Tell Me Our Story Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 284 ratings

Icy, standoffish Jonathan Hart always turned towards that laugh. Full-throated, uninhibited, addictive.

Soft smiles encouraging him over swing bridges. Hearty chuckles dancing around a ballroom. Wobbly grins. Double-glances. Eyes that brightened the world.
His world.
From the moment he met David O’Hara, Jonathan started forming a smile of his own.

And then O’Hara left.
One lingering look.
No last goodbye.

Seven years later, that laugh again.

Full-throated, uninhibited.

Addictive.

O’Hara. Still all fire and flame, still drawing Jonathan in.

And now he wants Jonathan paired with him in a seven-week social influencing challenge.

Now, he wants to finish melting his heart…

A bit about me:

I'm a big, BIG fan of slow-burn romances. I love to read and write stories with characters who slowly fall in love.

Some of my favorite tropes to read and write are: Enemies to Lovers, Friends to Lovers, Clueless Guys, Bisexual, Pansexual, Demisexual, Oblivious MCs, Everyone (Else) Can See It, Slow Burn, Love Has No Boundaries.

I write a variety of stories, Contemporary MM Romances with a good dollop of angst, Contemporary lighthearted MM Romances, and even a splash of fantasy.

My books have been translated into German, Italian, French, Spanish, and Thai.

Tell Us Our Story is a poetic and delightful story of a second chance romance between two former friends. I very strongly recommend it.
Brought together after 7 years apart at a social media influencers convention, Jonathan and David explore the many facets of love as they work together to win a major cash prize. Along the way, they’ll find out what happened during that 7-year gap, break down each other’s barriers, and eventually decide whether or not they have a future together.
There is a great set of side characters, one cat, plenty of dancing, and lots of lovely references to love in mythology and philosophy.

This is a low 4-star rating, in that I enjoyed the book but it really took until the 50% mark for me to be caught up in the story.

I was charmed by the conceit - two former friends who are now stars on an Instagram/TikTok- like platform teaming up in a challenge that leads to a second-chance romance, so each chapter is one of the weekly challenges.

The prologue was good, but I would have liked a little more detail in the first chapter. For example, I was initially confused about whether Jonathan worked in a library or a bookstore, until another character named it. I don't think it would have taken many words, or detracted from the conceit, to explain a bit more about what ICon was and the platform. I think it works that most of the backstory unfolds through the challenges, but I just didn't want to work so hard to understand in the first few chapters.

This follows the typical slow burn style and certainly has you wondering for quite a long time as to what the relationship is and how it is going to work out, but it always does.

Jonathan and David's story is a slow burn like no other I have read, it has no heat at all. Jonathan and David have known each since they were young and secretly been in love with each other yet too chicken scared to tell one another. They meet back up older yet still hiding from their feelings for each. Thus you experience this really long excruciatingly slow burn that ends with a fizzle. Jonathan was annoying and closed off the majority of the time while David spent the majority of the time hiding behind a frat boy persona. All in all a so-so read, not one I will ever read again and probably forget. Recommend reading if you like slow burn, no heat, and your romance with plenty angst on the side. As always Happy Reading!!!

Another beautiful story from Anyta Sunday. 🤍 I’m not sure why I waited so long to begin reading Sunday’s works, but I started with the 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 series and then became addicted with the 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦, 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯 series.

𝘛𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘔𝘦 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 is a gorgeous, almost abstract, second chance, former-friends to lovers epic tale {because 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 doesn’t quite fit}.

Great characters and a beautiful, poetic slow burn romance where a lit happens between the lines. The style works really well to create the physical and emotional journey.

This book just drew me in from the beginning. Jonathan, although quiet and studious had a pain inside him which made me feel for him. When David (O’Hara) came into the story and as I got to know him too, I truly needed these two to find a happy ending.
The surrounding characters were great, and just so realistic, I could imagine myself with them at each step.
I truly didn’t want this story to end, I loved being within their world.

This is a tremendous read it's real in every way, from recognising love so early in there lives and afraid to follow it. Then years later David and Jonathan become one with lots of ups and downs along the way.
