    This was an entertaining Novella that introduces us to Core and Sin. Both are closed off due to trauma suffered in their pasts. Core is wealthy whereas Sin has always struggled and been on her own. Core brings her into his orbit to use in his quest for revenge but both may be getting more than they expected. Since this is just the start of their story, we got to know them and a bit about their backstories (more so for Sin than Core) but they only have one brief introduction in the book. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to find out more.

    This book is the origin story for the FMC Sinthia. She's determined to make her way in the world after being pushed out by her uncaring mother with no help or resources. Her talent as a fashion designer has her on the cusp of success but she is haunted by an ex lover who is stalking her and now the seedy billionaire investor is going to crush her to satisfy his own ambition. And that's where the story ends on a cliffhanger.
    Unfortunately I want pulled in enough by any of the character to continue the series. The story was a bit choppy, and though we learned a bit about the main character and her friend I don't feel a connection enough to be compelled to continue.

    When I agreed to review this as an ARC for Booksprout (which has not affected my rating of this book), I didn't realize that it was only a little over 100 pages and a "part 1" vs. a "book 1." For me, "book 1" implies that it is a complete book; "part 1" implies that it is the first part of a book to be continued in a second book. So if you are thinking that this is a complete novel, it is not. It ends in a cliffhanger and cannot be considered a standalone. That said (I put this out here first to let everyone know what I didn't and what I feel is misleading in the way it is titled), that is my only complaint about this book. It hooks the reader from the very start and leaves her riveted until the end to see what happens next. This is a very quick-moving read, and since it is about 100 pages, it is easily accomplished in one sitting. There are some "dark" aspects to it, so please be forewarned that there may be triggers for some. I always find it a little ridiculous that people read a book where the content is clearly noted with descriptors such as "dark," or "potentially triggering," or "intended for an 18+ audience as there is explicit content" and still end up leaving a poor review BECAUSE the descriptors provided are accurate. If you don't enjoy a little darkness in your romance, this is not for you. If you DO enjoy a little "dark and twisty" (a little nod to "Grey's Anatomy"), then you will enjoy this. It begins pretty hot and heavy, but the rest of the book is mainly story and character building leading into the next one. I am anxious to read the next installment now that I have finished this one -- I want to know what happens next! :)
