I still live in Partington, the small town in Manchester, UK where I was born, raised and attended school. Now a wife and mother to 6 children, whom we've also raised here. We live with them, and a small menagerie of animals. I've always loved the underdog, the fighter, but let's face it, we all want to believe in 'A happily ever after' As a huge fan of books (book nerd is the term my children use), I have an immense romance collection; Kate Hardy, Hannah Howell, Jill Shalvis etc., But also includes paranormal romance, JR Ward, Lynsay Sands, Christine Feehan, Kresley Cole etc., If I'm not writing, I've got my head stuck in a good book. You can't beat reading, watching the plot and characters come to life in your imagination. When I was younger, I tended to re-write books and fairy tales where I was not completely happy with the ending. So after having a varied career in everything from Retail, Admin, Customer Service and Teaching unemployed adults. I decided it was time I started to do something I love with my life and write my own stories.

JF Holland was born at home in January 1968. Now a wife and mother to 6 children, she lives with her husband, 4 of her children still at home - and a small menagerie of animals. She's still lives in the small town on the border of Manchester and Cheshire (UK) where she was born and raised.

She's always loved the underdog, the fighter. But, let's face it, we all want to believe in a happily ever after. She enjoys spending time with her family, and a good rock concert if her body allows it. Apart from that, if she's not writing, she's usually got her head stuck in a good book – romance of course. To her, both reading and writing are like a screen as she watches the story come to life in her imagination. From as far back as she can remember, she's either written or read. When younger, she tended to re-write books and fairy-tales where she wasn't completely happy with the ending. Let’s just say – her penchant for doing so confused the hell out of her children once they learned how to read themselves: none of the books matched the stories she'd been reading to them growing up.

Until she became ill she had a varied career including Admin, Customer Service, and Teaching unemployed adults IT and customer service skills. Now at home full time, classed as disabled - she finds that neuro fog can make both life and writing fun and challenging at times. So, instead of twiddling her thumbs and feeling sorry for herself, she decided it was time to do something which she loved. Therefore, she began to write her own stories - it keeps her mind active and she finds it enjoyable. Now a member of the Romance Novelists Association (RNA) which she joined at the end of 2017 - a later bloomer and a tad forgetful. Just under under 3-years after she released her first book, she now has over 14 titles out in both Contemporary and Paranormal Romance - and more coming.

    Kitty has had enough of playboys. She’s just split up with one, and her boss is parading ex’s through his office like there is no tomorrow. Deciding that men are more trouble than they’re worth - she pins her hair up tight, dons a pair of glasses and doesn’t try to draw any attention to herself.

    When a particularly annoying encounter with her boss ensues, she lets him know exactly what she thinks of him, and it isn’t particularly pretty. What she doesn’t realise is that her fiery outburst has just placed a bright red cross on forehead. Blake has finally taken notice of her and he wants her for himself.

    I loved this incredibly engaging read. Poor Blake’s frustration had me grinning and when they finally manage to get it together - the sex scenes are steamy hot! Now, can they put the past firmly in its place and find a future together? You’ll have lots of fun finding out! :)

    I absolutely loved the tension between Kitty and Blake throughout this book. Blake is a hot guy, Kitty’s boss, and isn’t afraid to go through woman after woman. Kitty is the opposite. She hates Blake for what he does and hides her looks to ensure that he won’t notice her. One day, things change, and she lets Blake know exactly how she feels. The result isn’t what she hoped for however. Now he has his sights on her.

    Kitty and Blake were so well-developed they felt like real people. I loved every interaction between the two of them because it was always laced with some emotion. The dialogue was as strong as the character development and so were the details of the setting. This is a great book to what I imagine starts a wonderful series. If you’re a fan of angsty romance, this book is for you!

    I only skimmed the last few chapters, but read enough to know that I did not want to venture any further. The book is in sore need of editing. I had a difficult time following the story because some sentences went on forever strung together by a great deal of commas. The author apparently disliked using periods. Grammar was another prevalent problem. Some examples below:

    ‘That was when we were at the park’ Blake said taking the picture from her, ‘how on earth did you manage to take it when you were sat with me?’

    ‘I would never cheat on you, you of all people are safe from that, I’m sorry honey I should have told you how much I love you’ he heard her gasp and her fingers dug into his back as she rubbed her face on his chest.

    ‘I’ll have them ring my mobile once they have answers’ he told her as they moved towards the ambulance, but he had his suspicions, ones he wasn’t willing to share just yet, but he would once he made sure that she was okay after being checked over.

    ‘I don’t know why you’re so shocked, didn’t you once say that I excel at everything I put my mind to’ and the whole room lit up with laughter as she scowled at him but couldn’t hold onto it, her happiness showing in her glowing cheeks and sparkling eyes.

    A few hours later and a major scare due to her haemorrhaging because her placenta didn’t dislodge properly; until they gave it a little help and he’d finally been able to breathe again.

    I could go on with more passages, but I want to move on to another book.

    Yeah..a pass.

It’s a nice feel good romance with some office angst and the usual self-doubt women sometimes suffer from when confronted by a gorgeous looking male, and her boss at that. Kitty Phillips has been working as an assistant to her boss, Blake Dennison, who is hot looking and has his share of women. Kitty, who did everything possible to disguise her looks, didn't think Blake would switch his attention to her, until another let down by her current boyfriend causes her to lose control, which resulted in a passionate encounter with Blake in his office. From then, things were not the same. The atmosphere in the office was on sizzle alert every time they came together. If you like sweet, romantic love stories, with lovable characters, then you’ll enjoy this book.

    Blake was a successful self made millionaire. His pa Kitty is his right hand person. It isn't until Kitty walks in on her new guy with his employee getting it on in his office when Blake finally looked at her in a romantic way. Their relationship continues to be enough and they fall in love getting their HEA and a surprise.
    This audiobook was narrated by Mitchell Pett who did a fine job.

    Kitty Phillips has been working as a PA to her boss Blake Dennison for around two years, and in that time she has kept both her beauty and her true identity hidden behind a purposely frumpy image.
    Also during this time she has fielded calls from disgruntled and abandoned ex's that her boss hasn't wanted around anymore, so she takes him as a player.
    After catching her boyfriend in a compromising position she lets go at Blake with both barrels blazing, giving him the piece of her mind she should have given her now ex. But Blake wakes up to just how passionate, fiery and beautiful Kitty is during this outburst, and to have her becomes a challenge he makes every effort to overcome.
    I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, as well as hot, and yes I have read books like this before, but to me the characters were more real and believable than any others I have read in this kind of story.
    Kitty was great, and I thought her character was so funny and endearing.
    Blake however is my new book boyfriend. He sounded just perfect when we got to meet the real him, sigh.....

    I found The Only One a very satisfying read. The two main characters were almost larger than life, yet believably so, and sexual attraction positively pulsated between the handsome pair. And they are indeed handsome but, as the saying goes, handsome is as handsome does... And Blake's casual treatment of readily available women is hardly an indication of handsome doing!

    It takes all of the author's undoubted writing skills to work her magic and reveal hidden depths in the hero's character and, while working with the man has brought his foibles and frailties into sharp relief, it is also possible in time for Kitty to see beyond them and imagine - hope - dream - long for - feel! so much more.

    Lucky for her as Kitty is totally unable to control her lust for Blake.

    The development and description of their relationship is a lesson in how it should be done and the ending rounds things off in an equally erotic and satisfying way.

    Nice work, Julie, but I feel that a final edit might have made The Only One even more enjoyable..

    The only one is a fantastic story and it really pulled you in, I loved the whole story line and the characters where just brilliant!!

    Blake and kitty work together but soon find that they see each other differently. You can feel the chemistry between them and I loved the little twists and turns the story took you on....This author writing is brilliant and she captures you from the start, I couldn’t wait to read till the end and just find out if these characters found there HEA.

    This story definitely deserves 5 🌟 and I can not wait to read more from this author and this series.
