There's Something About Vegas (Las Vegas Nights Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 35 ratings

Five years ago, I did something impulsive.

I turned myself into a cliché when I decided to be spontaneous. Hopping in my car, I took off to Vegas.

I had no idea that decision would come back to haunt me...

One drunk night and a seriously sexy forearm later, I found myself in more trouble than I could have ever imagined.

Now, I am one of Hollywoods hottest, engaged to a rock star, and have everything I could ever want.

Until, my world implodes around me and I find myself running back to where it all began.

There’s Something about Vegas is a story that took a different direction than what I have come to expect from Author Ember-Raine Winters. I thoroughly enjoy her other work and this story was no exception. The story starts with Rissa waking up in Vegas with regrets and leaving like a thief in the night. All she remembers from that night is waking up with an arm draped around her. Fast forward five years and this girl is killing it with her acting career. She has become quite successful and life is moving at a fast pace.

There is just a teensy, weensy, huge, gigantic, problem that stems from her cut and run from five years ago. She needs to find the man that the mystery arm belongs to and settle some issues that stem from that night. In order for her life to stay on the path it is on, Rissa needs to come up with a solution and fast. Before she can really even enjoy her charmed life, disaster strikes in the form of a skanky, backstabbing, co-worker and it has Rissa busting out and heading for some solace with her best friend.

Rissa lands back in Vegas, but this time she is not the only one looking for answers. Cole has been patiently searching for his “one night” woman of his dreams and when he finally finds out who she is, he will do whatever it takes to win her over. Winning her over will take some serious effort because there is a whole lot of family drama this time around. I just adored Cole’s character! He was funny and charming. I loved that he had his stuff together and there were no skeletons or drama from his end. It was beyond endearing all the lengths that he went to in order to make sure Rissa was kept safe from those who would sell her out for their gain.

It was entirely too bad that Cole’s path to Rissa was filled with many complications and if he did indeed want to win her back he is going to have to come clean with a secret of his own. I know I said that Cole had no skeletons in his closet, and that is true. His secret was a situational circumstance but WHAT a situation it was. I personally thought that the secret Cole had was quite unbelievably funny and kinda gross considering everything. I mean what are the chances that life would deliver that type of drama? I think the whole situation with Cole and Rissa was handled with finesse and it was a story that I enjoyed very much.

There was great potential for this story to veer off into the land of Jerry Springer but the Author manages to keep the story right on track. It is a romance that is kept light and swoony by having all the right elements to keep it interesting. There is drama, conflict, romance, and humor, plenty of humor, and these elements are all blended in perfect harmony to make this a fast and fun read. I did not know that to expect when I started reading There’s Something about Vegas but I was quickly swept away by these characters. This is a story that I absolutely recommend and I am eagerly awaiting the continuation of the Las Vegas Nights series.

This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Author, Ember Raine Winters. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

There's Something About Vegas is a sweet and sexy second chance romance. 5 years ago, Rissa was cheated on and she ended up in Vegas to get her mind off things. When she woke up the next morning next to a warm body and only a sexy forearm visible, she fled. Now, she's on the verge of superstardom, she's changed her name, and she's just gotten engaged. But, when her brand new fiancé cheats on her, her best friend takes her to Vegas to get her mind off things, AGAIN.

Cole has spent the last 5 years pining away for his mysterious woman, who took off after their passionate night. He's looked for her endlessly, but never gotten anywhere until just recently, when his PI informs him he found her and that she's on her way to Vegas. Watching Cole and Rissa fall in love was a beautiful thing. They had far too many obstacles, but the journey was sweet, heartfelt and sexy.

I loved There's Something About Vegas. It's a little out of the box for a second chance romance, for one main reason - Cole. Although rich, hot and a casino mogul, he's not even close to being an ass. He's sweet, compassionate and protective of those he cares about. He's a great employer and he treats his employees with the respect every hardworking employee deserves. And the love he showers on Rissa? Downright swoonworthy. Yes, what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas, but in Cole and Rissa's case, it didn't, and I'm glad because their second chance romance is awesome. I'm looking forward to more of this series, perhaps it will be Cassie (Rissa's best friend) and Eric (Cole's head of security) chance, or even Jake, (Cole's brother). Either way, I'm looking forward to more of this world.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via NetGalley.

This book was absolutely fabulous! I was hooked from the first word to the last, I could not put this novel down and finished in it one day. I loved the characters and storyline, and every time I thought I had the book figured out I was taken by surprise with a new twist. This was truly an amazing book by an amazing author!

Rissa is a Hollywood Star. But one drunken, apparently forgettable, night in Vegas changed so much. On the other hand, Cole remembers everything and for the past five years he's been obsessed with finding the young lady who stole his heart one wild and crazy night. Now that they have been reunited, their lives are being turned upside down by the world around them.

I've read so many vegas type novels and they all had one thing in common, a one night stand marriage! This is my absolute favorite thing about these books. But Ember-Raine Winters decided to put her own little twist on this tale. Let's just say there's a bridal name change, and a groom searching the span of five years for his new runaway wife only to find his wife is now a hollywood starlet who also happens to be engaged to his rockstar half brother.

    D.R.A.M.A!!!!

I loved the twists and turns, the quirks, the heat, the sweetness. There's Something About Vegas has absolutely everything I love packed into one romance novel.

Rissa is a genuine good girl and I loved every single thing about her storyline. She was such a sweetheart but I saw the devilish side lurking beneath the surface. Every sweetheart needs their knight in shining armor.

Enter Cole, a hotshot night club owner in Vegas. He's also the husband who's been searching for his runaway bride for the past five years. Cole is the heart and heat of the story. This man is the epitome of book boyfriend.

Overall, There's Something About Vegas was a fun read with a few angst filled moments. This book also reads incredibly fast. I really enjoyed Cole and Rissa's story. This one definitely has me wanting to see what else this author has on the table. I love new to me authors!!
