He jumped to his death in front of witnesses. Now his wife is charged with murder.

Five years ago, Erin Kennedy moved to New York following a family tragedy. She now lives happily with her detective husband in the scenic seaside town of Newport, Long Island. When Erin answers the door to Danny's police colleagues one morning, it's the start of an ordinary day. But behind her, Danny walks to the window of their fourth-floor apartment and jumps to his death.

Eighteen months later, Erin is in court, charged with her husband's murder. Over that year and a half, Erin has learned things about Danny she could never have imagined. She thought he was perfect. She thought their life was perfect.

But it was all built on the perfect lie.

Just told the hubby, “I just finished a really good book.”

The Lie. The Truth. The Whole Truth. The twists. The time shifts. The end. I didn’t want this book to end.

Highly recommend reading this!

Excellent

Just excellent! Not too many characters , enough twists to keep you guessing up to the very end.

Just awful

The pace is all wrong in this novel. The author held back pertinent information far too long, expecting the reader to figure it out on their own to the point of the reader no longer caring. That’s an amateur mistake. The characters were almost comedic. The courtroom scenes showed the author’s lack of knowledge of the US’ system. The author also didn’t have any knowledge of or a good fact checker when it came to police procedures. The editing was abysmal. I finished it because it was like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion and one can’t turn away. The author needs to stay on her side of the pond and disparage those who serve and lay their lives on the line there. I’m usually not this brutal, but this book really sucked.
