Whisper Woods: Legends of the Whisper Woods: Book Three Kindle Edition
For five years they’ve met in the Whisper Woods. Destined to find each other again and again—but only for a single night. Secret moments in time, stolen from reality. Until worlds collide and the Gods decree nothing will be the same again.
Whisper Woods is the final book in the Legends of the Whisper Woods series. While each book contains its own HEA, interconnecting storylines throughout the series mean they are best read in order.

About the author

Growing up, Ali Woods’ family always assumed she would end up working with books.
Writing sweet but kind of smutty romances probably wasn’t what they had in mind, however.
When not writing sweet but kind of smutty stories, she can often be found reading them and avoiding the general responsibilities of having a husband, a dog and children. Alternatively, she can usually be found collecting new hobbies she doesn’t have time for or at least, looking for them on the internet.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2025I am in love. It's the third in this cozy fantasy series with a strong theme of found family and stars Seff, a golden retriever wolf shifter. I've loved Seff since book one so was really excited to see him finally get his book.
His LI is Rafe, a prickly black cat of a dragon kin. The two are drawn together inexplicably when they first meet, but for reasons out of their control aren't able to get more than a few stolen fleeting moments with each other over the years. The two of them had the best interactions. Rafe is grumpy and a little bossy while Seff is a himbo cinnamon roll happy to tease Rafe. The fact it takes them so long to get together has you reading on the edge of your seat (bed, in my case), screaming at the two of them to admit their feelings please and thank you.
There's also lots of plot so it's a good mix of romance and story telling. I'm really sad to see this series over. If you like cozy fantasy, lots of different types of magical beings, a queer normative world and an enchanted forest that always has its own ideas about things, I 100% recommend these books. All three of them are sweet and entertaining and full of love.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2025Oh my big, sweet, sexy wolf shifter Seff. Protect this man with everything. All the beings who helped rescue Theo from the clutches of Marieth now all seem to be paired off with their loves, still dealing with the trauma but with a partner. Seff doesn't have that. What he has is a mysterious man Rafe that he's met in the woods a handful of times over that last 5 years. It's the single greatest thing in his life and it's more and more painful to leave Rafe each time. Seff's dad is pressuring him more and more about becoming the alpha of their pack and Seff knows that's not what he wants. He wants Rafe but that seems impossible. Until one night at the Black Stump Rafe is unbelievably standing right there. Rafe's magical walled off city of Tathys is about to be reunited with the regular world, and not everyone is happy. Honestly all Rafe really wants to to claim Seff as his forever. I love how emotional all the books in this series are. Seff is an alpha male coded character that is allowed to be vulnerable and have deep emotions, which I love. The pining between these two MCs is great. And they have great spicy scenes. I loved have the whole gang along again for the adventure, and we even get dragons this time. Highly recommend this and the whole series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2025What a wonderful ending to a fabulous low fantasy series! Ali finally gives us Seff’s story and what a story! Now we get to see who Seff really is, where he has sneaked off to. And we meet Rafe, who is trying to save his home world’s magic. Yes, it’s the reason so much has been going on in Whisper Woods. So this story’s timeline overlaps the other two stories so we get to see the events from those from a different perspective. And Ali also switches between the past and present but all this handles seamlessly so it’s not confusing or overwhelming. Of course we get all of our favorites denizens of Whisper Woods, love them all. In fact we learn more about one in particular, so perfect! I love how we get to see Seff claim his authentic self. Can this be read as standalone…I guess it can be, the author does a great job of weaving prior events/characters with this narrative, but why would you! Go back and read the first two. Oh, and there’s going to be adjacent stories!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2025I really enjoyed this story, it’s my favorite of the series. Rafe and Seff are an explosive pair! The mates in the series are all great, but these two, wow. The spicy bits are so very spicy, and the two balance each other out beautifully.
Seff has never felt like he was free to be himself or find a place for himself in his pack. It’s hard on him to be the son of the alpha, to be bigger and stronger than everyone else and not feel like it’s where he fits. He’s always restless and agitated, needing to run.
Rafe is the son of a wealthy and influential family. He’s lucky enough to be able to travel more than most others. His world is so beautiful, and magic flows freely everywhere. Except when it doesn’t.
The way the two worlds fit together like puzzle pieces is a great part of the story. You can’t really have one without the other.
The story is quite well written. It’s descriptive enough to be able to see the Woods, smell Tathys, hear Rafe’s or Seff’s growls. I could lose myself in those woods.
I’d like to see spin off of this series that explores this universe after Tathys opens. Or perhaps from Brydon’s point of view. It’d be nice to see him find a mate.
It’s been a great series!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2025Ali has written a wonderful series and I hate that this is the last one in Whisper Woods.
Seff and Rafe are the perfect couple to make the ending bearable.
The ancient magic that protected the city of Tathys is breaking down, and Rafe is determined to find out why and fix it.
Seff is a wolf shifter who works in construction with his dad.
But Seff wants more, and the only excitement in his life occurs in the forest, where he meets Rafe once a year, for 5 years.
Prepare to be immersed in fanaticism, extremism, anxiety, racism and pack dynamics.
You'll track every clue as it leads to a kidnapping and a HEA that is wonderful in its clarity.
Thanks to GRR for this wonderful ARC to a perfectly concocted series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2025This story has some really amazing characters and the world building is done very well. You get pulled into Rafe and Seff's world with all it's magic and landscapes.
It's a slow burn romance with a very happily ever after. Rafe and Seff know they are meant to be together long before they ever admit it even to themselves. With the help of thier chosen family and friends, the adventures begin.
