SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE DUELLING DUKES is the sixth Victorian crime thriller in the Early Casebook of Sherlock Holmes series.
'an excellent window into Victorian life for the privileged classes, which blends beautifully into the original Conan Doyle series. The core characters are engaging, and the plot is interesting. This is a very enjoyable read which I recommend.' - Promoting Crime Blogspot

- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2024I've gotta say this one was a fun adventure to read. You get to see a little bit more of the Holmes we know. I thought it was a rather very good story filled with a variety of characters who all become involved in some way to the murder to be solved. If you love stories about Sherlock Holmes then definitely give this one a shot.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2024Ms Stratmann is true to Conan Doyle. She captures the language and the era of Sherlock quite successfully. Although she creates a young Sherlock she is wise enough not to create a young Watson, but rather a medical student about ready to practice. And he is totally different than Watson. And Holmes may treat him better than Holmes treats Watson. She creates a viable relationship between the two. And via the other characters of the novel she creates a very believable young Holmes and Stamford. She has written five other young Holmes novels. I will check them out. You might also. See what you think.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining story, keeps you interested
Not Conan Doyle but still a good effort at a Sherlock Holmes ‘origin’ story. Worth a read at 99p.
