Thunder Road: Badlands Book 7 - A MM Psychic Detective Romance Adventure Kindle Edition
Simon and Vic are home from their honeymoon, just in time for a brand new case!
Mysterious missing person reports, a cursed motorcycle club, and an ancient entity add up to trouble. A bad bargain to stop a long-ago gang war requires a yearly sacrifice from a tightly-knit group of riders, and even their coven of witches hasn’t been able to stop the deaths.
Then the granddaughter of a former lighthouse keeper comes to Simon for help. When the lighthouses were automated, they lost their live-in guardians, who worked protective spells to shield the coast from killer storms and a murderous creature. Those protections are fading, and an old evil has gained power, growing stronger with every life it claims.
Can Simon and Vic end the deaths and disappearances, or have they finally found a foe too powerful to stop?
Thunder Road is an action-packed MM paranormal romance chock full of old magic, protective guardians, found family, an ancient monster, brave motorcyclists, helpful ghosts, loyal friends, psychic visions, hurt/comfort, supernatural suspense, and an evolving, established romantic relationship with all the feels.

About the author

Morgan Brice is the romance pen name of bestselling author Gail Z. Martin. Morgan writes urban fantasy MM paranormal romance, with plenty of action, adventure and supernatural thrills to go with the happily ever after. Gail writes epic and urban fantasy, with less romance, more explosions.
All of the modern-day Morgan Brice and Gail Z. Martin series crossover, so characters from one series appear in cameos and on page in important secondary roles in books from other series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the more you read the more the expanded universe of friendships and connections becomes clear.
Morgan and Gail believe that paranormal elements make any story even better, and her worlds are full of ghosts, psychics, shifters, creatures, vampires, monster hunters, and magic.
She's also a huge fan of the TV show Supernatural. (Chibi art by Kamidiox)

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2025Format: KindleBrice does it again in this latest installment of her "Badlands" series. This time, Simon and Vic face a new kind of foe, an ancient evil that has brokered a deal with a local biker gang for a yearly sacrifice of one of their members. However, Simon and Vic find signs that the entity is not abiding by the deal, made stronger by the lapse in protections along the coast from the lighthouses.
It's a fast-moving tale and brings along a lot of the recurring characters from the series, including some of my favorites like Mrs Eppie and Father Anne. And of course, the tale wouldn't be complete without the acerbic observations of Ross, Vic's faithful police partner.
Their foe is an intriguing one and a nice change from the usual diet of ghosts to be found in Myrtle Beach. It's nice to see Brice able to keep the series fresh, in this case with the couple having just returned from their honeymoon.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLighthouse magic! Psychic and ghost tour guide Simon Kincaide, my literary boyfriend, and his partner, homicide detective Vic D’Amato, got married in the last Badlands novel (Point Blank), and the romance continues in Thunder Road. So does the magic and mystery. This time, the automation of lighthouses along the Carolina coast causes problems because the lighthouse keepers had been working magic to keep an ancient enemy at bay. Simon brings together his "found family" of priests, root workers, and other practitioners of magic, and his detective husband Vic forms an unlikely alliance with a local biker gang. Together they work to renew the lighthouse wards and protections and keep the ancient threat subdued. Highly recommended for anyone who loves urban fantasy and paranormal M/M romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIf anyone was worried that Simon and Vic would become a predictable old married couple this book gets rid of that idea! Fresh from their honeymoon they are called to fight an ancient power that has been plaguing a local motorcycle gang and the more vulnerable population of Myrtle Beach for decades. I always love how these stories flow and things that seem to be unrelated are effortlessly brought together.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWell, that was a really intense story with two of my favorite characters. Simon and Vic find homeless people are disappearing and protective magic is waning at the lighthouses as the guardians are gone. A really good story and well worth the read.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2025Format: KindleThis is book 7 in Badlands series but can be read fairly well on its own. You do understand who is who better if read in order and this picks up after Simon and Vic's wedding but still the story has a beginning and end.
I love Simon and Vic and all thier friends and was happy to get another story. I never get enough of them. I love the romance of the established couple, the love they share and all the adventures they get up to. There is magic, Mahem and a happy ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOh I love Simon and Vic.
I never want their story to end. I love all the history and facts that come into play within the story as these two and their friends stop whatever new supernatural thing that is coming into town.
Missed seeing Tracey in this book, but otherwise it was a good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2025Format: KindleThe guys return from their honeymoon and are immediately pulled into a strange situation. Despite all of the research and running around that they do, Simon and Vic still manage to find time for each other. But, while I like the guys, and I like their friends and supernatural network, everything seemed kind of bland in dealing with the monster. I guess we wouldn't want every paranormal problem to be life-threatening, so maybe it is just me.
I noted less than a dozen proofreading issues in the ARC.
