She was the face that launched a thousand ships, the fierce beauty at the heart of Olympus...and she was never ours to claim.

*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus that's as sinful as it is sweet.*

In Olympus, you either have the power to rule…or you are ruled. Achilles Kallis may have been born with nothing, but as a child he vowed he would claw his way into the poisonous city's inner circle. Now that a coveted role has opened to anyone with the strength to claim it, he and his partner, Patroclus Fotos, plan to compete and double their odds of winning.

Neither expect infamous beauty Helen Kasios to be part of the prize…or for the complicated fire that burns the moment she looks their way.

Zeus may have decided Helen is his to give to away, but she has her own plans. She enters into the competition as a middle finger to the meddling Thirteen rulers, effectively vying for her own hand in marriage. Unfortunately, there are those who would rather see her dead than lead the city. The only people she can trust are the ones she can't keep her hands off―Achilles and Patroclus. But can she really believe they have her best interests at heart when every stolen kiss is a battlefield?

Katee Robert dazzles audiences again with a swoon worthy romance!

Wicked Beauty is a hot and lustful, intense love story. Despite the heat, the characters are open, honest, and sincere with one another. Robert stuns with Wicked Beauty, a story of healing, acceptance, and finding love when you least expect it.

At first glance, Wicked Beauty may seem like a story of love amidst the chaos of competition. However, at its core, it’s a story about self-worth and self-love. Robert’s characters are incredible forces who do not let their pasts define them. Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus all fight tooth and nail for the respect they deserve.

All three characters are damaged in different ways. Despite this, they are unyielding in following their dreams. While an unlikely trio, Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus may be the only ones who can mend each other’s hearts and save them from the depths of themselves.

Wicked Beauty tells the story of Helen Kasios. She’s been abused before and vows to never suffer again. It also tells the story of Achilles. He grew up with nothing and is determined to make his life matter. Patroclus is prided as a man of logic and reason. A man intent on using his skills to help his soulmate Achilles win the title of Ares.

As competitors to one another, they should be enemies. However, none of them can deny the attraction they feel for each other. Are Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus destined to be soulmates forever? Will the competition’s end separate them for good? Read and find out! You do NOT want to miss out on Katee Robert’s third entry in her Dark Olympus series!

    MMF Romance

HOLY HOTNESS 🥵 this book will leave you sweating!!!

Wicked Beauty is the 3rd installment in the Dark Olympus series. This time we follow Helen Kasios as she navigates the politics of Olympus. Her brother, the new Zeus, decrees that Helen will wed the new Ares, chosen by winning the Olympus tournament. Helen has other plans though; she decides to compete for her own hand. Her competition is fierce: there’s her abusive ex, Paris, warrior Atalanta, Olympus outsiders the Minotaur & Theseus among many others. But the most dangerous just might turn out to be the men she can’t help but be drawn to: Achilles and Patroclus. Achilles had a plan; he is going to be the next Ares. His long time boyfriend Patroclus also had a plan; enter the tournament to support Achilles and be at his side for as long as possible. Neither counted on how each would be attracted to Helen. What ensues is a hot mess in the best of ways.

In Katee Robert’s own words, she’s moving ‘from retelling to reimagining starting with Wicked Beauty’ and she could not have done a better job. I absolutely love this story! I know some people haven’t liked that Helen was added to Achilles and Patroclus’ relationship but the fresh take works & I think it’s definitely worth a chance.

Best part of this book are the characters. Each one is unique and written with such nuance. Helen is a badass, Patroclus is a genius and Achilles is an enigma. We see different traumas, different personalities, and different ways to love come together in a perfectly imperfect relationship. I also like the tournament scenes and how they pay homage to different Greek myths (ex.Minotaur & Maze and Achilles fatal wound). It’s got action and heart and tons of smut 😏.

I’ve seen comparisons of the Ares Tournament from this book to the TriWizard tournament from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I think it’s definitely similar with the In my opinion, the comparison goes a little further. Like the 4th Harry Potter book, the plot of Wicked Beauty is setting up the rest of the series to have a central storyline and common enemy. Now, along with the central love story we’ll also see Olympus deal with the failing barrier and the threat of Minos. I’m so excited to see where the series goes!

Overall, I loved this book! It is chaotic and exhilarating and hilarious and so so sexy 🤩. At some points I thought the characters got repetitive and I was disappointed that there was no epilogue, but I think it’s a great read. Katee Robert is on my instant buy author list but Dark Olympus is my favorite series from her. Now the wait begins for Radiant Sin in 2023 😩.

    Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

First, I have to preface that I did not want to read the book initially. I originally read Neon Gods and Electric Idol and immensely enjoyed the books. They were the first time I read actual, smutty books with trigger warnings. That I do suggest be read before reading any book of the series. However, I debated reading Wicked Beauty due to the polyamorous relationship between Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen. I was a bit nervous about not understanding or making the proper connections. I read A Worthy Opponent first from her Wicked Villans series and it was an eye-opener. I was weary to read this one. But, being a risk taker and wanting to understand all aspects of the spectrum, I dove in with an open mind.
And it was blown to bits.🤯
The whole Hunger games vs. Greek Myths was well thought out, and it made an exciting way of reimagining and retelling the original story while creating a new identity. I also like the author's connections to her previous work (Hercules, where are you?). I think Roberts is creating a new world of her creations where the most important story that is told is of characters and their relationships with each other.
The smut was on point and completely consensual, which is an aspect that I find very endearing to Roberts's style in relationships; everything can happen if there is consent.
That being said, one aspect I would have loved is to see a bit more time between the three main MCs. I think the relationship unfolded under challenging circumstances, and I was left wanting to know how they were when they were not competing. To see a little more depth to the characters I saw in the other books. I think the main character was always Helen. I believe this novel focuses a great deal more on plot than character, which, based on the circumstances being set up, were fine. Perhaps in the other installments, we will see different sides to these characters, especially Ares. 😊

Oh my 🔥 this book! Not only was it insanely well written, but I could not put it down. Wicked Beauty, it’s story, the characters - Helen, Patroclus, Achilles - had me captivated and invested.

Katee Robert does it again! This time with a phenomenal Helen of Troy inspired dark romance with incredible characters and smut 🌶

While this is a brilliant work of fiction, there are so many underlying themes that everyone can relate to: the need for independence and autonomy, strong ambitions, love, and learning to trust.

The third in the Dark Olympus series, this can be read as a standalone, but is better read in order. Katee has planned for a a total of 10 books in the series!! And I’m so looking forward to the next!

Helen is the sister of the new Leader of the Upper City and the Thirteen, Zeus (formerly known as Perseus) and wants nothing more than to escape her brother’s control. To break from his grasp, she plans on entering the competition of challenging and daring trials to become the new Ares… but when Zeus announces the competition open, he declares that the winner will marry Helen.

Shocked and even more betrayed, Helen goes against her brother’s wishes and secretly enters… the problem? Achilles wants to become one of the 13 as Ares just as much as Helen does.

What follows is a gripping story of betrayal, determination and, against all odds, love and trust.

Reviewed in Germany on May 22, 2023
Katee Robert's unique and innovating interpretation of Olympus and greek mythology created once again a delightful story.

Whereas Helen was portayed as "weak" and lacked agency in the original Iliad, Roberts presents a true warrior forged by modern society and is more spartan than even the original picture that the classic ever painted her to be. Strong, clever and cunning, without being villainized this depiction of Helen was a refreshing change to a character that is often viewed solely as an object and plot device.

On the other hand, the relationship between Helen, Achilles and Patroclus was also one of a kind, since the book introduces a new relationship that takes its time to bloom. Rather than being a bed of roses, the road to one another described within the narrative was far more realistic. From hesitation, vulnerability and doubt to courage and new beginnings.

While Katee Robert's books are usually spoken about their spice which was AMAZING, but that is besides the point! here it contibuted to the intimacy and the overall development of the characters! I loved this book... I cannot wait to see where the next book will take the story!!!

Another great addition to the Gods of Olympus series. Beside the inspiration from Greek mythology characters and their traits, that I absolutely adore, I love that this series is spicy with substance. There is a great story of intrigue and politics beyond the spicy bits. And it doesn't feel forced like it was added to justify the book's existence. Love this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars An emotional and sexy ride from start to finish
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 15, 2024
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I can never get enough of modern day takes on Olympian legends and the Dark Olympus series is one of my favourites. This instalment focuses on Helen of Troy, Achilles and Patroclus in a polyamorous relationship that may be the life or death of all three concerned.

The position of Ares on the Council of Thirteen is up for grabs and as it’s not a legacy position anyone can compete to be the new Ares.  Zeus thinks he can sweeten the deal by offering his sister Helen’s hand in marriage to the winner, but Helen is not happy with this development and enters the competition herself. Meanwhile, Achilles and his partner Patroclus have their own ideas of winning the prize and enter together to double their odds. What none of them banked on was the streamy and addictive chemistry all three would share as the challenges progress and the stakes in the competition get higher.

Though they can’t keep their hands off each other, the chances of them all getting out of the contest (a) alive and (b) becoming Ares decreases as the contestants single each other out making the tasks more dangerous. Should they go their separate ways to save their hearts or should they stick together to the end. How can this new arrangement have a happy ending with whatever outcome occurs?

Whoa that was an emotional and sexy ride from start to finish. The approach to this relationship was with a lot of body positivity and frank conversation. I don’t often read polyamorous stories as I sometimes find keeping track of two strong personalities can be difficult enough and three makes it even more intense, but I feel Katee did that dynamic justice here. She gave all three main characters distinct and well thought out motivations/points of view and plotted the story with plenty of action, passion, and emotional resonance to keep me hooked. I loved the introduction of the new family from outside Olympus as this added intrigue and unknown elements for the characters and storylines that have already occurred as well as repercussions for the ones in this book. I loved it!

I loved the introduction of the new family from outside Olympus as this added intrigue and unknown elements for the characters and storylines that have already occurred as well as repercussions for the ones in this book. I loved it!
