Love your family, happy reunions or herding cats!
Multiple, interwoven, story lines make this book a delight to read. reader from the USA
Rags and Bea are on the return trip from their adventure in the Caribbean paradise of St Maarten. On the island, they stayed at the famous Club Orient, all expenses paid, while they helped Bea’s long-lost Uncle Dave (as his alter ego Canadian rock star Lucifer Lightning) protect his new recordings from pirates.
They even ended up helping to stage a bare gig while Rags took pictures for the ‘Stripped’ album cover.
The bare gig having gone so well there is a plan for Lucifer Lightning to bring his band to the UK and Europe for a tour and some naturist festival shows. This means that for the first time since before Bea was even a twinkle in her mum’s eye, Mum, Sylvia, and her brother Dave will be on the same continent.
Will it be a happy reunion or will fur fly? Whichever, Rags, the Uncovered Policeman will be there with his camera to record it all for the Family Album.
a recommended read for around the pool, waiting at the airport, or on the train to work dreaming of your next holiday! Crispy in the UK

About the author

I was born in London, lived most of my life in the south of England. I only say that to excuse writing with a Sarff Lundin accint.
After a lifetime of not knowing what to do, RAF Officer, TV delivery driver, medical rep, trainer, computer guy … I'd even spent three summers running a naturist resort in Portugal. I decided to try something new and retired.
Lying by the pool in the South of France, a story started to take shape in my mind. Then the days got shorter, and the evenings longer, and I started to type. The string of random words turned into “The Uncovered Policeman.” Writing this story, I met the central characters, Bea being the most important. She nagged me into telling what turned into a series of 12 light, cosy romances with a cast of pleasant happy people, with quirky characters.
The New House trilogy, about a couple's first year of retirement in France, followed. “Almost a Year in Occitanie” - No, it is not autobiographical. OK, not very autobiographical.
More recently, Crooke and Loch launch their careers, solving mysteries and crimes in “The Summer of '71” and in a series of follow-up stories spanning the 1970s.
2020 marked the debut of another character … Melody. A lady of a certain age, a generous size and blinding intelligence, who first appears in "Problems and Passions."
The darkness of the great lockdown inspired some darker tales, for example "After The Event." As well as a few more escapist ones, such as "When The Music Stops" featuring the delightful Juliet Evans the singing solicitor

- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2023This episode of the Uncovered Policeman was one of the best so far. Rags and Bea continue their fun life along with their expanding circle of friends and family. Can it get any better? We’ll have to keep tuned in to the next books to find out.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2021Book 7 in the "Rags to Riches" series is another great yarn by Mr. Bun in the continuing saga of Rags, Bea and their extended family and friends. I only wish the book had undergone better proofreading. Recommended, nonetheless.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2021Multiple, interwoven, story lines make this book a delight to read. The adventures of Bea and Rags continues. I appreciate the functional family sweetness.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2018I've enjoyed the whole series of books by Ted Bun. His writing is colloquial (British slang, non-Oxford grammar) but easily readable. His take on naturism is easy and positive without some of the screed other writers inject. Would love to live in the life... I don't post 5-star ratings for other than top notch writers, but Ted's books deserve a 5-star for enjoyability and friendliness.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2017This story is great whether you're a naturist or a music lover. If you're both then you'll enjoy this installment. You'll find out what everybody's doing and learn about how much work it is to be a musician.Best of all you'll see one way the characters decompress and relieve the stress the job brings to everyone. So,put on some good classic rock, get comfortable and enjoy the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2020A plausible series that includes a nudist lifestyle plus a solid lesson in business. Fun, interesting and well written. Delightful !
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2017This novella only makes sense to those who have read the previous novellas in this series. It beings together all the loose ends. At this point, I think I need a character chart. This is more about the extended family of Rags and Bea, along with their adventures. I want Bea's birthday present.
