The Boyfriend Cruise (Pride of the Caribbean Book 1) Kindle Edition
And this is a shipboard romance unlike any other.
Josh Gilbert’s well-meaning family booked a gay-friendly cruise for Christmas in order to find Josh a boyfriend. Hoping to escape the constant parade of bachelors—and the collapsible fishing rod dangling mistletoe his mom keeps in her purse—Josh takes solace in a growing friendship with the ship’s photographer, Nathan. Though Josh is falling for Nathan, he worries it will never be more than a shipboard fling.
Nathan recently became aware of his incubus heritage and has finally learned how to control his demon side. But Josh has awakened more than just the demon’s need for orgasms—Josh has awakened Nathan’s heart. What’s developing between them is the real thing, but can Josh ever accept Nathan’s promiscuous past… and love a sex demon?
Amid lush tropical settings, family hilarity, holiday costume parties, sexy snorkeling adventures, gingerbread martinis, and mythical creatures, will Josh get his Christmas wish and finally find the true love he’s wanted for so long?

About the author

Deanna Wadsworth might be a bestselling erotica author, but she leads a pretty vanilla life in Ohio with her wonderful husband and a couple adorable cocker spaniels. She has been spinning tales and penning stories since childhood, and her first erotic novella was published in 2010. When she isn’t writing books or brainstorming with friends, you can find her making people gorgeous in a beauty salon. She loves music and dancing, and can often be seen hanging out on the sandbar in the muddy Maumee River or chilling with her hubby and a cocktail in their basement bar. In between all that fun, Deanna cherishes the quiet times when she can let her wildly active imagination have the full run of her mind. Her fascination with people and the interworkings of their relationships have always inspired her to write romance with spice and love without boundaries.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2024Josh goes on a family vacation and it’s a surprise gay friendly ocean cruise.
He meets Nathan the photographer, who has a secret, he’s part incubus. As they get to know each other they fall in love. This is a cute and sweet story. With a ship that docks where it wants to.
I’m looking forward to the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2024This gives us an interesting view into the paranormal world, where we learn the fae are influenced by incubus magic, and even a cruise ship gets in on the fun and games. It's also wonderful to see that a chubby wallflower can find someone who loves him for himself. As for family, they love Josh no matter what, even if they go a bit overboard.
I just wonder if we'll ever learn more about the little dragon shifter. 😁
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2019Cute story. I liked that Josh's family took him on a gay friendly cruise to help him find a boyfriend. But I felt bad that his mother was so over the top with her matchmaking schemes. I actually hated her for a while. She was really obnoxious. I wanted to take the fishing rod of mistletoe from her and snap it in half. I was surprised Josh didn't. His sisters weren't as bad but I wasn't loving his sister-in-law either. She kept looking down on Nathan because he worked on the ship. I really liked Nathan and how he kept showing up wherever Josh was. I did feel bad that his shipmates looked down on him because of his past and I'm glad that Josh didn't. I liked them together. They were sweet but Nathan definitely brought out Josh's confidence.
I liked the paranormal aspect of the book a lot. It was funny to think about all those different paranormal being in a ship together. It was really fun to imagine.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2020The story started off a little bit 'beginner writer ', but as the plot thickened, the writing improved. The two guys got together ultra quickly, one of them quarter sex demon, the other human. When the two were in a highly loving mood, the fairy crew members/passengers caught the lovin' bug and went all lovey-dovey as well.
A nice idea to have a cruise ship worked by paranormal folk, and all hiding in plain sight.
I felt the side characters were not as fleshed out as I would have liked. But overall, a good writing effort.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2021What happens when you cross the paranormal and the Love Boat? An LBTQ+ friendly ship where people are always falling in love and paranormal hide in plain site! A cute little book about an incubus who is 3/4 human and the man he falls for.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2021This book is a fun paranormal romance. Nathan is part incubus and falls in love with Josh who is human. I like Josh's family. They are a bit overwhelming but supportive and fun as well. I also enjoy reading about many paranormal creatures though most are only in passing. If you like paranormal romance, this is a fun book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2018Nathan is the official photographer of the Pride of the Caribbean, a ship cruise that’s LGBT friendly, Family friendly and Paranormal friendly. Nathan is also a quarter incubus, a sex demon.
Josh’s family decided to book the Christmas week on the Pride of the Caribbean. What Josh thinks is a family trip for the holidays is, in fact, a plot by his mom and sisters to find him a boyfriend.
The attraction between Nathan and Josh is off the charts, but is it enough for them to overcome all their inner demons?
The Boyfriend Cruise by Deanna Wadsworth is my third book by this author, and I really liked it.
Josh was happy to be with his family and his best friend on a cruise for Christmas. He wasn’t so happy to hear that it was a plot from his meddling mother and sisters to find him a boyfriend during the cruise. The boyfriend cruise like they named it. He refuses to believe that someone as hot and beautiful than Nathan would want him, and between his own insecurity and his obnoxious meddling family, it’s not easy for him to just relax and enjoy his time with this hot, beautiful and kind man. I loved Josh. I could relate to him, his insecurities, his wish to find his one and only and not aging alone. I loved him, really, he’s sweet, smart, funny with a hot wild side. I loved how openminded he was with Nathan and the other members of the cruise and most of all, I loved that even if he was shy and unsure, he wasn’t weak, he had a temper and didn’t hesitate to speak his mind.
Nathan was lost when he came to the Pride of the Caribbean. He didn’t know he was an incubus, so he did a lot of bad things, but not because he was a bad man, but because he couldn’t help it, his demon was out of control. It was only when he came on the cruise that he found about his demon and discovered the paranormal world. When he met Josh, Nathan wants to be with him from the beginning, and he wants to finally have someone who will love him completely with his strengths and weaknesses. Nathan touched me, he was so unsure of himself and so scared to lose Josh if he finds out what Nathan really was. I especially loved how Nathan fights for Josh and their chance to have a future together.
I enjoyed a lot of the book. The plot was easy to follow, it was well written, funny and dynamic. Josh's family is hilarious even if I would have died from embarrassment with a mom like his. It’s the first book in this series (I hope it’s a series) and the author wrote the background and the characters of her universe very well. It’s definitely a series I will follow.
It’s 4 optimuMM for them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet romance
I really liked Nathan and Josh's story.
It was sweet and very hot. It had fun moments and some soul searching moments and I really liked it.
I loved Josh's family, though the women were a little too pushy, the men were wonderful.
Overall a great read
