The Flirt Alert: A Enemies to Lovers Romance. (Hate to Love You Standalones) Kindle Edition
The Flirt Alert is a scorching, standalone, billionaire, enemies to lovers, best friend’s brother, forced proximity, STEM workplace, HEA romance.
Once invisible to her, I'm now inescapably entwined with Shay Stojanović—my best friend's twin and the ultimate gamer dream girl who transformed one reckless night into a whirlwind of heartbreak. Years later, as cofounder of a billion-dollar gaming empire, I'm blindsided when she's handed a top executive role under my watch. Determined to drive her out, I plot her professional demise, but fate has other plans.
Stranded together in a remote mountain lodge, cut off by snow and secrets, the truth crashes down like an avalanche: Shay is battling a hidden, chronic illness, revealing vulnerabilities I never saw behind her vibrant facade. Suddenly, the game changes. Old wounds reopen, and old desires reignite with an intensity that neither of us can ignore.
As the cold winds howl outside, the heat between us burns hotter than ever. But with my trust issues and Shay's deep-seated insecurities, our fiery reconnection is as perilous as the storm raging outside. Can we navigate the treacherous path from adversaries to soulmates? Will understanding and forgiveness be enough to mend the fractures of the past?
Cuddle up with this riveting story that brilliantly blends the harsh realities of living with chronic illness and the profound healing of forever love.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2023I really enjoyed this standalone brothers best friend romance. I am a huge fan of Kaylene Winter’s LTZ series and was super excited to read this one. I truly enjoyed Shay’s character. She makes so much progress through this story and it’s amazing to watch. Austin’s character is the perfect combination of strong and vulnerable. What makes this an enemies to lovers romance all stems from Austin’s depth of emotions with regard to Shay and I love that basis for a romance story. The only reason this is a 4 star vs a 5 star is that the story seemed to stall out a bit about 3/4 through and got a touch repetitive but it wasn’t enough to take away from the overall story. I am a huge fan of this author and highly suggest her books to any romance fan.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2023What happens when the nerd becomes a billionaire and the popular girl meet up years after high school? Sparks that what. And pure unadulterated hate from the former nerd.
Austin hates Shay with a passion and even his best friend Miles, who is a twin with Shay knows it. So when Miles offers a job to Shay at their company, it’s no wonder Austin is livid.
Communication, or the lack of it is just the beginning of this relationship and the sparks that fly begin the newest story by Kaylene Winter.
Kaylene knows romance and fun. This book is the next in her repertoire and it’s a winner.
If you live strong characters, fury, laughter and angst along with steamy scenes, this is the book you need to read.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2024This was a good book. It had moments where it was super captivating and others where you could care less. I was able to put the book down for a couple months and pick it back up with no hesitation if that says anything. In the beginning of the book, there is plenty of playful/hateful banter but about halfway the book turns to more of real life day to day struggle of keeping a relationship alive after it had burned so bright in such a short time frame. Good but not epic.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book after having received a free copy.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2023Wow, just wow! Shay Austin‘s story was a true roller coaster ride. From hate to love over many years. I love the way Kaylene sheds light on and deals with epilepsy. So many people suffer from this disease and this shows how hard it is to live with it. I love the way Austin takes care of his family. He puts Shay And her health first, in all things. We need to clone Austin for every woman in the world. Can’t wait for the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2024Good story. They once shared a one-night stand that led to heartbreak. Now they work together and old wounds are opening up, as are realizations.
This review reflects my own personal thoughts about this book and hasn't been influenced or bought by anyone else, nor should it be taken to influence anyone else to agree with it.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2023The Flirt Alert has everything you want we have a billionaire, enemies to lovers, best friend’s brother, forced proximity. Shay and Austin have so much history and issues with each other they have to move forward from. I loved how Shay and Austin were forced with one another the banter and tension between these two was so good. Great read. Both main characters gave us so much back history from their POV. Having dual POV is my favorite in a book.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2024This is for when you're in the mood for something cute and okay with a LOT of spice.
I liked the character growth, mostly for the male lead because I strongly disliked his character for a bit before he calmed down and became likeable. He starts the book holding a grudge against the female lead because of an incident in high school (which was at least ten years ago) and was mean to her when she first started working at his company. He did chill out, which I was grateful for, but sometimes was still a bit iffy of a character.
I liked the female lead and the epilepsy representation. I felt it was explained in clear terms and also shown as something that can be challenging yet manageable, especially with a strong support team. She did sound a tad bit like a high-schooler with her "popular slang" and abbreviations but generally was a strong character.
I will say, the beginning almost completely turned me off from the book. To be honest, I can't quite remember why, but the characters frustrated/annoyed me. But once they calmed down and settled into actually liking each other, it flowed much better.
I do think the transition from hatred to lust to love was extremely rushed. Plus, there were several side plot points that could have been settled but never were. And, what really annoyed me the most, was the unnecessary time stamps at the start of each chapter. Yes, these time stamps are useful when it has been some time since the previous chapter left off (e.g. "two months later", "Christmas day", etc) but we absolutely DO NOT need them when the next chapter just switches to the next character's point of view (e.g. "six seconds later", "two minutes later", etc.) It bothered me so badly because the scene doesn't change, just the perspective, so I don't need to be warned how much time it took to transition into the next character.
This book doesn't start out the strongest, but it does get better.
