About the authors
Claude Jollet was born in the predominantly French-speaking province of Québec, Canada in 1946. He retired from a 31 year career in operational meteorology in 1997. In addition to his formal training in meteorology, he holds a degree in Computerized Management Systems from Université du Québec à Montréal.
In his spare time, he liked to tinker with radios and antennas. He obtained his license to operate an amateur radio station in 1973. His call sign has been VE2DPE since then.
A self-proclaimed eclectic, he has spawned a number of websites, each a byproduct of his passions: meteorology, amateur radio, "infopreneurship" and... writing, of course. Here are some examples:

ISBN: 978-0-9950273-5-0 (paperback)

Antennes filaires HF pour radioamateurs - Compendium
ISBN : 978-1-9994336-8-0

L'homme et son fardeau: transsudations poétiques
Paperback ISBN: 978-1-9994336-0-4
Kindle eBook ISBN: 978-0-9950273-7-4

- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2017Excellent and informative book. I would recommend to any radio amateur that is looking to improve their antenna. I bult two. Antennas and both play very well.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2024This is book two of a four-book set by the author. I liked the specific information in this book and can use it again. I also learned some things about HF antennas.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2016A good series ' for the shack' with dingo ball's to boot. Is that enuf words yet, oh no.. Done
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2018Great book so far.still reading this
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2017If what you are looking for is the most basic, non-technical introduction imaginable, you'll surely be happy with how readable this is. But the potential buyer should be aware that that is what this is. And I do mean basic. It took less than ten minutes to read it "cover" to virtual "cover." There is almost no technical information here beyond the wire-length-to-frequency formula, and nothing that is not freely available on a great many amateur radio websites. It omits information that is covered in the other three volumes of the series, so it has limited use as a stand-alone volume, and it's $18 for the four-volume set. That's more than 1/3 the price of the paperback edition of the venerable ARRL Antenna Book, which runs to nearly 1,000 pages and includes a CD with searchable text. If you are looking for more than a beginner's introduction, you may want to save your pocket change for a few weeks and spring for the big book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2016Good information
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2019Another simple straight forward antenna reference book
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020This book was mostly about dipoles. It takes a lot of space for them and therefore I don't believe it is for limited space. Misleading title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good read
Simply written just right for a novice like my self. Very useful information on making self build antennas . would recommend for beginners
- abra100proReviewed in Germany on September 15, 2016
2.0 out of 5 stars too basic
if these basic antennas (the all known half wave dipole, for instance) are for limited space, then I wonder, what the author does consider large space. there are just the few widely known antenna types in this book together with tons of references to his other books.
- Wondering WiifmReviewed in Australia on July 15, 2024
1.0 out of 5 stars Do not look for space reduction in this volume.
The technical data in this document is a basic list of per-band antenna types available. Dipoles and verticle radiators are discussed, however limited space (limiting the space of these types or space reduction) is briefly discussed near the end of the 33 pages. Bypass this folio unless you have no amateur clubs or amateurs contactable or near your residence.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as useful as it originally appeared.
Some useful ideas but lacking much content.
- Satisfied ChefReviewed in the United Kingdom on August 12, 2020
1.0 out of 5 stars Just a few pages
This 'book' is just a few pages long and contains information easily available elsewhere. It also suggests buying another book to get the information that should be in this book. Avoid.
