifted us. I know that I will return to this series for a reread. It is a wonderful place to escape to.

This may be the first book that I didn’t like as much by Claire Contreras. I felt like Jos could have been honest with Aramis on how she felt. It seems like her best friend knew, but she still maintained “a fake” relationship facade. It’s like she kept getting in her mind and then she just kept assuming things without even asking Aramis. They both failed to communicate to each other on how they felt. It just kept going in a circle of that same almost until the second to last chapter….finally Aramis took charge of the situation. He wasn’t any better on communicating to Jos how he felt about her until the very end. Blaah

All the brightest stars ✨✨✨✨✨twinkling up above and even far beyond solely for this aaamazzzing book 🎊
Claire, you must be having a super-super wonderful settling back “home” from a yearlong of lockdown and social distancing, and as such, was able to create this fantastic realistic fairytale romance from a kingdom somewhere in the southern part of France? That might be a close neighbor kingdom of nearby Monaco, right? Ohhh welll, that being said, let me be honest that from the moment I opened up the summary of this book, I knew that it’s one of those Claire-based storylines where you kept enthralled by the royal antics of the privileged! It’s one of those stuff we all fantasize about in our youth or even in middle-aged we still find ourselves clinging to that fantasy where we rub elbows with their Majesties, right?
Seriously, how captivating it was to read about a playboy prince such as Prince Aramis, who could openly accept the fact that he fathered a son, a huge surprise, naturally but who could blame him, or his brother The King, or his baby sister Princess Pilar? It’s all about secrets that had to be kept for seven years for the sake of the Crown👑The Queen mother did everything to save them from embarrassment. Aristocracy as we all know is synonymous with Royalty !!!
But, sad to admit, her eldest son, the present King Elias 🤴 ascended the throne after her husband’s death, who bravely married for love, a beautiful commoner, now known as Queen Adeline, and whose best friend is also Princess Pilar’s secretary... this special person we would come to know as the super heroine in this magical story!
Of French and English heritage, Joslyn or Joss as Aramis fondly call her, has been close friends with Pilar since they were teenagers. Smart and dedicated in her job as Pilar’s secretary, sometimes she handles Aramis extra curricular activities too, especially after the prince had a car accident.
Inevitably mutual attractions developed between Joss and Aramis. Warding off his mother’s wish for him to marry someone within their level of aristocracy, he proposed a deal with Joss into becoming his pretend girlfriend. She accepted.
Amidst twists and turns most especially about the coming out into the open regarding Oscar, the seven year old son and his mother, it was inevitable that insecurity developed on the part of Joss who believed theres no future for her and Aramis 🥲Her love was doomed and she wanted a way out. She could not compete with Oscar’s mother who looked as if she wanted Aramis for herself too.
After Queen Addi convinced her about Aramis’ real feelings for her, Joss’ heart ❤️ softened a bit, determined to fight for her love, vowing to tell Aramis, but as this heartwrenching love story comes to its near end, Aramis have seen how badly and hurt Joss looked after the tv interview. Finding no other recourse, he revealed himself, declaring her love for Joss eversince they met as teenagers♥️ The Queen mother has already accepted Joss as his son’s truest love, his ever true destiny! They have seen how capable and smart Joss in everything she did and still does for the Crown 👑
The huge diamond ring handed down from generations to generations was the greatest proof of her motherly blessing for the engagement of her favorite son Prince Aramis and Joss who both believe in fate and destiny, that their youthful attraction blossomed into a magical and heartwarming HEA filled with dreams that life in a kingdom is a once in a lifetime real tests about how a so called Wicked Prince, can change through his own volition! He solemnly promised to change his old ways and to become a perfect husband and super hero to her beloved true Princess 👸 “in real life” forever after ✨🎊

I have forever waited for Aramis and Jose's book when I read about them in Sinful king. Their love and chemistry atre off the charts. A bad boy prince is in love with his sister's best friend like forever and finally got together and I am so happy for their HEA. Aramis though isnparty playboy, his feelings has more depth and he respects his brother and loves his family. And his son Oscar is so cute and their relationship is endearing. Joss is such a pragmatic and strong woman..she is hard worker and Aramis has lucked out..Its good to read about Elias and Addie and pilar and Ben..loved the whole royal family and gonna miss them. Got an ARC of this and thank you Claire for that opportunity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aramis is The Prince Charming!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 30, 2021
Now when I think about Prince Charming ... I think about Aramis!
I have really enjoyed this series and was soooo looking forward to read Aramis’s story!

Aramis is a Prince but not a conventional one- he makes the headlines of the news, enjoys one night stands and live his life to the full until things had to change!

Joslyn is the secretary of Pilar and Aramis but was friends with the royal children before working for the crown. She has history with Aramis... but now they love to hate each other and their relationship is explosive.

Aramis needs to settle and find a girlfriend as per the Queen Mother’s request - who I really dislike for so many reasons -

Joslyn decides to help the Prince but things get complicated when feelings get in the way... and secrets and wounds from the past.

Can Joslyn get the fairy tale? Can Aramis be tamed?

I enjoyed reading their passionate story and it was so much fun to read about the other characters.

The Wicked Prince is a romantic read that will make you dream you were in Versailles living the fairy tale.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Really Fun Read ;-)
Reviewed in India on March 20, 2021
From the last two books in the series, we get to know that Joselyn is Adeline's best friend and she works as a secretary for Adeline's sister in law Princess Pilar and her brother Prine Aramis.
Aramis and Sofia had such a good love hate chemistry since book one and I was really excited to read their story.
“I think this is the first civil conversation we’ve ever had.” “We have civil conversations all the time.” “Do we? I feel like we’re always arguing.” “You call that arguing? I call it foreplay.” “I prefer my foreplay to be a little more physical.” “I can arrange that.”
Their chemistry was sorching hot and the romance was really cute. Also, I loved seeing the side characters and how far they have come in their lives.
“Are you going to keep reminding me of the mistake I made when I was a teenager?” “Mistake? Once is a mistake. Three times . . . well, I think most would consider that a habit.”
Since Joselyn was well acquainted with the Royal Family, she knew Aramis pretty well and she always thought that he was a spoiled playboy who enjoyed his wealth. But then something happens and Aramis get's into a car accident that pretty much changes his carefree ways. He stops being the party person he previously was and becomes pretty insecure.
“I wish I’d been a different man then. I wish I’d paid more attention to what was in front of me.” “You had years to remedy that and didn’t.”
Now that Aramis got out of his party lifestyle, he started to realize his feelings for Joss and was determined to show her that they work well together. I loved the way he not so subtly came up with the idea of fake dating to keep Joss close to him!
“I’ve wanted you for as long as I can remember.” “Liar.”
I loved their bickerings because they were simply entertaining.
“Packing for me again?” “If I don’t, who will?” “I used to pack my clothes.” “When?” I blinked over at him. “Was this around the same time when you used to do your own laundry?” “Funny.” He chuckled. “You know I’ve never done my own laundry.” “So spoiled.”
Overall, the book was good but I felt like it was short and I just expected something more from the epilogue, but I definitely recommend reading this.
