- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022Format: KindleThis is the first time reading a book by Sally Clements, and WOW Im hooked. The story of Trouble In Law was so amazing. The main characters Ella and Aidan was so amazing. Ella is recently divored and trying to figure out her life now that her ex wants his share of her family property. They share a daughter Amber. When Ella gets the call that Amber has become recently engaged she takes off for Kosmima to meet up with Amber and Liam and meet Liams father, possibly get him on her side that they are too young. When she arrives she finds out they arent coming for a few weeks so Ella sets off to meet Liams dad. Who magicially turns into Ella's First love Aidan. Aidan and Ella were so crazy for each other. They are both strong individuals. This book wow you really feel like your right there watching the story unfold, it is written so well. For me there was never a lag in the book that made me want to put it down. Its that good. Aidan is super cute and I love how he remembers everything. Amazing book.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2022Format: KindleI loved Ella’s character! Despite a number of knocks - a cheating spouse, a divorce, her daughter leaving for college in a different country - she soldiers on as best she can. When Ella flies to Greece to prevent her daughter’s wedding, she comes face to face with her past, Aidan, the prospective groom’s father. Aidan has feelings for Ella, but won’t allow her into his life and rejects her to protect his feelings. I really admired Ella - she put her heart on the line and bared her feelings for Aidan even in the face of his rejection. So strong.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022Format: KindleThis is a new author to me and I decided to grab the available ARC offered by Booksirens. I'm glad I did.
Although in honesty, I was ready to list this as a DNF around chapter 4. The story seems to begin very slowly, and I was tempted to be done. What the slow start did was make me invested in Ella's situation, so when the story picked up, I was hooked. I felt her emotions. (Not that I agreed with all of them...)
A couple other parts of this story were a bit slow but then, the pages turned by themselves. Hmmm. This was advertised as a rom-com, but it is not.
Aidan and Ella's situation runs through lots of emotions and several times I was frustrated with them. Their connection is steamy once they get there. It takes a long time for them to get their HEA, so keep that in mind.
I did enjoy the read. Again, a bit slow at the start, but all in all, okay. This is my voluntary review.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2022Format: KindleThis second chance at romance was so unexpected. Elle’s life is in such turmoil, with a recent divorce, her business struggling and now her 18 year old daughter announces that she is getting married. Dropping everything, she heads to Greece to confront her daughter. Hoping to talk to the boy’s father for support. Not realizing he is her ex-boyfriend she walked out on twenty years ago. Loved it couldn’t put it down.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2022Format: KindleI always enjoy Sally's stories, and this one is no different. I read a lot and it's hard to find unique stories. Half of Trouble In Law is set in Greece with an archaeological dig, which was fun. Thanks Sally for another winner!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2022Format: KindleSometimes there was confusion with wrong names being used or something was written and then added, but didn’t make sense, e.g. when we’re introduced to Aiden, Nick comes in and tells him an American woman is waiting for him at the cafe, but the next time it’s from Ella’s POV, she is trying to find a place to sleep and has only mentioned her daughter and not that she wants to talk to Prof. Dempsey.
Other than the above mentioned issues with the writing, the story was good. I did like Ella and Aiden. The side characters were good and added to the story. The end was a bit all over the place. I don’t think the ex-husband needed to be mentioned.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant read
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA second chance romance is one of my favourites but this one left me feeling a bit flat. The story was well written and reasonably well paced but I couldn’t feel the chemistry between Ella and Aidan. Given how their young romance ended I expected more fireworks when they met again but it just seemed to fizzle out.
I haven’t read this author before but I see she has written others so I’ll have a look at them.
