Webdancer: A Future-Fantasy Adventure (Stormweaver Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 68 ratings

An invasion by stealth. A ruthless mercenary. A wild love affair and hope of survival.

Alissa returns to Kar in her quest to track down the shadowy syndicate behind the plot in the desert––only to find her search blocked as much by the constraints of university life as by the threats and deadly attacks she encountered in Irithen.

Until the assassin strikes, revealing a whole new level of intrigue and expertise.

Fleeing to the capital to discover who is behind the conspiracy is one way of taking the initiative.
It also takes her into greater danger as she comes face to face with the invaders–– and the terrifying Captain Reith who has haunted her dreams ever since she saw him on a grainy vid-recording in the desert.
A compelling attraction she still does not understand.

Maybe love will prove more powerful than war…
But the heart of the enemy is a dangerous place.

Webdancer is the second book in the Stormweaver series, the far-future fantasy epic by Jay Aspen.

Publisher’s note; Stormweaver is a 6-book series, best read in chronological order. Each book has a character arc and resolution of the sub plot within the longer series arc. Readers who prefer the whole story and character depth all at once can download Stormweaver Box Set.

Review

An extraordinary story! Original, vivid descriptions of a strange and dangerous planet whose people have developed a startling sensitivity to rocks, plants, animals and each other. I would love to see it as a feature film!

Jay is a fantasy and sci-fi author from the wild Welsh borders, who loves weaving her (sometimes hair-raising) experiences of extreme sports and travel adventures into both contemporary and imagined worlds. An entertaining start to a new series! Aisha is looking forward to getting her dream job until she discovers something that jeopardizes not only the job but her entire people. Definitely leaves you looking forward to seeing how the story expands and what challenges she faces.
