The Perfect Pass: MM Bisexual Awakening Romantic Comedy (Nickel City Bandits) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 188 ratings

I’m in love with my best friend, and it could cost me everything.

Austin Maloney
Playing professional hockey is my way to provide a better life for myself and my little brother. I can’t do anything that will put that goal at risk. Yet lately, I'm having feeling towards my best friend that I can't ignore. Giving in to that temptation could block my shot at going pro. How can I juggle my obligations to my family when more than anything I want Logan to captain my heart?

Logan Larkman

Hockey was never my end game. It has been a way to pass time until I am able to pursue other dreams... both emotionally and professionally. The biggest play I’m making now is proving to my best friend that we’re as good together off the ice as as we are on. I'm well aware he has everything to lose. How can I prove I’ll have his back as the perfect partner, if he won't give us a chance?

If you like friends-to-lovers stories that feature a bisexual awakening, innuendo-filled hockey banter, and ice melting heat, this is the book you've been waiting for!

RM is an introverted Canadian author who likes to write about love while freezing in the winter. Her mission is to always make you swoon and snort laugh, sometimes even in public.

She talks to her cat, Moon, and sometimes people. She married her prince charming, who often inspires her characters, but still can't place dirty clothes in the hamper.

When she's not writing swoony men to fall in love with, she's in her garden providing mosquitoes with an alternative food source. She can also be found inventing new swear words on the golf course.

This is a sweet story about Logan and Austin who start out as friends and then grow into a relationship and become more to one another. They are supportive of one another and they have dreams of doing good things for the world together. As Austin realizes the scope of his feelings for his friend he has to come to terms with wanting to be a pro and being in love with a man and potentially being out as he pursues that dream which is a real dilemma. This is a good story about the progress of their relationship as they figure things out including how to be with one another and still pursue their respective dreams.

This is Book #2 in this NICKEL CITY BANDIT SERIES. Austin the NHL hopeful and Logan are finding there footing together. This is a look at how family matters the most but love has to be nurtured. These two face difficult circumstances but together they can make a difference. I loved the dynamic of this couple. R.M. NEILL is a new Author to me. I'm looking forward to read more in the future. Also the epilogue is stellar. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AUTHOR AND THIS NICKEL CITY BANDIT SERIES!!!!!!

I love these tropes - teammates/friends falling in love, hockey and bi/gay for you romance. There are good ideas in this, but it is so incredibly rushed that nothing is really good here. Austin and Logan are established as happily ever after 20 then 40% into the story and it left me wondering what else there could be. Repetition, that's what. Because it sets everything up so early in the story then seems to resolve the issues it feels like the author just harps on and repeats the topics. Either take the time to sort it out fully within the story or get it done and leave it. This speedrunning through issues only to retread them is so annoying. There’s also a formality to the writing and dialog that hurts the sincerity of the story and makes it seem like a parody at times. I won't even address all the stupid stuff involving Austin's dad.

This is honestly a 2 star read at best, but I bumped it up to 3 because they adopted Barney. They dragged it out to the end and I was ready to drop this to a single star if they included that cat in the story only to leave him to rot, unadopted at that shelter. Instead, Barney gets a home for the rest of his life and that's really the only plotline in this that I enjoyed and will remember.

It was… meh. Likeable characters but no real conflict and the book starts after they’ve already gotten together. I wanted more from it.

Logan and Austin are great. They are alike in that they both have big hearts, want to help others and help animals. How they differ is Austin is the serious one while Logan is a goofball. After Austin comes to terms with his feelings, both physical and emotional, for Logan they still keep it secret. Well, they believe they do but find out they are terrible actors. Everyone supports them except Austin's parents who have managed to make younger brother Jacob leave home too. Their dad makes threats toward Jacob knowing that Austin will always take care of him first. This causes a hiccup in the Austin/Logan romance. But with supportive friends and actual loving family these two have a fighting chance. With fur babies Barney and Lucky how could it go wrong?!

This is a quick read about two young men just trying to figure out what they are going to do with their lives. Austin is looking to go pro with hockey while Logan is trying for a modeling job that would keep him close to Austin. These two have been friends for a long time but have just recently started to explore more. This is about them deciding that they want to be a couple and how that will work. Austin has issues with his father and also has to decide if he wants to be out of the closet or not. It’s a good book. These two are sweet together and the romance is really there from the start.

I really enjoyed this story of hockey teammates who fall in love. I thought Logan and Austin were good together, and the caution over being out in hockey was handled well. The story was sweet and heartwarming, and I loved the HEA. Now I need to go back and read book one!

Logan and Austin are so cute together this book was perfect after a few very hard angst book this was soft and mushy and beautiful. There is a villain of sorts and it was a shocker and evoked thankfully short lived anger. This is gay Christmas movie material!!!

MM Bisexual awakening, romantic comedy. Easy to read with sweet characters. Austin and Logan have been teammates and friends for two years before Austin realised he had more than friendly feelings for Logan, a drunken confession from Logan helps to change their relationship. HEA
