Thinking It Over (True-blue Book 4) Kindle Edition
"Jasper and Austin take your heart from the first page. They are so darn sweet and kind." - Books Are Love Blog
When a young teacher connects with the principal of his school, work and ex issues, the possibility of happiness, and a chocolate Labrador called Penny means they have a lot to think over.
Newly appointed teacher, Jasper Taylor, can't believe his luck. After a year, he's found a job with the possibility of a permanent contract, which finally allows him to put his teaching degree to good use. After meeting the silver-haired principal of the school, Jasper discovers his new position offers an additional temptation. He knows he should retreat, but who said avoiding attraction was easy, especially when the man he's crushing on seems too good to be true?
Well-respected and focused on his career, Austin Harrison is at the top of his game. He's turned a struggling school around, has finally put up boundaries with his demanding ex, and may just have secured full custody of his chocolate Lab, Penny. The appointment of the new English teacher, Jasper, threatens to unsettle the stability he's been working toward. Austin's attraction is immediate, heady, and oh so complicated. But does complicated mean he has to walk away?
Join Jasper and Austin in Becca Seymour’s stand-alone low-angst, feel-good M/M romance series, True-Blue Book 4. In the small town of Kirkby, there are busybodies, dogs who cause chaos, families who have the “best” of timing, and opportunities for good men to find their perfect match.Shop this series

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2025This book was so sweet and adorable with some sour notes in their with Austin’s ex. But we all know how ex’s can get. In this case the ex was out to cause trouble anyway he could. But Jasper took everything in stride and didn’t let it affect him and his relationship with Austin. A lot of us could learn from Jasper and how he handled things. This book is sweet, wonderful, adorable, and a perfect love story with some sexy heat added into the mix. Love this book and this series. Giving this a 5 star ⭐️ no questions asked. 💜
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020Jasper and Austin take your heart from the first page on. They are so darn sweet and kind. Jasper gives off more positivity and just is so adorable. Always pleasant and sweet. Always thinking only good thoughts and very honest and open.
Austin is open and honest as well but his positivity has taken a hit since his ex. And his ex is a piece of work. Austin is older than Jasper but doesn’t care. He is kind and sweet. Gentle and real. These two from the beginning are just too adorable and perfect for one another. They help each other through feelings of vulnerability and support one another no matter what. And they are always open with each other on how they are feeling and what is going on in their minds. They don’t allow the other to feel less or are intuitive as to how the other is feeling and assure each other of where they are in each other’s lives.
The plotline of Frankie is great and I do hope we see a story of him and also of Ian. Frankie adds a new element tot he story because he shows us how family bands together and how when you love someone as Jasper does Austin, you are there for them even from afar when they need your support and love. And seeing these two work through so many things together is refreshing. There isn’t angst or drama but open and honest communication and telling each other how they are feeling even when they are feeling scared and vulnerable and that is refreshing. I was a little sad at the end because Jasper’s job situation is really up in the air and I so wanted him to be settled in that respect. But the love and support that you feel from Austin and Jasper for each other has you smile and just know that all will turn out as it is meant to. They also have a great circle of friends and family that are happy for them and there for them no matter what.
From the beginning to the end you can feel their love and support for each other as they journey to being a forever couple and their story to that has you smile and just enjoy the ride to the end.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2021Principle Austin has changed a failing school around & provided for the small town. Openly gay principle is rocking a few boats but the success and an ex that's a pita has win over the small town. New teacher Harper is thrilled to work close to home. He came back to the small town when his dad passed to take care of his grieving mother. The instant connection to these men - when you know you know. Boss & employee another matter. This couple have a lot to wade through does UT bring them closer or further apart. A great story. M/M romance V2S2 more book reviews @my2centsbooklover Thanks!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2021Oh but this was a cute and romantic story. If you’re looking for a low angst read—then look no further!
I absolutely loved Jasper and Austin together. I did worry about the potential issue that would arise because of the workplace power imbalance, but that never seemed to be a problem. The characters of Kirkby to make several appearances in this story, and it just made me fall for this small town series so much more. I’m so annoyed with myself for having this a to be read for such a long time. At least, I finally got to read their story. I don’t think Becca Seymour is capable of writing a bad story. I refuse to believe that. Clearly, this series and her authors are evidence to that.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2023I love Jasper & hoped he & Ian would become a thing, but I love that they just became such close friends instead.
I’m not crazy about the age gap between Jasper & Austin but their personalities aligned so perfectly that it wasn’t an issue at all. I loved how mature & open they were with each other about how they were feeling & what they were thinking. It was so refreshing!
I’m curious to (eventually?) find out what was going on with Frankie when he fell off the grid. I got the impression that it wasn’t necessarily related to what happened later on.
I am disappointed that the story was incomplete & so many things were left up in the air & that the next book doesn’t continue their story. Hopefully their story continues alongside it though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Falling into place
Jasper let's to find his man in this book and it is just as sweet as the rest!
While the books so far have taken place within known people from their friend group and town, Jasper hasn't found the person for him there. He also hasn't found a job in his field and has been working at the cafe. When a job comes up to fill in for a year at a local school he jumps at the chance. The interview also introduced him to the principal, Austin, who intrigues him both professionally and personally. It turns out the same goes for Austin.
Austin is a little gun shy of relationships after his last failed long term one, but something about Jasper just seems to make him want to try again. The two have a bit to figure out, with the whole working together and principal/teacher thing, but none of it is against the rules. Making sure to keep work life and personal life separate they manage to figure out how they could have a relationship. It was great to see things done along avenues where they didn't have to sneak around or constantly worry about their jobs, instead the figuring was just about proper personal boundaries and ensuring that they were a good fit before becoming public.
There is some drama with an old ex that is really well done, especially when the full group of friends gets involved. While Austin may not have known the men from Kirkby originally, getting involved with Jasper introduces him to them, and soon has him brought into the group. They work great to give social supports to the two men as they figure things out and also hope for a steady and happy life together. The true test to the relationship comes in the form of family and problems happening within, but with help from friends and love and belief in that family it shows how things can work out even when it seems they have gone wrong.
Another excellent book about the men of Kirkby and the sweet relationships they have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet enjoyable age gap romance. 4.5 stars
Okay, this book hooked me in and wouldn’t let go until I’d finished it. It kept me engaged, is well crafted and flowed along so nicely I kept turning the pages until late in the night
There’s two wonderful main characters, Austin and Jasper who work together at the local high school. They actually communicate honestly with each other in a mature way so there’s no angst due to miscommunication, etc. Their attraction to each other is immediate but not acted on straight away but the heat level rises when they do! Also included in the cast of side characters is Penny, the dog who just shines. She is so much better behaved than Austin’s crappy ex! The characters from the previous books also makes appearances but this can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend this book - it’s the perfect way to fill some time with a sweet, low angst, wonderful romance.
