That Is That: Essays About True Nature Kindle Edition
From That Is That: "The real treasure in this moment is always to be found in the awareness of this moment, not in the content of our experience. So it’s not that important if something you like is happening or not. Discovering this simple perspective is like discovering you live in a candy store: Everywhere you turn is another goodie! Beyond that, is the recognition that this endless supply of goodies is what you really are. You are not the content of your experience; you are the awareness that brings life and joy to every experience. Talk about not having to worry about what happens! Nothing that happens can change what you are, and what you are is the biggest treasure. It is hidden in plain sight, right in front of you, always in the experience you are having right now."
After experiencing a profound spiritual awakening in India in 1998, Nirmala began teaching throughout the Unites States and elsewhere. Nirmala is also the author of Nothing Personal, Living from the Heart, and Gifts with No Giver. Many other writings of his as well as videos are available on his website.

"The beauty of this collection of Nirmala's talks and dialogues is that it covers much of the spectrum of spiritual awakening, from the initial experience of one's true nature to the practical challenges, which always call for a deeper seeing and deeper understanding of how spirit manifests as all of life and beyond. Within these talks and dialogues you, the reader, will find Nirmala to be a living invitation to look within. Nirmala welcomes whatever arises within the field of experience. In the midst of this welcoming is always an invitation to inquire deeply within, to the core of who and what you are. Again and again, Nirmala points the questions back to the questioner and beyond to the very source of existence itself--to the faceless awareness that holds both the question and the questioner in a timeless embrace." -from the Foreword by Adyashanti to Nirmala's book, Nothing Personal.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2013These essays were brilliant in their path, leading from the smaller truths to the largest ones, opening the heart all along and playing with different ideas and thoughts. Beautifully written, I was delighted in reading all the way up to my current progress and then beyond that, into the larger and larger truths. The book was like a web connecting everything visibly and brilliantly.
Sometimes I struggled to understand what they meant by some term, or key phrase, exercise, or thought, however within a few moments they'd cover it in the book.
Before I wasn't nearly as aware of my own heart's expansion and contraction. After they covered it and explained it very well for me to understand, I instantly noticed it and it's response to the book as I progressed through it, along with any thoughts I was having during then, and even now, where my heart has remained open as I've written this.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2014This book is full of wise pearls. Every page has an 'aha' moment. If you are on the path of finding spiritual Truths, this book will affirm what you have already come to know within. It will also point to truths waiting to be discovered by you. No matter where you are on the Inner Journey, this book gently and firmly gives you support. I loved reading it and would recommend it to anyone seeking a spiritual communion with the Divine.
This book met my expectations in a way that many other books on my spiritual journey have not. The author is firmly rooted in what he writes about.....experiences gleaned from his own investigation into Stillness.
Easy to read. Lots of things to mull over. One of the best books I've encountered in a long time. Namaste.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2012For a radically different way of viewing your life's experience this will definitely give you food for thought. Not light reading but will resonate with your inner knowing.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2013I approached this book with an open mind and an open heart and I was blown away.
It is amazing to me that such power can be conveyed by ink on paper.
Imagine that you have spent your whole life looking for "truth" or "the answer" and you somehow run into someone who just asks you to try to give up looking, so you do, and then, wham, you find yourself standing in front of the fountain of all truth, and it is beautiful, and calming, though maybe not particularly what you expected.
This book helps me get in touch with the truth that lies at the core of my being.
I can't read more than one or two pages before I have to put the book down and reflect and marvel on what I have just read!
Nirmala is a great teacher.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2017There are many books like this, all full of wisdom and sometimes practical guidance. It all depends on the reader to find the right sentence, word or little story that triggers his own insights.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2014I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a slow process and nice to savor that way. The perspective offered has begun to interweave with my own life perspective and allow me to soften and expand a bit. It is comforting, feels very honest, and helpful toward being more loving and aware of the loving intentions of others. I highly recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2014This book is a excellent guide into spaciousness. The "exercises" - or suggestions are great. I found that his way of "looking" at things opened my heart and helped close the useless thoughts that interfere. A book to be read slowly, with no expectations but to look into yourself. I found it very helpful for my own inner journey. I enjoy Nirmala's way of describing this inner space whether through written words, or through his audio recordings. A real master.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2019I had never heard of Nirmala and did not know what to expect when I downloaded this book for free. I'm so glad I did. It's a book for everyone, I suppose, but especially for those who are ready to surrender and be at peace with this mysterious existence and all the many different expressions of unlimited awareness.

Nirmala convey such sensuality and sensations that it is felt and received as a telemphatic commune-ication.

Beautiful book. It transforms you if you can remember what it says and carry it with you each moment of your life. I was myself motivated to write this review so that whosoever shall come across should not give a second thought to buy it ;it is offered for free ,it is really commendable that such priceless teachings should be dispensed freely to help masses. Lots of love to author and team who took upon themselves to present its kindle edition.
