About the author

I was born in London, lived most of my life in the south of England. I only say that to excuse writing with a Sarff Lundin accint.
After a lifetime of not knowing what to do, RAF Officer, TV delivery driver, medical rep, trainer, computer guy … I'd even spent three summers running a naturist resort in Portugal. I decided to try something new and retired.
Lying by the pool in the South of France, a story started to take shape in my mind. Then the days got shorter, and the evenings longer, and I started to type. The string of random words turned into “The Uncovered Policeman.” Writing this story, I met the central characters, Bea being the most important. She nagged me into telling what turned into a series of 12 light, cosy romances with a cast of pleasant happy people, with quirky characters.
The New House trilogy, about a couple's first year of retirement in France, followed. “Almost a Year in Occitanie” - No, it is not autobiographical. OK, not very autobiographical.
More recently, Crooke and Loch launch their careers, solving mysteries and crimes in “The Summer of '71” and in a series of follow-up stories spanning the 1970s.
2020 marked the debut of another character … Melody. A lady of a certain age, a generous size and blinding intelligence, who first appears in "Problems and Passions."
The darkness of the great lockdown inspired some darker tales, for example "After The Event." As well as a few more escapist ones, such as "When The Music Stops" featuring the delightful Juliet Evans the singing solicitor

- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2017Once again ted haswritten a great story.he balancesthe serious and humorous aspects well with a lot of fun as well.so get your kit off and see what happens next.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2019This second book in the “Rags to Riches” series by Ted Bun is a good read, much better than the first book, due to the improved writing. The first book had numerous grammatical errors in it, making it difficult to understand at times. I assume that the author proof-read this book, or had someone else proof it for him, since this story flows much better due to fewer errors, and is a more pleasant read. One thing I’m not sure I liked, was the numerous references to Beas' “golden flecked” eyes (I lost count of how many times they are mentioned). The reader is reminded of her eyes repeatedly, so is this leading up to something in future books, or just a fascination of the author?
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2017I havr enjoyed the first two books by Ted that I have read, primarily because I can relate to his main character.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2016The naturist adventures continue, this time in France. British PC Adiscombe, vacationing with his fiance at a French naturist resort, is invited by French police to help with an investigation. Eventually, he successfully uncovers the already naked criminals who have been using the resort for a base of operations. And a French policewoman bares all in the cause of law enforcement. An enjoyable read.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2017I enjoyed this book the second in the series. The characters are likable and glad to be reacquainted with some from the previous book and meeting new characters. It is part of a series but can stand alone. This would be a great beach read. Hope to read more in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2017These words have a prophetic value in this naturist novella. A vacation to a naturist resort takes an interesting as the English PC gets involved in an international crime ring. A twist at the end brings another meaning to learning the Napoleonic Code. The next novella in the series may answer this question. I wonder if I am going go get any sleep tonight?

5.0 out of 5 stars Good story and plenty of info
The second in the series that I've read. Good story and plenty of info, I like the fact that the "crime" is solved before the book ends and there is a set-up for the next episode. Disappointed there were no musical references in this story. Getting ready to order No. 3.
