    Publisher Description

‘I did something terrible Grace. I hope you can forgive me…’

Grace hasn't been the same since the death of her best friend Charlie. She is haunted by Charlie's last words, and in a bid for answers, opens an old memory box of Charlie's. It soon becomes clear there was a lot she didn't know about her best friend.

When Grace starts a campaign to find Charlie's father, Anna, a girl claiming to be Charlie's sister steps forward. For Grace, finding Anna is like finding a new family, and soon Anna has made herself very comfortable in Grace and boyfriend Dan's home.

But something isn't right. Things disappear, Dan's acting strangely and Grace is sure that someone is following her. Is it all in Grace's mind? Or as she gets closer to discovering the truth about both Charlie and Anna, is Grace in terrible danger?

There was nothing she could have done to save Charlie... or was there?

A compelling, gripping psychological thriller perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, I Let You Go, and The Girl With No Past.

    APPLE BOOKS REVIEW

We were spellbound by Louise Jensen’s incredibly creepy debut. Twenty-five-year-old Grace is tormented by the death of her best friend, Charlie, who left behind a cryptic note. As Grace tries to unravel the mystery behind Charlie’s tragic fate, she lets her relationships with everyone else crumble. A thriller to keep you up all night, The Sister’s many twists and turns include ’80s school flashbacks—complete with Club biscuits and Clarks shoes—and sinister scenes in which Grace’s paranoia bubbles over.

    PUBLISHERS WEEKLY JUN 11, 2018

Grief's lingering residue and the need to keep connections with the deceased make an emotional and gripping foundation for British author Jensen's first novel. Four months after the death of Grace Matthews's best friend from childhood, Charlotte "Charlie" Fisher, the inconsolable Grace is sleepwalking through her job (as a classroom assistant at a preschool in her English village) and her relationship with her live-in boyfriend, Dan. Charlie always wanted to know who her father was, information that her alcoholic mother refused to divulge, and Grace resolves to find out. Acting as amateur sleuths, Dan and Grace track down his name Paul Lawson and their search results in a call from Anna Lawson, who says she was also Paul's daughter. Grace and Anna instantly bond, and Anna soon moves into their spare bedroom. Then Grace's email is hacked, she suffers a nut allergy attack, she loses her job, and her school is vandalized incidents that suggest that someone is out to get her. Surprising twists, strong characters, and a fresh look at gaslighting elevate this psychological thriller.

    Surprise ending!

It got rather confusing with keeping characters straight but the ending was something I could never have imagined.

    Amigee , 04/16/2017

So long to get to anything

When I last opened the book, and I always finish a book, looked at the page I was on, and the # of the last page. By page 310,

I had to call it quits. I just couldn't keep trudging along.
