The Five Feathers is the 2nd book in Janet Blackwell’s Filey Chronicles, and is the explosive sequel to The Bridge and the Butterflies.Meg, Will, and Mirabel have emerged from the events of the summer but can’t relax their guard.Things are beginning to happen again.Threatening dreams, whispering voices in the dark, messages scratched into wood.Someone is searching, but who are they and why are they targeting Meg?While they are protected by the robot Diggleby, Meg feels safe enough, although the powers that saved them in the summer have grown more powerful and harder to control. It’s when her mother falls ill and Digglesby acts oddly, that Meg realises how much rests on her shoulders. The Filey chronicles are inspired by the dramatic north east coast of England and the true story of a foster child who arrived at midnight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting sequel

Having thoroughly enjoyed The Bridge and the Butterflies, the first part of The Filey Cronicles by Janet Blackwel,l I couldn't wait to get hold of the sequel, The Five Feathers, on kindle. I'm delighted to say it lived up to my expectations starting with a creepy opening chapter and progressing rapidly through a series of exciting incidents to an ending which has left me eagerly awaiting the next instalment.
It was good to be reacquinted with Meg, Will, Diggleby and other characters from the first book but the mysterious Mrs Henderson , Mr Finbur and the President all added even more excitement and humour.

It was good to catch up with characters from the first book who now seem like old friends. Several new characters appear in this book, the second in the trilogy, adding to the twists and turns of the plot. Full of drama and suspense - can't wait for the final book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good second book in the world of Meg and her friends

This continued the unfolding story of the world of Meg Will and their friends from many places. We learn more about why there is a bridge from the parallel world and new characters in Mrs Henderson and Mr Finbar. Diggleby remains my favourite even if his cooking is not as prominent. Where next though? As ever the multiple cliff hangers keep us guessing.
