From New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg comes a new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it’s least expected. Or wanted.
This whole contest was supposed to be easy.
I know, I know. Famous last words.
It’s a long story, but I messed up at work.
Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.
But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone.
Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?
Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of
before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.
But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.
But
he got to me. They got to me. He and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.
And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?
"All the Little Raindrops: A Novel" by Mia Sheridan for $10.39

New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary romance novels that contain a mixture of sweet, emotional, a whole lot of sexy, and a little bit of real. She likes to write strong heroines and damaged heroes, who we love to hate but can’t help to love.

A mom of three, she plots her novels in between school runs, sports practices, and figuring out how to navigate parenting teenagers (send more wine!). More often than not, she does all of this with her laptop in tow, and her mind daydreaming of the current hero she is writing.

Since publishing her first book on a whim in 2013, Kristy has sold over two million copies of her books across twenty different countries and has landed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists over thirty times. Her Driven trilogy has been adapted for film and is available on the streaming platform Passionflix as well as Amazon.

You can find out more about Kristy, her books, or just chat with her on any of her social media accounts. The easiest way to stay up to date on new releases and upcoming novels is to sign up for her newsletter or follow her on Bookbub.

This was both a great book and audiobook. Sweet and sexy with a great dose of fun banter. The level of hotness to this story is huge and not because of hot sex which by the way you will definitely get. The level of hotness is for this wounded sexy gorgeous pilot and single dad Grayson Malone and the way he unconditionally and irrevocably loves his son Luke. Is the love, care and devotion he bestowed upon his son that had me swooning and drooling like a school girl. This is an enemies to lovers story. The banter between main characters Sidney Thorton and Grayson Malone will drive you crazy but in a great way. That is if you love watching the main characters trying to deny the inevitable connection between them. There’s many emotions involve in this book. You will feel all the love, pain, desperation and passion in your heart. The struggle Grayson has to endure to finally open up his heart and also been able to accept a new person to enter and be part of his and Luke’s home made me ache for them. If you are a lover of audiobooks, this one was pretty fantastic. You’ll never go wrong with Zachary Webber and Grace Grant as narrators. Been that this is a series of standalone you won’t need to read previous books to catch up with Grayson and Sidney story. Although I recommend reading the previous two books because you will love to meet Grant and Grady. They will make a few appearances in Worth the Risk. Now I’m looking forward to reading Control.

    First Impressions
Cockpit is the finale in the "Everyday Heroes" series and I was really looking forward to this book the most because this is the brother that is the sweet one, the tame one, the one that resolves the fights between the other brothers, the peacemaker but is also the single dad and you just know he has some demons that you want to see worked through. I will admit in that Cockpit was a book that shocked me the most because its the most angsty of the three books. It definitely has a format of enemies to lovers with a mix of pining. I really wasn't expecting it to be honest, so it thew me off in the beginning, I did go into this book blind, but in typical K. Bromberg fashion, she had me falling in love with this book despite throwing my vibe off on what I was expecting. Lesson to read blurbs if you don't like surprises in the beginning. haha

    First Line
"It isn't what you think. I promise."

    The Main Protagonists
    The Hero: Grayson
Rescue Helicopter Pilot, Baby of the family, peacemaker, Single Father

    The Heroine: Sydney
Daddy's girl, works in marketing, dreams of owning her own fashion magazine. Bubbly and independent.

    Summary
Sydney, has dreamed of owning her own publication and she loves fashion. She left the small town that she grew up in, but when she makes a mistake with her father's company to protect a friend, her father sends her as punishment to the small town she grew up in to repair a magazine and run a daddy beefcake contest and the man that she has to convince to work with the contest, is one stubborn man. Grayson Malone, is one sexy dad and helicopter pilot. But he is also as prickly as a porcupine when it comes to her. She rubbed him the wrong way and is determined to repair those bridges so that she can get him on board with this plan but as tensions rise between them so does their sexual chemistry. They both know that what they have is temporary, but as they learn each other, a sweet endearing love builds....but can their love last when its just temporary or will they learn to fight for what they have?

    What I Loved
Cockpit shocked me in so much in how much I LOVED this one and I do think that this one ended up being my favorite of the trilogy. I wasn't sure how Cockpit could beat the previous two books, but somehow it did because all the feels was so intense and put me in a twirl of adventure and sexy vibes. There is so much tension between these two especially in the beginning. The hero is such a tortured soul. He has been betrayed in one of the worst ways, but he is completely devoted to his son and I loved seeing what a great dad he turned out to be. He is one of my favorites that I have ever read. I loved his heart and his tender personality at times. He has such a trusting heart once he lets you in. He is also so protective of his son. And this little boy totally stole my heart and has throughout the series. But seeing this little boy just yearn for a mother just broke my heart.

The way that the romance was developed was so well done. K. Bromberg is queen in getting the reader to be so invested in her couples, and Grayson and Sydney being together, well I became invested very very quickly and I am not complaining haha There is such delicious sexual tension in the first half. But when they both let go of their own perceptions of each other is where they blossom together. We do have the whole trying to not let themselves get hurt as its a temporary arrangement and also having to keep it a secret. But seeing them learning to love each other delivered in so many precious moment that delivered all the way for me. And the moments in which we see them learn to "fight" for their love. Yeah that takes the cake! I really adored what we see happen in the third act. Sometimes I struggle with the third act breakup, but the author here writes them so so well! And the way that this author was able to have my emotions so involved in this pairing was beyond clever. She definitely is a favorite author for a reason and I am definitely wanting to get back to her stories more.

    What I Struggled With
The angst in the beginning, it just threw me off for a loop a bit. The hero is a bit prickly towards the heroine. I felt for Sydney, because she is not the girl she was in High School, and has to work to redeem herself. I just felt the hero was a bit too harsh.

    Overall View
I found Cockpit to be a poignant, packed with heart and sexy vibes, while packing quite a humorous punch along the way. A DELIGTHFUL GEM TO SOAR WITH!

I was eagerly awaiting Grayson's story, he always struck me as serious and broody but a great dad. I had a feeling this one would be have a lot of angst, with a back and forth, it would a fight for this guy. This was not your typical single dad story, it packs a punch on the emotional side with heart warming moments.

Sidney Thorton is back in Sunnyville her old stomping grounds to revive a magazine as a test to earn editorial responsibility on her own magazine also in a way prove to her dad she can. Thing is her assignment now is further away from anything of interest to her that being domesticity. But her new hot dad contest might be her winning ticket.

Grayson is one hot and intense single dad fits the bill, he loves his son so much it made him more attractive. He and Sidney had their history to contend with among other things. I wasn't sure of Sidney at times she definitely had the privileged air about her and well she did not have the approachable feel to her back then. But weirdly in a way I can get her and at least she owns up to her flaws and she showed who she could be. I'm certainly glad she evolved with this story. This one had me on the tether hooks, it will bring the feels.

Grayson and Sidney got along fabulously but there were obstacles for them to get through. Being burned before has left an impression on our hero, Luke's mom is a lot like Sidney at the start. I can't really blame him for his animosity from his past and the baggage that weighs him down. From hate to love these two go, chemistry is high from start though a slow burn with tension. A lot of push and pull and you ride it out with them. When it comes to that kind of sparks though when it all reaches a boiling point it gets overflowing with heat.

I have to say Luke Malone stole this show and hearts, his moments were the best. I expected the drama and frustration that was pretty intense and could get draggy but here it all served for the plot nothing unnecessary. I'm a big fan of character development so I liked that both main characters grew and owned up to their faults. Also Grayson and Sidney fighting for the other and falling for other was a delight to watch, ardent and fulfilling.

K Bromberg saved the best for last here. It was written impeccably and engaging. Worth the risk was all-consuming, passionate, swoony and emotional. Sometimes love shows when you least expect. I love my single dad books so I enjoyed this a lot, if you haven't read the other Malone brother they are must reads too.

So many layers, so much emotion! This is what K.Bromberg gives you every time and is something I never doubt I will get when reading her books.
To say I’m addicted is an understatement. Her ability to draw you in like you feel your right there amongst it all, standing next to the characters and absorbing every emotion and look between them. It’s a feeling that is so incredible and fulfilling. Worth The Risk has made me feel all of this and so much more.

This book is about second chances and finding out that people aren’t always what they seem. The stereotype you perceive them to be then realising you got it wrong and they are nothing like the ones you have dealt with in the past. The one that broke your heart and shattered your world. To admit to yourself that you can trust your heart with what it wants and not be so consumed with the sadness and hurt of the past.

Grayson and Sidney’s story is told only the way K.Bromberg can tell it. There characters are so true and strong, and yes we all love the hot alpha male but there is something about Sidney that will have you so in love with her character. With so much Intensity and raw emotion, as well as some humor and fun times, these two will open you up to feel everything that they are going through. The single dad and the Uptown girl, the little boy who will melt your heart with his innocence and loving personality, then break it just as quickly with his desire for the one thing that is missing in his life. A Mother!

Worth The Risk to me is written perfection. The storyline, the whole book is just perfect and fulfilling. The heart and soul behind every word is evident and you will not be able to help but fall in love with another Malone.

Loved Loved Loved Grayson and Sidney and of course little Luke!
    K. Bromberg will forever be one of my go to, insta click, so dang excited for authors. And this one...oh oh OH! It was everything I love in a great enemies to lovers. From the start Gray and Sidney didn't get along, but as we worked our way through the book, their relationship developed into something so beautiful and amazing. And throw in Luke, the Malone Clan and you have one heck of a book. I loved the previous two Malone Brother's book, but this one may have been my favourite. This can absolutely be read as a standalone but I would definitely recommend reading the others as well. Excited for Desi's book this fall and whatever K has up her sleeve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastic book from Kristy!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 4, 2018
It goes without saying that, when you pick up a Kristy book you’re in for a treat. I fell in love with her writing style back when I read DRIVEN and haven't fallen out of love with it since. She has the ability to make you laugh, cry and growl at your kindle. And that’s what I want from a story.

Grayson and Sidney's story was a bit of a slow start for me, I'll be honest. I'm not sure if it's just how it was for me or because I was reading it off the back of a reread of the Driven series. However, once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. I devoured it in less than twenty-four hours.

There are so many things I love about this story—I love that it's a journey of self-discovery for both characters, I love that there is drama for the sake of drama and I absolutely adore the fact that Grayson is a single Dad with an incredible and funny little boy.

I love how raw the emotions that Grayson feels about his heartbreak and present are, he's so very real, just doing his best and trying to be the best Dad he can be. I fell for him pretty hard I have to admit and he's one I'll go back and reread I'm sure.

One of my favourite things about the book and one I think is really important is that the language little Luke uses is right for his age. Some authors add children to the mix and the language is too adult and it just doesn't work. But Kristy nailed it and had me laughing so many times.

This is the first book in this series that I've read and I'm off to download the next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great instalment in a series of complete stories that could all be read as stand alone books.

Grayson is the youngest of the Malone brothers. As a single dad, he is extremely protective of his son and tries his best to make up for the fact that Luke's mother isn't around. He may be one of the local heartthrobs in Sunnyville, with all the single women queuing up to be "the one" for him, but that side of his life is kept well away from Luke to protect him. Any woman he even speaks to is a potential mom in Luke's eyes!

Sidney Thornton is back in town on a mission. She stuffed up so her father has sent her back to their hometown to reluctantly work on the Modern Family magazine. Not that she is interested in a magazine about "family" but she has a point to prove - that she can turn the magazine around, is good at her job, can be relied upon, and worthy of the editor's role at a fashion magazine - her dream job.

Sid's idea to boost the ratings of 'Modern Family' is to have a "hot dad" contest. It works well! Sid needs to get the local contestant to do his photo shoot, but what she didn't expect was that he didn't enter, didn't know about the contest and wasn't interested! Sid new Grayson from high school, but his memories of her are not good. Can they prove to each other that people grow and change, that you have different goals in life as life gets in the way?

Lovely, slow burn story with some fab characters. Luke steals Sid's and your heart very early on.
